Terranic Syntheism
Gods are real but do not exist.
Apocalypse can be a teacher
Covid-19 is teaching us about emissions, necessity, and welfare. Â
One of its lessons is that personal transportation is only a small part of carbon emissions. Â We have learned that it is not enough to just drive less.
Another lesson it offers is that supply chains and traditional styles of work need an update. Getting food and products to where they need to go has always been a problem, but it has been ignored because those who suffer are in underprivileged countries.
The final lesson is that welfare is vitally important.  Whether a country is bailing out the rich or sending money to civilians, society’s actions demonstrate the need for welfare. Â
As climate crisis looms and the covid crisis kills, we must remember: Genesis comes after Apocalypse.
A new world always follows the end of the world. It is easy to think that the end of the world, Apocalypse, justifies heinous acts. But this thinking forgets about the new world, Genesis, that will come. We must strive to enter new worlds with diligence and love.
Please wash your hands, stay inside, and love from a distance. Stay with the Trouble.
Terranic Truths (V)
Finally, we believe that the Terranic Truths are True, not Fact
Truth is Recursive
Terranic Truths (IV)
We believe in Magic It is communication with the universe Using it we can Emerge with intent
Make-with
Terranic Truths (III)
We believe in Truth and Fact Fact is stable, Truth is fluid They are distinct Truth is of reality, Fact is of existence Neither is greater than the other
Both-and
Terranic Truths (II)
We believe in Salvation Apocalypse is the end of a world Genesis is the beginning of a world Salvation comes between them Salvation is not a place, a state, or a person It is collaboration between organisms To move through worlds with love
Become-with
Terranic Truths (I)
We believe in Emergence The whole is greater than its parts The parts are more than the whole All wholes are a part All parts are a whole More is different The whole vanishes without the parts The parts die without the whole Thus is the organism Our planet is an organism We call this truth Terra.
We are Terra.
We’ve got your back
My Promises
I, the Apostle of Terra, promise to provide quality content when I am able. Â I promise that my content will be truthful according to my understanding. Â I promise that I will do my best to guide you with integrity.
I do not promise to post regularly.  I’m trying to make quality not quantity and sometimes that takes time and/or inspiration.
Definition of Religion
There are many competing definitions of religion out there. Â Some try to break it down into one vital component. Â There are others that try to name everything religion is capable of organizing. Â Many definitions have a western bias, others tend to be demeaning. Â Terranism will avoid this kerfuffle and content itself with its own definitions. Â
The Terranic definition of religion:
Religion is an organization of spirituality
And the Terranic definition of spirituality:
Spirituality is an organization of the truth
What is the truth?  Well, that’s what we’re all trying to figure out, isn’t it?
A Prophet’s Intent
I am forging a religion.
I am dissatisfied with the religious paradigms available to me; they are either burdened by superstition or define themselves negatively in relation to mainstream religions (“we are NOT Christians, etc.).
I am dissatisfied with atheism.  It is a void. To be an atheist is to proclaim no belief, but that does not describe me.  I hold many beliefs, and I want to be defined by them not by the lack of someone else’s.
I aim to create what I want. Â Follow me if you like.
