When Edward had left for the UK, Christian had figured that Lex would follow. It hadnât surprised him yet at the same time, he couldnât help but feel a little deflated at being left behind. He didnât blame them, he never would. But, he also wished he couldâve returned with them. But, his time in London was long over, he felt. The only way he would go back now was to dance on Jamesâ grave and send him off to hell where he belonged. Instead of moping around, he threw himself into work once more, and extra curricular fucking that had kept him occupied and his thoughts far from cerulean hues that haunted his dreams. Chalked it up to fun times, the memory of her beneath him that night in her suite a treasured memory.Â
What he hadnât expected was to be fully booked out by just one guest, for the entirety of Valentineâs day. Heâd usually get a few bookings, he was by no means a bragger about his prowess but heâd become popular over his time at the resort, so to see the one sole name had been jarring until he noticed who it was. Lex. So, to give her her moneys worth, he arrived just prior to midnight, waiting until the clock struck midnight exactly before he knocked on the door, dressed in the suit heâd worn to dinner that night, he leant up against the doorframe, hands behind his back as he gave her a smile when she appeared. âYour escort, princess.â
Everything had been so fast when Edward finally came to her ready to leave. At first, she was sad, but then the princess had decided she had a duty to herself and her country, so she packed and left without even a word. The entire ceremony of Edward being crowned was nerve wracking, she was now second in line, and all the while she just wanted one singular person to be beside her, though she knew that bridge was long since burned. Blown up, more accurately. When everything was finished, she couldnât help but tell Edward she had some finishing of business to do, and was on the next flight to Copenhagen. Being back now, it was a bit odd, she was so nervous to see Christian, though not nervous enough to not rent him fully for the day. She had the funds.
The princess was awake, she had only just gotten back, so she was still settling in and getting out all her needed items. Until she heard his knuckles rasp against her door. Lex would be lying if she said she didnât feel butterflies in her stomach, but she would not admit that to him either way. The princess pulled at the door, a smile on her red lips when she saw him. âHi.â She said, a bit breathless as the sight of him had taken it away, as cliche as that was. âHappy Valentineâs Day.â Added she after a second to recover from seeing him all dressed. She didnât expect him to be here so early, but she wasnât complaining either. âI missed you.â
