big brother who is always there. pinching your cheeks and ruffling your hair. complaining about you drinking all the milk. serving you slightly burnt food and threatening you to hush and eat it. checking for monsters under your bed. holding your hand when you cross the road. taking you to concerts with him and letting you sit on his shoulders. introducing you to his friends - "don't talk to these guys though, kiddo. they're weird. just be my friend!" - painting your nails. loving you endlessly in his own special way, just for you.

My resolution last year was to do one thing before bed that would make my morning feel easier, and that’s become a daily habit that I’m carrying into this new year.

Some nights even filling up the kettle and setting an empty mug out for my morning tea felt hard. But I was always thankful for it in the morning.

Other nights, one thing would lead to another, and I’d wake up in a clean house with everything ready to go.

And, on a rare few nights, the one thing that I could do to make my morning easier was going straight to bed and allowing myself to rest.

What stayed the same each day is that I would take a moment to think of what I could do for my future self and do it, even after a hard day. And I would wake up knowing that I had done my best and any effort—no matter how small—was a kindness to myself.

an idea for long distance regressor friends. i feel like it's super important to keep physical media and snail mail alive! (especially with the efforts in the U.S. to privatize the USPS)

if you have a regressor friend who you trust, have known for a long-time, etc. you can send them mail! you can also do a P.O. box. NEVER just give out your address to strangers from the internet. send stickers, letters, postcards, coloring pages.

activity / exchange ideas:

sticker trading, bookmark trading, postcard trading, art / doodle trading

completing coloring pages (you color half, they color half)

other kinds of art collabs (you sketch, they color and stuff)

polaroids or just printed photos in general can be shared

send each other stuff for collages and junk journaling like magazine clippings

language writing learning, if your penpal knows a language you're trying to learn then they can help correct errors in your writing! and vice versa

you can also upcycle materials for this. cardboard, post-its, notebook paper, recycled paper, and more!

if you love the movie coraline like me.... you might want a coraline themed playdate for you and your friends! these are just kind of ideas compiled together for you to pick and choose from to make a fun little coraline themed playdate!

locations: - home (decorate with fairylights, flowers, stars, and whimsy!) - gardens or parks with lots of flowers activities: - make dolls of each other! these don't have to be human either. you can make a puppy with felt and button eyes for your puppy regressor friend! but get some felt or fabric, stuffing, thread, etc.! you can find different sizes of needles for thicker materials too - have a tea party! doesn't have to be a traditional tea party. get some fun plates and silverware, your plushies and a colorful tablecloth! set up some battery powered candles on the table and have fun! - play pretend circus! jump around, do tricks, show off your weird talents, play silly fun music - scavenger hunt! look for hidden buttons and painted rocks and various things. there are lots and lots of types of scavenger hunts foods, snacks and drinks: - mashed potatoes and gravy - hard candies, peppermints - cream soda and root beer floats - cake with candles - ants on a log (cellery, peanut butter and raisins) - mini cupcakes - pizza - bugs made of candy and chocolate - cotton candy
