just finished. the comic is incomprehensible at this point im not sure what it is trying to say. whatever. now i can move on.
you see communism is when i take your toothbrush
i started reading the comic, then got distracted, but since i dont have much better to do, i decided to see what happens next. and it geniuenly just gets worse and worse...
i cant treat you seriously if you say "why dont you read actual good animal comics" and then recommend "ghost of the gulag" you arent a serious person...
this is embarrassing... how can you treat this seriously...

ironically im more lenient towards the work because of my personal feelings on erm. you know.
also obviously the insensitive authorial comments.
TDS is interesting because you do see the skeleton of the authors vision and the vision is almost there, but it has a glaring thorn in the middle. the good man who needs to be a good man he needs to be one of the good ones. despite being complicit (and i mean, he is literally covering his rapist brother) and i feel alot of the flaws could be forgiven if he was written with more criticisms.
still its kind of hard to call it "one of the worst indie animal comic to be ever written" it isnt anywhere close... it has ideas about itself but couldnt quite get them...
maybe another issue is that it both wants to be naturalized horse fiction and a story about horses with human concepts of morality. because then you experience tension, because you did not draw the line.
maybe it would have worked better if belif in immortal dragon was something already estabilished, instead of callys invention. then he is taking advantage of already existing system..
thinking about another comic. but i guess the confusing part about TDS comic was that the author comment seemed to contradict what happened on screen. do you not understand what you wrote? as depiction, while not perfect, it was coherent. im not sure why would you say that.
i wonder if the language barrier was specifically constructed by magic, rather than being "natural". we already have a suggestion that the barriers might be crossed outside of partnering (even if its the case with two characters who due to their circumstances process this language in "atypical" way) but who knows..
also the language barriers... i have a theory about them but im not sure if im right
no it is actually interesting... because within the story partnering is a very intimate act. and both with language surrounding it and what it is i mean it reads as sexual. but its also not...
