The woman knew her face was growing redder and redder by the second, and at the same time, she felt frozen in place. His wink only reassured her that he was enjoying it, and she could only laugh awkwardly when he said he felt better. “That was your plan all along, huh? And here I was thinking you were innocent.” Briar smiled and jokingly wagged her finger at him. “What did I tell you? I’m not going to get anything done today.”

"Oh, querida. I'm far from innocent. But I actually went for a walk with you because I really enjoy your company, not for what you're thinking now. I think you're the one that I thought was far more innocent" Leon said teasingly, raising a brow. Oh and how he was enjoying himself. Briar was easy to tease, she literally blushed at every second word. But it was charming, if he may say so, actually cute. "But not because of me, i'm here to help after all"

"That’s a bloody lie, maybe you just cured me?" They stood infront of her little shop by now, but Leon kept his arm around her shoulders and grinned as she fanned herself. "You even know what I said just there?" The last sentence was followed by a blush he certainly didn’t...

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound that creepy" Leon laughed softly, though he fully well had intended to say that. At first he thought she would find excuses so he won't, but the last statement gave him a feeling that she wouldn't mind it all too much actually. Grinning he rested his hand on her lower back and nodded. "Soup sounds good. Though you know, I feel a lot better already." He winked at her after the last part, enjoying seeing her flushed and all awkward at his words.

"A terrible influence. The things I could do today, which I could never do tomorrow!" He lauged, of course it was okay to skip a day once every year. Never was he sick enough to stay home, so no one would bat an eye if he called in sick for once. "Que? ah, mi querida esta...

"You even know what I said just there?" The last sentence was followed by a blush he certainly didn't fail to notice. "Thank you. You know, my place is always open for you. I mean that sounds weird but you know, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask."Leon smiled down at Briar and brushed a brown piece of hair behind her ear. It was lightly snowing and white flecks landed on her nose. Chuckling, he wiped them off with his thumb and rested his palm on her cold cheek. "You're cold, I think you need the soup as much as I do, hm?"

No one was passing the street on which they stood, no one was even coming their way. It had started quite a while ago that Leon actually heard footsteps from far away. But this time the only things he heard were some distant cars and her heartbeat. He had been staring down at her for quite a while by then, hand still resting on her cheek as his thumb traced her cheekbones. "If I hadn't been sick, I'd kiss you know" Leon said honestly and smiled lightly

She tried to look shocked when he’d decided to skip out on work. “Oh no, I’m a bad influence on you.” A mischievous look crossed her face. Briar shook her head at his mention of speaking Spanish. “Honestly, if you start speaking Spanish, I’m not going to get any of my own work done.” She joked and then giggled somewhat childishly, before her expression turned more serious. “I couldn’t take advantage of you while you’re sick.”

And you promised me soup at yours, so i'm just making up for it, querida."

The brunette could feel her face reddening at his question, that she would have to tell him. But she would be honest, because it wasn’t her intention to invoke jealousy. Briar wasn’t that kind of person. So she smiled and shrugged. “I had planned on bringing one of them to you,” she started, glancing down. “So you just saved me a trip.” Finishing what was left from her own cup, she dropped it into a nearby trash can, looking back at him with a raised brow. “I should feel honored then, that you would think of skipping work just to hang out with the crazy future cat lady.” At that, she grinned widely. “Your company isn’t too bad either.”

"You did?" Leon was honestly surprised at her answer. So she had been wanting to see him? And there he thought he was the only one seeking her company. A grin made its way on to his face and he looked down with a soft chuckle. "Thank you." He quickly looked at her again and laughed loudly. Neither of them knew how close she was to be a cat lady already. Leon threw his empty cup away too and buried his hand in his pocket, pulling her closer with a chuckle. "So, I don't even feel that bad anymore but i'm going to call in sick anyway. You need a cheap worker for today? If you want I can start speaking spanish so you got more of a 'helping an immigrant' feeling. Though it's free work. You know, for the coffee."

"What’s there to feel bad about? I had an extra coffee that I didn’t happen to need, and you took it off of my hands." She couldn’t keep a straight face, and began to laugh. But she had failed to mention that she’d bought the extra coffee with the idea of taking it to him anyway. Briar had been so busy laughing that she hadn’t really paid attention to the closeness between them now, or that her arm had found its way around his waist. She quickly dropped it down and smiled sheepishly. "O-oh no, if anything, I’ve been the one that’s held you up. I’m sorry."

"Why did you even buy two coffee in the first place? Either you needed them both or you had a date before you met me" He said teasingly and raised a brow at her, a mischievious grin on his face. Though he actually hoped that neither was the case, since the first would make him feel bad about drinking one and the second inflicted emotions he'd prefer to keep well hidden. Especially since he had never been jealous of anyone in his life. Liking somene that much had just never been the case for him. "No, i was early anyway and I could still call in sick. Which never seemed as good of an idea as now. I do prefer spending time with you than working. Which is a first"

At least you know what awaits you in the future. At that thought, Briar could only hope that her mouth wasn’t gaping wide open. But she manages a smile, and found the whole thing to be oddly cute, even as he kept talking. It didn’t bother her. Then again, why should it? “I’m closing early today to restock, so you can drop by whenever you’re done. Since you insist on working instead of taking my advice and getting some rest.” The last part is said in a more serious tone, but she leans over to nudge him, knowing that if she was in his position, she’d probably be working instead of resting too. “Sound good?”

People probably found them weird, looking at each other in silence. He was staring at her, a warm grin on his face. "I'll come over once i'm  done, should I bring coffee? Since you gave me this one and I already feel bad about it on top of the spreading my germs and soup thing." Leon nudged her back lightly and moved his arm over her shoulders instead. "Sounds perfect. So, hope I didn't hold you up. Wouldn't be able to live knowing you missed out the big thing"

She held a hand over her heart and pretended to look shocked before laughing. “How rude, indeed! I take it back, your germs are just lovely.” Her nose crinkled up when she grinned. “And what state would that be? Nothing would change my mind about it. The sooner we get you better, the sooner we can go.” Her face reddened just the slightest, and Briar had to laugh it off nervously. “But of course you should accept my offer, or I might get offended.”

"I do hope so!" Leon patted her arm laughing, bumping her side once again as they walked. "Are you sure? You're right, at least you know what awaits you in the future" As soon as he had said that, he regretted it. That sounded like they'd be in a relationship in the future. Which could easily scare her off or creep her out. Though he grinned lightly at at 'the sooner we can go'. "I'm ready any time, a cold won't stop me from taking my lovely Briar out. I mean, from taking you out." Strike the second. You're on a roll Leon! "Alright, When do you expect me for our soup date?"

She made a face when he mentioned coughing up something, and then smirked at the change of subject. “I’m fine. You should be resting, though. Not running around spreading your germs to everyone else.” Briar laughed, but genuinely hated that was sick. She took a sip of her coffee, a thought popping into her mind that brought a beaming smile onto her face. “Of course if you decided to stop by later, there might just be some soup waiting for you.”

"I'm not spreading my germs, but if so; do you want like my germs? That's rude." Leon nudged her side chuckling as the wind blew around their heads. "Hmmm should I accept that offer? I'm not sure letting you see me in that state would do any good to the whole 'go out with me' thing." He said jokingly, smiling down at Bri that had her usualy, bright grin on her face. Of course he'd go. In all honesty, he wasn't even sure he could say no to that.

It was surprising, but instead of pulling away or falling into that familiar pattern of panic, Briar only found herself standing there and smiling when he kissed the top of her head. The action, and his presence, felt comforting. “I thought I would try to beat the crowd. Lucky for both of us, I did.” She looked around at the crowded shop and the long line, happy that she able to be of some help. When he mentioned that he’d been sick all night, the smile on her face began to disappear. “You’re sick?” she asked, a hint of worry in her voice. The woman paused just long enough to loop her arm around his and nod towards the door. “Walk with me? The fresh air might help, and you can tell me all about it.”

"You just keep sweetening up my days, Bri." He said with a wide smile on his face as he took a sip of coffee before he cleared his throat to surpress a cough. Actually, having her around was enough to brighten up his mood. Though Leon had expected her to take her leave after he kissed her forehead. Not that he was complaining as she looped her arm around his and offered him a walk. With a warm smile, he lead her outside the crowded place and held up the door for Briar. "I'd love to. but there isn't much to tell you about it. And I don't think you'd want to know what i've been coughing up. At least I highly doubt it. Change of topic, how are you?"

Catalina was instantly intrigued. She moved slightly closer to him. “I would love that.” She tried not to seem too excited but maybe there was some chance she could control a human. Cat was getting good with animals, but she realized only a human’s own soul could move it’s body. “Time and place.” She said, more a command than a question.

"I was on my way, just getting a coffee before going there. But we're going to the pathology to go through some files." Leon looked down at Catalina. Something told him to not do it, but he was far to interested for his own good probably. Doctors usually just showed him the corpse, then left so he could note down everything that his clients had told him to inspect them further. "I'll take you with me"

"Esta bueno.*" Catalina said. Her anger disappearing when she realized that it was Leon. "Buenos dias Leon."

"Te tambien" Leon sighed softly but smiled at Catalina. Well, at least he didn't bump into anyone that'd make his blood boil even more. "What are you doing here so early in the morning? Don't you appreciate sleep?" He asked with a small chuckle, tilting his head aside. Just then he remembered something. "By the way, I got...an appointment. So if you want to join, I'm the only one assigned to the job" Careful. He had to be careful with his choice of words in a crowded place like that. His police department was suspicious of him anyway, not really liking the way he solves crimes. Not that he cared. But getting fired wasn't something he aimed to do.

She was thankful it hadn’t taken that long in line, for her at least. Briar had been standing off to the side, adding cream to one of the cups of coffee she’d bought, when she heard someone speak up. It was fairly early and she could understand their irritation. When she turned to look, she saw that it had been Leon, who looked to be apologizing to the person in front of him. With a smirk on her face, she picked up the two coffees and headed in his direction. “Looks like someone had a late night,” she said, chuckling. Briar held out one of the cups towards him and smiled. “Coffee?”

Leon just crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his head back, as he heard a familiar voice speak to him. He quickly threw his head aside, facing a smirking Briar. A grin slid on his face, bad mood vanished in an instant as he took the cup. His hand reached out to place itself on the back of her head, then he pulled her close and kissed the top of her head grinning. "You saved me, Bri. Late night doesn't even come close to it. I've been sick all night, still am. Why are you so early?" Seeing her before work was lifting his mood up, though. She always had that calming effect on him and would make him smile. Leon liked her, a lot. Ever since that accident he had been thinking about Briar and feeling the urge to protect her.

A humming laugh sounded in her throat, “I’m sure it is.” Nadia felt like he words weren’t true. She could almost see the sarcasm dripping from her morning greeting. That may have just been her goggles for disliking most of the people in this town, until she could move forward with what she came here to do, Nadia would pick apart every being in Hollowshire. “You sounded like a toddler having a temper tantrum just a moment ago.” Her brows raised, curious to what he had to say. 

"Have you ever tried using your badge to cut in line?" She asks, smiling as her head titled to the side lightly. "I’m sure if you flashed it people would step out of your way. Maybe then we would be safe from your flailing arms too." Nadia held no respect for Leon, which was a shame in her eyes seeing as he was very easy on the eyes. But having no respect for someone didn’t mean that they could not be used in someway, thus, she had to try and play (somewhat) nice for the time being. Which was so far proving to be difficult.

"I don't think you should be the one talking, i thought you were one of those twelve year old girls that usually visit this store before you turned around. I simply don't enjoy brainless people that take half an hour deciding whether they want milk or not in their coffee. Pardon me" Both sounded pretty childish, probably. Though both were far beyond the part where they're suppose to care. It had been like that since they met and it was obvious that neither thought highly of the other.

"I don't support using my badge that way. I got morals, after all. But don't worry, next time i'll make sure to check for the witch of Oz before entering. I should've smelled you miles away anyway, you practically bath in perfume" Leon nodded forward as the line walked close to the cashier and Nadia failed to notice since she was facing him.

Hearing the person heave a sigh behind her of her, Nadia clicked her tongue off of the roof of her mouth. The blonde was usually a very calm, patient person but what normally agitated the woman were the vibes that others would give off. The male behind her was clearly irritated for having to wait in line, but what else could he have expected? This could very all be the only Starbucks for the next few towns over and people loved their commercial quality coffee and dessert drinks. Nadia rolled her eyes at the man as he called outward and bit her tongue, deciding not to inject herself within the situation - that was before he had ended up elbowing her, the unexpected nudge made her jump slightly and she clenched her jaw. She spun around, ready to snap, but her expression quickly changed seeing a familiar face that she loved to bug, probably a bit too much. “Ah, it’s quite alright. I’m not all that surprised to witness such childish behaviour from you, Leon.” A mischievous smile ghosted upon her lips.

Great. Out of everyone in that damn town, he had to meet Nadia. Leon had to hold himself back not to roll his eyes at the blonde beauty. Though her appearance certainly didn't match her attitude. At least towards him. Maybe he should've aimed for a better spot to hit her with his elbow... But the thought quickly vanished. "Nadia. What a pleasure to meet you this early in the morning already." He replied, smiling at Nadia. There'd been enough talk in the office already. Not that he cared all too much about gossiping and he tried to be nice to most at work, but seeing someone before work started was a bit harder. "Childish behaviour?"
