   Kageyama certainly wasn’t observant, so he didn’t notice the way that the

     older was looking at him in that moment, but he did notice that he was 

     looking at him in general. It made him happy because Oikawa made him 

     happy. What a strange thought he’d never thought he’d think in his life.

   “I’ll wear it a lot!” he shouts in excitement, as if anyone even really needed

     to shout something like that. That alone showed that he was truly happy

     about the gift and he didn’t want to try and hide it like Oikawa often did.

   After dying down from that excitement, he watches Oikawa question him as 

     he collapses into the couch. He longingly stares after the older, wanting to

     curl up against him but finds that he’s far too embarrassed to initiate it 

     himself. He’ll just cope with it…it wasn’t like he couldn’t live without it, 

     right?

     “I wanted one.”

    “Not even a cake!”

       “What a laaaame birthday~”

       A carefree, amused laugh resonates from his lips. Honestly, how was Tobio even celebrating his birthday? Well, apparently, he wasn’t. Tooru can’t help but find that funny, even if they’re... dating, Tobio is still his insufferable kouhai. Looking completely fine with having no one to celebrate his birthday. Even worse, looking utterly delighted that it’s only Tooru here to do so. Ugh, what an annoying idiot. It leaves a bad taste in Tooru’s mouth. In his stomach. It’s a sensation he doesn’t like. The older setter stop laughing then to stick his tongue out at Tobio.

   “Though it’s not so lame since I’m here. That alone makes it the best birthday in the world.”

      “Sooo~...” He isn’t worried for Tobio having no one to celebrate his birthday with. Not at all. It’s only an unspoken law that everyone must have cake in their birthday. So stretching his long legs, Tooru smiles at Tobio as he gets up in one swift and quick movement. “Let’s go get you a cake! My treat.”

He misses Oikawa, even though he doesn't care to admit it, but every fiber of his being misses him. That's why he shows up to his door that day, late gift in hand, something that he hopes Oikawa will like. A green shirt with white alien heads littered all over it in the form of a pattern, truly showing that he had paid attention to Oikawa's alien obsession. He can only hope that the other likes it as much as he assumes that he will.

   Christmas is basically just as any other festivity is for Tooru. Filled with visits to Hajime’s house and a mailbox almost exploding with gifts from his fans. Being completely honest, he doesn’t expect any more. Maybe some presents from his team mates and friends, but that’s it. So when Tobio knocks at the door with a package in hand, it basically makes the world stop. Chestnut eyes widden, for just half a second, he is caught by surprise. It’s a sensation he doesn’t like, it’s a strange tightening in his chest, for having empty hands. that he doesn’t recognize. Tooru doesn’t know how to react, and just like in all the occasions in which he doesn’t, he makes fun of Tobio. Regaining his fachade faster than he lost it.

   “Oooh~? Tobio-chan bought me a Christmas present? Does it come with a love letter?”
