Path and Practice survey!
I'm trying to catch up on some of the mentions I missed during my break tee hee
I was tagged by the kind @bubblefemmes to participate in this survey! Thank you for tagging me!! <3 Sorry for being a few weeks late
I won't be tagging anyone, however I do invite everyone who sees this to participate!
✨Here is a fun little survey for anyone who wants to participate. You do not have to be tagged or receive any asks to join. You do not have to be a @pathandpractice tag member to participate. It is not an ask game; just a good, old fashion myspace-style survey. Just copy this post questions, post your answers, and (if you feel like it) tag a few blogs. Please keep this description and credit to @pathandpractice when reposting. ✨
If your magic had a soundtrack, what would be its theme song? I don't have a specific song BUT the soundtrack would be full of whimsical harpsichord.
What’s the weirdest substitute component you’ve ever used? I don't know if it's "weird", but in my early days I used nail glue in a love spell I did on behalf of a friend of mine. The results were intense!! I ended up needing to reverse it, and the logical solution was nail polish remover. It worked!
What’s a superstition you don’t believe in? I'm not afraid to blow out my candles. I don't even remember where that superstition came from, I just remember seeing "Don't blow out your candles, it'll insult the fire spirit!" all over TikTok one day a few years ago.
What’s your most chaotic spell outcome? How off-target did it go? This is more mundane, but it's probably the time I learned the hard way not to burn whole cloves. They explode.
What’s something "completely mundane" that feels magical to you anyway? AIRPORTS!! All the people coming and going, the energy just buzzes!
If your intuition had a voice, who would it sound like? My voice with a really bad Australian accent (I'm not kidding and it's a long and embarrassing story.)
What kind of magic do you think you are/you would be bad at, and why? I can not wrap my head around astrology 😭 I really wish I could get it, but it just doesn't click in my head!
What’s a sign or omen you completely misread at first? When my puppy was about 6 months old I jokingly let him pick a Tarot card from my hand with no real intention of taking it seriously. It was the Tower, which at the time I thought was a funny coincidence. What followed was one of the most intense Tower moments of my life that lasted for months and that I'm only just now beginning to rebuild from. My puppy may be psychic.
If your altar could judge you, what would it say you’ve been neglecting? Probably the amount of stains I'm procrastinating cleaning on my altar cloth tee hee
What fictional universe would your magic thrive in? The Tolkien-verse, 100%!
What is a witchcraft-related hill you will die one? The Wheel of the Year is over-hyped, and I'm saying this as a girl who loves an excuse for a holiday! My issue with the Wheel of the Year is how it combines celebrations from various cultures with no concern for the cultural context said celebrations stem from. It's become such a source for misinformation too... and I don't like how it's marketed as a "one-size fits all" type of thing that all witches must follow. I strongly encourage every witch to make their own "wheel of the year" with observances that fit their unique practice!
What’s a habit you have that accidentally turned into a ritual? I kiss everything. I kiss my tarot deck, my sun's urn, my candles, my hagstone, my herbs... I don't even remember why I do it sometimes, I just do!
If your could take the shape of an animal for a day, which one would you choose? A dove! I'd love to fly around
What’s something you’ve outgrown spiritually, but still feel nostalgic about? Crystals. I used to feel such a strong connection to them, but somewhere along the way my view of them became much more... practical? I used to really believe in there metaphysical power, to the point to where my practice was heavily crystal based. I still use crystals, but I use them now with more knowledge of the geology and chemistry behind them. I really enjoy this new outlook that I have and it's super helpful... but I do miss how mystical crystals used to be.
If your magic had a moral alignment (chaotic, lawful, neutral), how accurate would it be? Chaotic good, and I think it would be decently accurate.
What’s a belief you held early in your practice that makes you laugh now? I ALMOST fell for the Starseed BS. Thankfully 18 year old me was smart to realize how harmful it was within, like, 24 hours. 😭
If you could bottle and save one feeling for spellwork, what would it be? Antici................. pation!
What’s your “this shouldn’t work, but it does” method? If a pesky, unwanted spirit is bothering you, the best solution I have found is to ignore it. You'd think doing nothing would do nothing, but after realizing they won't get a rise out of you 99% of "harmful" spirits will eventually just leave you alone lmao
What’s the most aesthetic over practical thing you’ve done in your practice? When doing knot magic, if the knot I tie doesn't look pretty I'll undo it and redo it until it looks better. A small, vain part of myself believes that if the knot doesn't look good then the spell's outcome won't look good.
If your practice had a warning label, what would it say? WARNING, this witch will ramble. Please practice caution when asking her questions; you may not get the answer.
What was the first magical/witchcraft book you ever read? I would argue that the book of Psalms is witchy book as the Psalms make for some pretty good incantations, so... but, since I'm sure that's not what this question actually means, I think the first witchcraft specific book I've ever read was "Wicca, A Guide For Solitary Practitioners" by Scott Cunningham (I don't remember anything about it, though, other than that it made me decide that Wicca was not my path."
