This blog is mostly for my bitching and sharing my Unverified Personal Gnosis, as a lot of my specific traditions and spells are held closely to myself.
I grew up non-religious, did a love spell at 14 (no, it didn't work, thank God), and eventually fell into Christianity and the craft at roughly the same time.
My faith and my craft are inseparable, so you'll often find those are intertwined in what I post. Or I'll complain about the state of the American Evangelical church. Depends on the day.
(No one cares but I spend little time on social media (mental health, yo), but I do often finding myself checking in on tumblr every week or so. I dearly love my mutuals and this witchy space of the internet, but the tumblr algorithm is shit my man)
next saturday, august 1, is lughnasadh and lammas! 🌾
i celebrate this holiday as the first harvest festival of the year. in my practice, this holiday is best suited for transformation, reaping, prosperity, fruitfulness, abundance, protection, and boundary-laying. i also enjoy doing crafting and cooking rituals during this time, with the god lugh in mind. i love gifting food and garden goods during this time of year, so i call this holiday in my personal practice sharemas.
the full moon falls earlier in the week, peaking on wednesday the 29 at 10:35am, which i will make a post about as well. if i was doing an abundance ritual id probably do it this week, leading up into the full moon, before the moon wanes for lughnasadh.
i do like to celebrate these seasonal festivals with a big bonfire most of the time, complete with dancing and milling around the fire. this festival i will also likely make dinner to eat at the fire or maybe just cook hot dogs above the fire.

I asked one of clergy two questions and here were her answers
1. Does being on substances make visions and revelations less valid/real?
A: Definitely not. In fact, if substances are what gets someone closer to God, they are welcome to continue those substances (unspoken subtext since Tumblr is the piss on the poor website: obviously not to their detriment, and if someone wants/feels like they should get off substances, of COURSE they should). She also adds that she will always give money to homeless people if she can/has it, even if that person may spend it on drugs, since 1. that's what they most need at that moment, and 2. the drugs may be what connects them more to the divine.
2. Did John trip balls on an island and write Revelation?
How do I convey that no, jeans really are dressing up for me. No seriously, why are you guys laughing. No I wear long skirts normally-why are you laughing at me? Wdym I have it backwards? Guys I wanna serve cunt,, GUYS
I love the little floors I sweep,
the stove for tea, the hearth I keep.
I love the paintings on the walls,
the faded rugs and crooked halls.
The windows, even with their cracks,

I think one thing I can share as a Christian witch is that
Y'all are beefing with evangelicals, but they think Catholics/Orthodox are heretical too
A lot of times I see atheists and pagans* biting back at conservative evangelicals (rightly so) for the mockery of witchy, new age, or even just non-religious practices.
The heart is in the right place but, off the top of my head, these are the ones I generally see referenced:
Holy water, when our tools are mocked
Rosaries and saint medallions, when protection charms/bags are mocked
Smoke cleansing, when incense is used in Orthodox churches
Ancestor veneration, when Catholics pray to saints
The problem with the "oh so I can't ____, but you can ____?" argument is that the people yelling at folks for these practices are also yelling at Catholics/Orthodox/Non-evangelical protestants for these things too.
Evangelicals are typically VERY prescriptivist about what you can and can't do in worship/spirituality. Generally, the held belief is that if it's not mentioned in the Bible, you can't do it.
Communion, baptism, gathering as a church, tithing, corporate prayer, confession of sin, benediction (blessing), singing, etc; all approved.
My point: you can't convince an evangelical to respect the things you do because it's similar to something Catholics/Orthodox do. There's a good chance they (at least privately) hate them more than you, since as a "follower of Christ" they should "know better" (real thing I heard a lot).
That's not to say arguing these things is NEVER valid, because watching a civil argument is more useful for bystanders looking on than the person you're actually arguing with.
*atheists and pagans may be a little too generalized but it is normally these groups I see in arguments.
The Samhain Ultramarathon | 100 Days of Witchcraft
"Etheri, why are you talking about Samhain already? It's still Spring where you live..." shhh...
October 31st is my favorite day to be a witch! I find myself looking forward to it throughout various times of the year. So, this year, I decided to make a little "challenge" for myself in the days leading up to Samhain, and I wanted to invite others to participate ^.^
Starting July 23rd, I'd like to invite you all to join me for what I'm calling "The Samhain Ultramarathon!"
The challenge itself is to touch your Craft for 100 days in a row! Starting July 23rd, the task is to do something, anything, witchy each day, counting down to October 31st. Some days can be as simple as just updating your grimoire or lighting a stick of incense, while other days can be more elaborate spells or rituals. The ultimate goal is to touch your practice at least once a day, even for just one minute, for 100 consecutive days! It'll be like a spiritual marathon... hence the name :P
I'm sharing this now, over two months out, to give anyone who may want to participate time to coordinate! If you want to share your preparations and if you want to share your "marathon experience" once the challenge itself starts, please use the tag #TheSamhainUltramarthon !
Listen I'm such a half assed witch that basically all of my spells have an unintended consequence (except my baneful workings?) since I don't usually put too much thought into HOW the magic could take that path forward.
Think money spell that gets fired, but eventually gets you a better job. Sweetening spell that puts you and the target into a huge fight, which is the catalyst to improving the relationship on both sides.
That, but every. fucking. spell.
It's like all my non-baneful workings need to have genie-like protection built in but I just never fucking do it.
Beginner Friendly Spells - Draw in Inspiration Spell Jar
This spell is used to draw in inspiration for whatever creative project you need to complete. Its two main ingredients utilize small doodles to represent the goal you want to achieve and anise seeds or oil to actually draw in the inspiration itself. These ingredients alongside the spell tag are charged with water. This spell jar can also be turned into an amulet and carried around with you to help you with bursts of inspiration throughout the day.
You’ll Need:
A piece of paper – Used as a spell tag
A pen – To write on the spell tag
A small jar (corked preferred) – To hold all the ingredients
Light Blue Wax – To seal the top and represent creativity
Twine (Optional) – To wrap around the top before sealing to turn into an amulet
Anise seeds or anise oil – Used to draw in inspiration
Small doodles – Used to represent that we want to draw in inspiration for creativity
Water – To fill the jar the rest of the way and to cleanse the small jar
Instructions:
Start by washing your small jar well to clean it of dirt, debris, and negative energies.
On your piece of paper write down the following intent:
"This jar is a magnet for inspiration and brings bursts of inspiration my way so I may (Insert your creative goal here)."
Cleanse your anise seeds or oil in whatever way you see fit.
Focus on the inspiration behind your doodles and focus on that while you add your doodles to the jar.
If using anise seeds instead of anise oil add the seeds to the jar focusing on the following intent:
"These anise seeds grow into bouts of inspiration so I may (Insert your creative goal here)."
Add water to fill the rest of the small jar.
If using anise oil instead of anise seeds add 3-5 drops focusing on the following intent:
"The anise oil is bursting with inspiration and allows me to (Insert your creative goal here)."
Cap the jar.
Shake the jar to really mix everything together.
If turning it into an amulet:
10. Cut the twine long enough to wrap around the bottle neck several times plus the amount needed to make your amulet to the desired length.
11. Wrap the twine around the neck of the jar leaving some wiggle room in the middlemost strand.
12. Taking both ends of the twine thread them through the middlemost strand in an x pattern.
13. Tie the twine in a knot to complete the amulet’s cord.
14. Finalize the spell jar by melting down some light blue wax and pouring it over the top to seal it.
