SO HOW WE FEELIN’ TODAY FELLAS
*at 9 last night* alright time to ruin my hearing to listen to OKO
*at 10, ears ringing, sobbing my eyes out* worth it babey
I was nerfed with tinnitus because I would be too powerful given full access to music
God I love online friendship. Yesterday I met someone in the comments on an instagram post, then we DMed for five hours and now I would die for her
Talking to straight people is like seeing into another dimension. Like damn, it's looking kinda fucked up in there.
From the mouth of a One Percenter -
Abigail Disney
!!!!!!!!!!!
“Yes, there is a superyachtinvestor.com. Go look at it and it will make you so angry, you could chew glass.”
we stan class traitors on this blog
Abigail Disney has no control or input on the operations of the corporation, she is a Disney heiress and, in that respect, nothing else. She puts her money towards philanthropy, especially women’s movements around the globe and peace organizations like Peace is Loud and the Global Fund for Women. She is a documentary filmmaker who explores these themes as well.
There are problematic family investments she earns money from that, legally, she cannot divest from. Instead, she donates these profits to charities that counter to those investments.
Reblogging this version because I needed to read this after watching the video
She’s still saying this shit here in 2019 😍
Abigail Disney is among the superrich speaking out against income inequality. When Disney workers told her they were rationing insulin and s
“I have literally sat in a room with the people [at Disney] who pour your soda, and the people who clean your room and scrape gum off the sidewalks, who have told me, “I have to ration my insulin.” I have sat with them, and I have felt a kind of rage that I don’t even know how to describe to you.”
GO OFF GO OFF GO OFF
I think one way to be happier is, to, like, do things just because you want to? Like
I draw. A lot. I'm not very good, and I am not very interested in becoming much better because I don't plan on ever becoming an artist, but I really enjoy putting together color schemes and sketching out faces and abstract designs.
I swim. I am not very athletic or in shape. I don't know swimming strokes. However, just being in the water makes me feel very peaceful and relaxed, and I love splashing around with my friends.
I adore space science, but I've never been remotely interested in pursuing it as a career because I don't like math. This doesn't change the fact that I find the science interesting because it makes me think about the rest of the universe.
One time I was painting rocks with my mom and she didn't like how her rock was turning out, so she got frustrated and stopped. Thinking back on it, it makes me sad because I wanted to paint rocks with her as a way to spend time together without her being on her phone, not make beautiful perfect rocks. Having inadequate skill to pursue something professionally or even impress people doesn't mean you can't enjoy it! You don't have to win at it. Just be bad or mediocre and have fun.
man how the hell do people with actual sufferings get through the day? I had to do one (1) english assignment and now I hate being alive
Okay who wants to hear the best phrases from some of my first drafts?
"pillar of funk,"
"saving my life and all that jazz,"
"They brought in some of their scientists, who were excited to actually be doing some work for once. This excitement didn't last very long, however, because they then discovered that the material was radioactive and all promptly died."
"one of the scientists, (who was probably not actually a scientist, as he was hired from a university of the dark arts)"
"you can piss on the side of an executive's head if you want to,"
"he was a little toasty. It took him a few minutes to realize that this was due to everything being on fire."
"James rubbed the brown arm of the couch like he was appraising a horse, or something."
"she had been skewered in the stomach, made into a human kebab, if you will,"
Update because anyone who thinks writing is just uninterrupted genius has clearly never even breathed in the same room as an actual writer
"However, she was more or less filled with rage."
"Ariel frowned, then all of that composure threw itself out of the window and broke every single bone in its body."
"He did something funky and used it to escape."
"'What were you feeling [while you were falling off th roof]?'
'Are you seriously asking that? I was hurtling towards the concrete, Daphne, you think I was conflicted about who to vote for for student council? No! I was afraid of going splat!'"
My two closest friends have both come out as nonbinary, and while it's great for them, it has also caused me to realize that now I have no idea how girls act. Like, I am one, but I don't know that many!!! Is it normal for a girl to say that I'm a cutie and have a pure and beautiful smile?! Bitch! I don't know!
I want more awkward extroverted characters. Being an extrovert does not make you good at people! I am energized by conversation unless I fuck it up horribly, which is most times! Being an extrovert definitely gives a person a different, spicier kind of social anxiety that I would love to see more in fiction.
Pros of having been in choir for 5 years: training for breath optimization allows me to scream very, very loud
Cons: I suddenly remembered the melody of a song I haven't even thought about for multiple years. That sounds cool but I couldn't remember the lyrics and I couldn't remember hearing or learning it ever. It feels like I've been gifted with arcane knowledge but I Do Not Want It
Hi fun fact: stretch marks are totally normal! I have a bunch of them on my lower stomach and inner thighs, and I used to be embarrassed about them because the only person I knew that also had stretch marks was my mom, and hers were from being pregnant, but I looked it up, and sometimes they just pop up during puberty because you're generally growing! :) I know this isn't breaking news or whatever but it's just good to remind yourself
Hey you know when movies and shows use the "ringing ears," sound effect for Creepy Unsettling Points (or because a character is injured)? That is exactly what my tinnitus sounds like. Literally exactly. It irritates me because I hate that sound with a seething fury, and I don't want to hear it any more than I already do, but it also strikes terror into me, because... The experience of tinnitus is entirely subjective. There is no way to make other people hear what I am hearing. In fact, it's pretty difficult to prove that I am hearing anything, let alone what it exactly fucking sounds like. That doesn't even touch on how they recreate it. I am baffled all around.
Thinking about how I rarely ever meet AJR fans in the wild, but the ones I have met were
Fellow queer people
In a group chat for teenagers struggling with mental illness
A poet
And a guy who was running an account on Instagram trying to give advice to people about their problems
I think their music attracts people who are seen as sensitive and have a difficult time of things. They're not overly focused on romantic love, and use relatable language to convey difficult and abstract topics.
In conclusion AJR (and Gary) are the only men I respect because they're putting out music for all us depressed bitches.
Where's my representation for extroverts who are chronically awkward. Just because I enjoy talking to people doesn't mean I have even a margin of charm. Yes I like to go to parties. Yes I end up talking about obscure space facts and unnerving and confusing all those who talk to me. Yes that makes me feel anxious and terrible. No I will never learn from my mistakes.
Wolfwalkers really said, "fuck colonialism, do witchcraft," and I think that's beautiful.
