Prospects for Space Tourism
The definition of space tourism is “the practice of travelling into space for recreational, leisure, or business purposes; in other words, space tourism is human space travel for recreational purposes. In the next few years, space tourism – going to space – will begin and hopefully become commonplace.
The prospects of space tourism are very promising. Space tourism has the enormous potential the proposers ever had expected. Space tourism will become the primary market for RLVs and the largest market for crewed space programs at all, assuming that the transportation cost figures could be achieved.
There are several different types of space tourism, including orbital, suborbital and lunar space tourism. To date, orbital space tourism has been performed only by Roscosmos. Work also continues towards developing suborbital space tourism vehicles. Currently, This is being done by aerospace companies like Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic. In addition, SpaceX announced in 2018 that they are planning on sending space tourists, including Yusaku Maezawa, on a free-return trajectory around the Moon on the Starship.
If the next generation of space planes can reach orbit, then that will massively reduce the cost of getting into space. This means humans will be able to launch satellites, spacecraft and space exploration missions for a fraction of the cost. The final frontier could finally become economically viable to a lot more people. Private space travel companies using reusable space planes could help boost space exploration.
Future of Movie & Entertainment Industry post Covid:
The continuing COVID-19 crisis creates enormous uncertainty and change—and questions with no obvious answers: Which changes will persist? What will the new world look like? How will people and organizations adapt? Even as US technology, media, and telecommunications companies focus on responding to the global pandemic and its immediate repercussions, they hopefully will soon need to pivot toward recovering from the crisis and setting themselves up to thrive in the next era. Sudden change can loosen old foundations, creating opportunities for greater progress. Companies should reassess what and how they sell, how they operate, and how they can forge stronger and more direct relationships with consumers.
The COVID-19 pandemic created a major upheaval in the entertainment industry. Most theaters, concert halls and cinemas were shuttered for at least a year, and television and film production halted for months, leading to hundreds of thousands of layoffs and large sums of money lost. Not only were those directly working in production affected but so were people that support the industry, such as caterers, florists and trucking companies etc.
But while the film industry has seen some negative effects due to the pandemic, it hasn't been all that bad for at home-based consumers, which fueled a tremendous increase in streaming by the staggering gains made by Netflix and Disney+, in particular," as well as a general increase in video gaming.
With many movie theaters either in the process of reopening or still uncertain about the future, production companies have turned to these streaming services to debut their movie slates. One major film studio, Warner Bros. Pictures, decided to release all of its 2021 films on HBO Max, which allowed for more people to stream new movies from the comfort and safety of their own homes while also prompting the question: What does the future hold for movie theaters, streaming services and film studios when the pandemic ends?
Streaming is more than a trend; it's the future of entertainment. COVID-19 showed many consumers that it is far more convenient and cost-efficient to stream films and TV shows. The expert thinks more studios will launch films simultaneously in theaters and streaming or streaming alone, which will deeply cut into the theater business.
To recover from this enormous crisis while laying the foundation for a thriving future, media and entertainment organizations are considering key strategic opportunities such as how to adjust business models and technologies for better consumer engagement, to redefine relationships with advertisers during spending pullback, to prepare for consumer behaviors that may become permanent, recover stronger than ever, and thrive in the next era.
The recovery phase will likely require M&E companies to have the determination to move forward confidently. But to thrive, companies may need to break old models and build new ones that support a return to growth. Many content creators are celebrated for their rich heritage and connection to a romanticized era. This crisis is an opportunity to preserve the best of the old era while moving forward to imagine and create a renewed industry.
