You don’t owe your abuser anything. 

You don’t owe them a chance to be heard out.  You don’t owe them forgiveness.  You don’t owe them your time, your presence or your energy. 

You don’t need to make exceptions for the holidays or other circumstances (like them being very sick). 

You don’t owe them anything.  (Also on the flip side of this, if you do forgive them or allow them space in your life, it does not invalidate your abuse or trauma. But it should be something you do because you want to, not because someone else wants it.)
