"...Do you like beetles?"
🪲
*Okay.
It's time.
It's happening.
Lucie chose a good outfit : her best button down, her favorite tie, green with a pattern of small yellow butterflies. She took a shower and did her hair in an elegant bun with a hairclip, leaving hair strands to each sides of her face. Ah damn. She felt so nervous. She did even use her little khôl stick, applying a black eyeliner on her face. One cannot be too precious in such a moment. With her red eyes, it made her look more "metal" than what she hoped for...
Everything was in the details : she even put some cream on her rashed hands, so for once they would be somewhat softer and better looking. She has some jewelry on, gold rings and a golden been pin on her tie.*
- Pavel ? Can... We talk, a little ?
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
Beetle looked over at Lucie, his eyes widening as he saw her.
"Woah... Uh... Yeah sure! What's up?"
His eyes wandered her outfit, a slight blush forming on his cheeks. Man, she was so pretty like this...
"Eheh.... What's the occasion? You're normally fancy but this is a lot, even for you!"
- An occasion ? Ah, no ! Nothing, nothing ! Just wanted to... Break the monotony of days ?
*She dismiss him ankwardly, waving her hands before her chest in a "no no no" gesture.*
- I just wanted to... Go for a walk outside, and I was wondering, if maaybe, you... Would like to come with me ?
*After all it was in her habits. This was not such a stretch, she passed most of her nights outside, trying to find peace and quiet. She barely used her corner of the room. She told herself it was to save Spiral but she did the same every night back at Mikhail's...*
- I miss the hill and the forest but the city is pretty too, at night.
"Oh! Understandable, it does get boring wearing the same thing every single day."
Beetle smiled, his face lighting up at the offer.
"Oh of course! I would love to go walking with you! I needed to get out anyway. Still need to get used to the new environment."
- Yes !
*She pulls her little hand in a victory fist, before turning toward the door. She even removed her headphones for once. She wanted to be present. Even tho her ears were catching every little sounds around, it felt better. She was feeling human again.*
- So, shall we go ? I usually go out by the hole in the fence, it's easier. We have to be careful tho, some people do patrols...
*And they are visitors. It would be bad if someone caught them.*
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?
Beetle walked up to be next to her, his eyes shining.
"We can go whenever, I don't mind. It's not like I got anything going on."
He nodded, fidgeting with his hands.
"Alright. Don't worry, I protect you!"
Beetle gave a playful grin, nudging her slightly with his elbow.
//we can have it after all the other stuff lol. Probably easier that way.
- My hero !
*She laughs, but not a mean laughter. Beetle might be taller than her - a little - but she is pretty sure she would be the one throwing a punch in an urgent situation. Or not. But she did feel a bit safer with him by her side.
As they pass the fence and go for the city, they hear nothing but silence. The streets are calm. Without street lights, the night sky was the more detailed Lucie ever saw. The milky way was visible, without all the pollution around.*
- I love going for a night walk. Always did ! A bit scary, as a woman, but now, I am a scary visitor, right ? I can be free !
Beetle gazed up at the stars, awe etched into his features.
"Yeah? I like night walks too."
He chuckled, looking over at her.
"Yeah, no one would dare mess with you!"
Beetle smiled, looking back up at the sky.
"You know, this reminds me of when I would camp out in the field, Under the stars... But I think they are prettier tonight."
He blushed slightly, looking away. That was cheesy...
- You would ? I figured you had, like, a cosy lab or some kind of office ! But you did tell me, now I remember... That's why you always pack extra ! And why you are such in good shape.
*Why did she say that ? That escaped her ! She tried to play it cool and look elsewhere, quite obviously blushing. This must be very funny to watch and she giggles to herself, a bit stressed.*
- They are prettier yes ! I think this is because we take the time to appreciate it. When you are working, or even with friends, you are distracted. Now, we have all the time in the world to... Self actualise. To think, to feel, and to talk. All the things we never dared to do before...
*Aaaah this was so hard !
Come on Lucie, grab his hand !
After some hesitation, she decides to walk closer to him, as if seeking protection or poking at him, but it was to better let their hands slighlty touch each other, before finally she takes that step further.
Her face was... Let's say "coordinated with her eyes".*
"Funny enough, I never really did well in labs. It was too sterile for me I suppose."
Beetle's face flushed, a goofy smile on his face.
"Heh... Guess all that hiking did some good huh?"
He looked back up at the stars.
"Hm... Maybe you're right..."
He noticed her hand slightly touching his, his face reddening even more.
"..."
Beetle took her hand in his nervously, looking away.
*Neither of them could look at the other and Lucie was faking interest in the sorroundings to hide her smile and redness. She held his hand a bit tighter, feeling its warmth with contempt.
The days were burning and the nights stayed warm, until a certain hour when it became freezing, just like in a desert. It was still warm now, but she felt a shiver anyway, and walked a bit closer to Beetle. For warmth yeah.
She does not answer. There is no much interest in focusing on jobs or friends who dissapeared. She wanted the discussion to stay light. She would not speak about death tonight.*
- I... I am happy you agreed to come with me. I do love my loneliness, but tonight it's different. I felt like walking with someone. Usually I kidnapp Artie, Void or Spiral, but...
*It was different with them. She noticed a long time ago. How she felt and talked with them was more natural. Not that Beetle made her anxious but she did feel more nervous.*
- I have a place I wanted to show you... If you want of course !
*While doing her nocturnal explorations, she did notice some cool places. Abandonned cinemas, rooftops with a top view of the whole city, but what was interessting here was an abandonned museum, with a broken window.
Some artists at the beggining of the apocalypse must have lived in the place, as they left some graffitis and artworks on the walls, next to the squelettons and geodes. Even some poems ! The place was clean and devoid of death, excepting the collections of course. It was surprising to see something... Not destroyed. The emergency museum systems kept a humidity level and a fresh air in all the place and it felt cool and comfortable. She loved going there and walking alone in between the aisles. Sometimes drawing or talking with her favorites strawed animals.
Like a very normal person.*
Beetle looked down at her, his eyes shining with curiosity.
"Oh! Sure! I'd love to go!"
He smiled, trying to imagine what the place she wanted to show him was.
"Must be a really cool spot if you want to bring me there specifically."
*With happy, quicker steps, Lucie guide him toward the old science museum, never letting go of his hand.*
- We are not far away !
*It looks just how it was before, but the glass dome above it provoked a fire, and the roof, while still standing, is blackened by ashes. The building itself is as new, except for some tags and a broken window.
She leads him to the biggest and safest one to climb into, as the front door is locked, helping him to get inside.*
- Tadaa ! I guess you know the place, but if not, this is my newest refuge !
*Decorated and lively walls, empty halls, interessting shelfs strangely lighted by the moon, making each rock and fossil glow like in a weird dream. Let's not even talk about the dead animals, who look like they could come alive.
One of them is.
A small brown tabby cat is roaming through the aisle, curious about the newcomers. No one lives there anymore, as it seems...*
- I figured you would love the museum all for ourselves and, hum, the art ! Some artists must have lived here for a while and left their mark. Just at the beggining of it all. It's very... Touching. Most poems are about hope and seing the sun one day. It makes me feel better, strangely.
Beetle's eyes widened as he saw the museum.
"No way... This place is still standing!?"
As soon as Lucie led him inside, he was already looking and touching everything.
"I used to come here all the time as a kid!"
His eyes found one of the poems, his face softening.
"You're right... I wonder where they are now..."
He refused to acknowledge that they were probably dead.
He looked away from the poem, finding the cat instead. He gasped slightly.
"Lucie! Look at this little guy! Oh my god he's so skinny!"
He immediately knelt down, trying to call the curious cat over. He was always a sucker for animals.
"pspspsps... Come here buddy..."
*Lucie was quite happy with her surprise, seeing the light in Beetle's eyes. The place had a nostalgic feel, all silent and old, even a bit sad considering recent events, but beautiful nontheless. Touching was the word. It was certainly the place she loved the most recently. Before that it was the part of the hill that faced the forest.
But her train of thoughts is stopped when Beetle notice the cat.*
- Aw ! Hiii little guy...
*She crouches too, and tried imitating the voice of a calling cat, the little "Me-heh" that hers did to call his friends. But Beetle was the lucky guy and the cat chose him, rubbing against his legs like he had not received love in a while. It must have been a domesticated cat before that.
Lucie thought about Sylvester, Void's cat. Would he accept a friend ?*
- Aaawww lucky you !
*She does not know wich is cuter, the kitty all playfull or the love struck man beaming with simple joy.*
- I see I have lost a battle, but not the war !
*From her pocket, she retrieves a half eaten ham sandwich. The meat is pork, not human, fortunatly. She cannot digest it anymore and feel bad about wasting precious food, but it does calm her hunger...
She takes the ham out.*
- Let's see who is the favorite now...
Beetle giggled like a little kid as the cat rubbed up against his legs. He gave it plenty of scratches behind the ears.
"heheheh... Wait-"
He watched as the cat quickly switched over to Lucie as she took out the ham. He looked up at her with playful betrayal.
"How dare you!"
He dramatically gasped, clutching his heart.
"You wound me! Betrayed by my own friend!"
The cat happily rubbed against Lucie's legs, meowing. The tiny thing was clearly trying to bribe her with its cuteness.
*And the bribing did work wonderfully.
Soon the cat had something to gnaw on that was not museum mice and long dead animals with no meat on them. The little thing ate ravenously, under Lucie's carress and mesmerized eyes.
She laughed at Beetle's theatrics, a hearthy laugh that spooke the cat a little, but it came back quickly...*
- Forgive me, Pavel ! I just had to !
*She always called his real name a certain way she did not call the other. Maybe because it felt nice that this name was a secret of sort, something between them.
The "my own friend" stung her a bit. But she knew she should be grateful to even have him as a friend.*
- Hum... You know... About that.
*As the cat finished the ham, she even opened the bread to let it lick the butter off it. No food waste here, and the poor cat needed it !*
Beetle smiled, blushing slightly. He loved seeing her happy.
"Sighhhhhh.... You're forgiven... I guess."
He huffed, trying to hide his smile that he could get to go away.
He looked back at her as she said that, a bit confused.
"Hm?"
Did he say something wrong?
The cat happily licked the butter, not noticing the tension between the two visitors.
*Two visitors in an large abandonned building at night. If there is a human hiding here, this whole situation is a horror movie for them.
Or a weird rom-com
As Lucie is given a near perfect opportunity to open up, and yet decided to wait for perfect. She is just not brave enough yet.*
- Nothing, nothing, aha... I... I just wanted to say I am very glad to have you in my life, and you are someone very dear to me. I know this apocalypse is not the best moment for heart to hearts but...
*So. Close. Lucie. Please.
But she'd rather pick the cat up, holding it close against her chest, rashed hands rubbing his little body, while smilling a little sad smile
She left the bread for mices and little animals in the corner. All life that might reside here deserve it.
She dare look at Beetle, finally.*
- I really thought I had lost you forever, you know ..?
Beetle blinked, standing up. A small smile bloomed across his face.
"Awh... I'm glad you're here with me... You're definitely the most important person to me. I don't know what I would do without you!"
He looked down at the cat in Lucie's arms, reaching out to give them some head pats.
The cat purred, enjoying the attention that it clearly hasn't had in so long.
Beetle froze at that last sentence. He looked back up at her a bit nervously.
"Eheh... Are you talking about-?"
- Sorry, heu... what I meant is... I do care a lot about you. More than I care about anyone else in the house. And I think nothing could change that. And I wanted you to know it.
*He was the first visitor between the two and she still accepted him. And she immediatly forgive everything he could do. Even the most terrible things. He is the hill she could die on, defending him until her very last breath.
The cat struggled in her arms, wanting to be let go... Or to go up. On her shoulders, more precisly. She let him go up, laughing.
She does a little twirl with the cat on her shoulders, so happy to show off her special bond. Just to make Beetle jalous.*
- Aww ! Look !
*She laughs even more when he... Gnaw at her hair. Her cat back at home did the same. They loved her banana shampoo.*
- Hum... Do you... Did you have a favorite aisle here ? Anything you... Would like to show me ? I do want to learn a bit more about you. You lived here all your life ?
Beetle felt his face warm at that. He bit his lip, looking away, fidgeting with his thumbs. This was a good time to confess.
"I-..."
Why did he feel as if his throat was closing up? Why was it so hard to just get it out? Why was it so hard to say I love you?
He was snapped out of his train of thought by the cat climbing up onto Lucie's shoulders.
"Pff-"
He couldn't help the giggles that escaped him at the silly sight. Oh well, he could always tell her later.
"Looks like he really likes you! Especially your hair-"
He chuckled, covering his mouth with his hand.
"Hm? My favorite area? Well..."
He thought for a moment, running a hand through his hair.
"It's probably a bit obvious but..."
Beetle gently took her hand in his, leading her into the depths of the museum.
- Don't laugh and take him back aha, he will make a bald spot !
*She laughs while crounching to help the cat down, but he does not want to leave the pair yet and follows Beetle, now, maybe vexed Lucie refused the hair cut. Or maybe because he just was that charming.
That simple hand passed in his hair made some butterflies dance in Lucie's stomach. God she was helpless.
As she follows, gently guided by his hand, she smiles more freely. Her grip is stronger and more confident.*
- Of course... Silly me !
*Her tone is a bit teasing. This is not going to be a big surprise, given the gift he made her. But she must admit it was one of her favorites too. Maybe even the second, just after the pretty shining geodes !
Her thumb rubs against his hand, in a gentle caress.*
// This song makes me think of them, but also Lucille for some reason... That and Six Legs, for more obvious reasons !
Beetle grinned as they finally made it to the museums Insect collection. His blue eyes shined.
"Here we are! What do you think?"
The walls were covered in pinned bugs of all kinds, from beetles to butterflies. The lights that would have illuminated the exhibit were obviously not working anymore but the moonlight coming in from skylights in the roof gave the room an ethereal glow, the light reflecting off of the insect exoskeletons.
He squeezed her hand tighter, enjoying the touch.
"I think coming here as a kid may have been what inspired me to go into entomology."
Beetle looked over at Lucie with a soft look.
"Funny isn't it? How one thing can change your whole life..."
He looked back up at the exhibit with a smile, scooting closer to Lucie.
- Yes...
*She offers him a real smile, one that depeen her diples and show her new perfect teeth.*
- It makes me believe in Destiny, in a way.
*One little encounter, for exemple, could change everything. One inspiring sight or one perfect timed little word could open doors nobody even knew were closed.
The butterfly effect.
This was the perfect moment she was waiting for. The moonlight was simply magical. They were alone and both lighthearted. The cat was roaming around, calm witness of everything. The room was beautiful too, and symbolic : a full circle around Beetle's life. Beggining and Present, and maybe Future. The full moon was watching over the two visitors, protective of their secrets.
Everything was blue around Lucie, in a perfect picture. The night, most of the shining insects, her own clothes but more strikingly Pavel's eyes. Gosh. Did she ever took time to really notice them, and the joy lighting them ?
As she looks for a butterfly the same blue as Pavel's eyes, she takes a deep breath. Her heart is beating too hard. Surely it's trying to escape her chest ans take flight.*
- Pavel...
*She gives his hand a light squeeze.*
- I think I am in love with you.
Beetle froze at those words. Did he hear he correctly? Was his mind playing tricks on him? Was this a dream?
He quickly turned away from the exhibit, putting his focus directly on her, his eyes wide. He clutched her hands tightly. His face was flushed a beet red.
"I-I-"
Why won't his mouth work!?
"I-I... think I love you too."
He looked as if he would explode with how much he was trembling and how red he was.
- Really ?
*She smiles, not sounding as surprised as she pretends to be.
Something in her heart told her long ago he was hers and she was his. Maybe it was her cards or maybe it was just the looks they had for each other. That link that they had with no one else.
She takes both of his hands in hers, look shily in his eyes, cheeks red and a little tremble in her voice, as her eyes shine strangely in the moonlight.*
- Then, Pavel, is that the moment when we kiss ?
*She hopes this will not be the final blow for the poor man, even more affected and shy than she is ! They truly are made for each other !*
Beetle stared into Lucie's eyes, trying to get his body to respond. His eyes wide.
It was as if he was made of stone, really red, warm stone.
He slowly nodded, unable to get his lips to move. He really wanted to kiss her, why was it so hard?
*That nod was all she needed.
He looked petrified and for a moment she was scared he would run away from this perfect little date she planned, but that simple gesture told everything.
He was too flushed to act ? Not a problem !
Being sure of reciprocated feelings, Lucie felt confident... Enough.
Just enough to press his hands downwards, wich lowered him to her height, enough to tip toe, enough to close her eyes, enough to reach for his lips with hers.
Enough for a gentle first kiss.*
Beetle's eyes widened as he felt her lips press against his, they were so soft... Just like he imagined. He closed his eyes, his body finally letting him move.
He gently reciprocated the action. His lips were capped but not bad. It was almost impossible to have perfectly healthy lips in this heat nowadays.
He felt electricity buzz through his body as they shared this moment.
Not only was this their first kiss, it was also his.
Beetle pulled back slowly, opening his awe filled eyes.
"We just did that..."
*For her, it felt like falling into open sky.
The pure thrill, the rush of adrenaline, goosebumps all over her body.
When he pulls back, she opens her eyes again, trying to read his face. And smiled when she only saw love in it.*
- I think we just did, yes ...
*She barely speaks, a tiny whisper, as her own heartbeat deafen her. She feels ready to die, just here and there, at the peak of her emotions.*
- ... Again ? Just...
*Just to make sure. To make sure everything is decided, as if a kiss was a promise.*
- You are such a soft kisser. It looks like a first love, I... I want to feel that again.
*He was not her first kiss, oh no, but Lucie was shy, and bisexual in a time were it was still something uncommon and shamed. So, her love stories were short, as she always panicked and stopped before getting to attached. Before anyone can hurt her.
This time will be different.*
Beetle let go of her hands to wrap his arms around Lucie, pulling her closer. Now that they kissed once, it was a little easier to get comfortable with it.
"Alright..."
He leaned forward, closing his eyes and pressing another soft kiss to her lips.
He wanted to stay here forever.
*Of all -not that much- the kisses Lucie ever had, those were, strangely, the best.
Beetle was a bit shy, inexperienced, but also so gentle and caring, and desperatly in love too. And she felt like something was true.
Maybe she should have asked her silly cards if he was truly the One. Or maybe she knew for herself.
She leaves the kiss to take a breath. Her glasses are a bit foggy, due to both their breathing and the warmth she feels.*
- Aha... I can't see you ! Where are you...
*She jokingly mimick blindly searching for him, but it's just an excuse to cup his cheeks with her hands and lean in for a third kiss, playfull and sincere.*
- There you are !
*Maybe she should not joke about him dissapearing ? After all, it was her worst fear lately. How many nights did she had bad dreams about him... not being here anymore ? Leaving an empty space in the room and in her life ?
Better not to think about it.*
- All these butterflies and yet the prettiest blue around is your eyes. Even the moon is jalous of your beauty, Pavel. I must have a heart full of greed to think I deserve you.
*Very... Luciesque. But she says it with such a smile, it's clear she means it as a high form of compliment.
Somewhere around, there is small sounds. The walk of the cat, chasing museum mice, and some other night sounds. A owl, far away.*
Beetle giggled at her playfulness, smiling against her lips as she pulled him in for another sweet kiss.
"Awe! How'd you find me!?"
He laughed, his anxiety melting away like butter on a fresh loaf of bread.
Beetle's face flushed at that compliment.
"I don't know about that-"
He leaned in to press his forehead against hers, their glasses clinking together softly.
"I'm the one that doesn't deserve you... You're so kind and sweet and pretty and..."
He could go on for hours. He couldn't put into words how much he loved Lucie.
*Was Pavel trying to kill her with such sweet words ?
It was working. She felt like her heart was too big for her chest, full of love and hope, bursting inside her bones and flooding her veins with a radiating joy.*
- Then I think we are truly meant to be together, Destiny's scheme ! Written in the stars ! I do not even know why I kept it a secret for so long. It was all so obvious...
*How much time did they loose together ? Or did they ? No. Their friendship had been important and lovely ! Nothing to regret. Not a cloud in their sky.
And this was the perfect moment. The place, the new house, the world changing and them too.*
- I have loved you for a very long time. And yet I feel like our souls knew each other long before we met. I must sound weird. Blame all the books I read and my cards. But I feel like this is the kind of love poets write about.
*The poet being herself of course. Ah, truly she could die happy right here and now, wich such a sweet soul by her side, loved in each other's arms, forehead to forehead like cats greeting each others.*
Beetle chuckled softly. How could he have been so oblivious?
"heh... Did your cards tell you?"
He would believe it, he didn't doubt Lucie a single second.
"Yeah? Maybe you're right. Maybe we've been together in other lifetimes!"
Beetle smiled, brushing a few of the loose strands of her hair back.
"You are never weird to me..."
*She blushes some more and look away as Pavel touch her hair. She did put effort into it, she was so glad he noticed. Truly he was different !*
- I never dared to ask ! You know, there are rules to tarot. You never read for yourself. Nor for money. And only one person per deck. Energies and Aura thing... I did not really believe in it before but... With all the Aura Cam stuff... And the... "Magic" all around lately, and my dreams, I think maybe it could be real too. So I'm careful.
*What a chatter ! Lucie ! You got your man in your arms ! Is this the time for a lesson ? Hum. She can make it romantic. Trust in her.*
- But I did not need to ask the cards. I was sure for me. I just needed to tell you, and so I did. And now look.
*She gets on her tippy toes, giving a small kiss on Beetle's neck. He is not so tall, but she cannot really reach his lips... And the neck is such a good spot to kiss. A curve made for love, where one face fit so perfectly.*
- Now I know we knew each other in other lives. In different times, in different forms, but always each other, in a way.
Beetle blushed as she kissed his neck. He giggled softly, holding her closer, burying his face into her hair.
"I guess we really were meant to be..."
He pressed a kiss to Lucie's temple, smiling.
"What do they call that... Soul mates?"
- Soulmates, yes ! Exactly !
*He puts all her words in one, with the exact same feeling. Truly, the man a science had a poetic soul, too. She never doubted it.
A crash, somewhere. The cat probably did something... Well, no guardian to throw a hiss over a broken glass !*
- Ah ! It scared me...
*What a good excuse to hug Pavel tighter... As if she was fearing a cat !
Her sly little smile is enough to know her real intention.*
- I must say the field trips did give you a nicer physique I would except a fine insects connoisseur...
*Too shy to say it at full voice...*
Beetle jumped at the crash, his body tensing up. He relaxed as Lucie hugged him tighter. He chuckled as he saw her face.
"Oh you!"
He flushed as she said that.
"Heh... you're acting like I'm a body builder-"
- Oh no ! Not a body builder, do not say such horrors !
*How to answer with respect and dignity that the little layer of fat around the arms and belly make her feral ? That this exact outsdoorsy but still comfortable physique was peak male performance ? Optimum cuddle build ? Perfect boyfriend energy ?*
- You are absolute perfection the way you are and trust me I know what I am saying.
*She had no respectful words and just gave... A "ok" gesture of the hand and an appreciative face. A precursor of the Pasha meme in the emperor new groove. You see the one.
And she was right, objectivly. The adorable freckles everywhere she ever saw, and she saw a lot when he changed that... Terrible day we do not speak about. The perfect size for her not to break her neck when they kissed. Just perfect.
And what now ?
Compliments ? Endless kisses ?*
- The sun is rising soon. We have time to go to the base or... Stay here for the day. Have some calm and quiet. If you want to.
*Away from blood and misery for a day, but risking worrying the others, or coming back home and... Well, she does not know !*
Beetle flushed even more at that. As if it was possible for this poor man to get even more red.
He looked away, flustered at being called perfection.
"You flatter me too much..."
He sighed softly, looking back at Lucie. Their eyes met and he smiled.
"We can go back if you'd like. It will likely be safer back at the base instead of here where we could be found. Although I want nothing more than to stay..."
He closed his eyes, pressing their foreheads together once more. He just liked being close to Lucie.,
"It's your choice... I don't mind."
- I cannot flatter you enough !
*Lucie grins with joy, feeling overwhelmed with feelings. All positive. Life was so good, right this instant !*
- Then... I say we stay ! Just for the day. No one will really worry and we can explore, and speak, and be a bit alone... Away from all the noises and the people. I mean ! They are great ! And I love them all ! But... I also want to see just you... Right now.
*Her eyes shine in that romantic light, but she closes them at the bonk of their foreheads. Just like a cat. That was so adorable and pure. She could tell just how much of a romantic and naive soul he was... And she matched.*
- Maybe we could even find the cat back and bring him home to the base... Heh. Pax joked with me about kids, I'll tell her it's the kid in question ! I say... Jean-Eude for a name !
*The most ridiculous french name she could find on the spot. And she laughed from her own silliness.*
Beetle giggled softly, holding her close.
"It's settled then..."
He lit up at the idea of adopting the cat.
"Yes! Lucille would love a friend! Oh, what does the name Jean-Eude mean?"
He tilted his head like a confused puppy. His eyes shining in the light.
*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?

Not so final goodbye!
Pax and Alek were ready for their trip, their bags were packed, mostly just the most essential stuff, like her tools, sawing kits, more tools, metal pots, cutlery, blankets and clothes for the tiny, food that could last a good few months, as well as medicine, what they would need the most until they could get settled.
Little anya was strapped against pax's chest, Oliver and Mia with Alek since they were older and on solids, so they didn't need to be with mum 24/7.
Pax was making tea in the kitchen, she even took out biscuits, making tea for everyone, one last chat before her and Alek would leave.
IMPORTANT: ↓
*Lucie spent some time preparing some cinnamon and lemon biscuits for the little party, sure Pax was underestimating the number of people who would come. Also, it could be transported with ease and serve as ration in the mountains. She also prepared a big metal pot filled with packets of dry ingrendients, like lentils and rice. Weird gift but fonctionnal and probably something Pax would appreciate. Right ?
Of course her plus one would be her dear Beetle !
Her two objectives were not to cry and not to faint if Pax mentionned babies again.
She knocks on the door, while also speaking so her voice is recognized !*
- Knock knooock !
//Repost to answer to the right place ! Sorry dear I ping you twice ! @proudbeetledad !
"Oh hi Lucie, you came!" pax said, opening the door, giving her a big hug, it was nice to have a sister like her, and the biscuits were really tempting right now, she also noticed the big pot. "Awww You shouldn't have" she said, but glad anyways, grain like this was always welcome, it would last a while as well. Sure, it would be a tiny bit of trouble bringing it up, but her and Alek would find a way no problem
@proudbeetledad I'm gonna leave this here for you to take over
"Pax! Hi there! I haven't seen you in forever!
Beetle smiled, walking up to Lucie's side. He wrapped his arm around Lucie's waist, just wanting to be close to her.
// Sobbing I'm so late to this @tie-girl-lucie
*She accepts the hug with delight, melting into Pax's strong arms. Her first resolve was already weakening... Nooo do not cry Lucie be strong !
She looks at Beetle with the wettest eyes ever, looking for comfort.*
- Of course we came ! How could we not ?! Are there others yet ?
*She peaks her head through the door, seeing Doe and Spiral, waving at them !*
- Hiii guys !
// Do not worry ! @arimax001 @the-l0n3y-kid @spiraling-thoughts-and-hope !
Hi Mrs. Tie!!
..Mrs. tie why are you crying? Hmm?
Oh, uhm! I was telling Mrs. Pax on how I got my dress!!
<they nodded, it was true, they had to fight for this dress- hmph.>
Bah!
// tu for tag!! <3
"ya, now come on, before tea gets cold and Mia loses interest in Alek's clowning" pax said, rolling her eyes playful, Alek was keeping the kiddos entertained since they were teething and quite fussy lately, he was also quite introverted so he hid away whenever guests came over.
"little Doe here told me how they bit the officer, I'm quite proud" she said, ruffling the kids hair as she passed by, pouring tea into the two other cups. Her eyes lingered on beetle boy, shooting him a look that said 'I told ya she liked you and you could do it'
@tie-girl-lucie @proudbeetledad
Beetle chuckled, heading into the room with Lucie. He rolled his eyes playfully at Pax's look.
"Yeah yeah."
He perked up.
"Oh! Speaking of Mia and the kiddos, how are they? I never got to meet Anya!"
Not so final goodbye!

*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?
Human
Visitor
//his eyes make him look so freaky as a visitor- ALSO, DIGITAL ART HOLY SHIT!?
*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?
//Quick Tied up beetle doodle while I was with my uncle in the hospital
*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?

Mr. Betta' are you and Mrs. Tie together now? Are my brother in law now mista'?
- @the-l0n3y-kid
"Uh... I think so? Wait, How'd you know-"
*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?

*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?

*Okay.
// @tie-girl-lucie 🪼
// I guess we are after e v e r y t h i n g else for the sake of the timeline ? I need to complete mine ! Or before, to avoid the "I KILLED A CHILD" subject ?
