It was getting late, but Elizabeth preferred the town after the street lights went on. It was empty and there wasn’t many people to stop you along your way. Her coach kept them running drill two hours after practice was supposed to be over. The blonde didn’t mind though, the rest of the team needed to step it up.
It was the perfect time in which she loved to walk and just think. It was something she did a lot the past couple months. Ever since two agents came to her current foster home and asked her about her father. Suprisingly the old bastard had finally managed to escape prison, but that had been the first she had heard about him over nine years.
The authorities didn’t expect a soon to be sixteen year old to know much about a father who she had last seen when she was six, but she might have seen SOMETHING. After the initial questioning, they simply left and she hadn’t heard a word afterwards.
Adjusting the large duffel that held her skates and hockey uniform, another feeling creeped into her consciousness - that someone was watching her.
She stopped and turned around only to find an empty, dimly lit street. Rolling her eyes, she turned and began walking only to stop once again with slight frustration as she crossed her arms over her chest. Someone was there. If she’d only look deeper, she’d realize that she knew this presence from a long time ago, but she didn’t - that part of her she kept buried.

it had been too long, too long locked up like an animal; getting shots of whatever drug they wanted to calm him down, to melt his brain it seemed. luckily, whatever they gave him did not melt anything , and his memory was as vivid as it was the day he was taken. and, when he got out, there was only one thing on his mind. his daughter.
little effie. he wondered if the system had changed her name.
he found her, he thought. he followed her, almost too scared to talk to her. would she react well to his presence, or would she dismiss him?
“ just like her mother . energetic, careful , always capturing the different sounds of the world . “ he thought, looking at her. he hissed , however , as he stepped on whatever had fallen from the tree , making a cracking noise. he looked up and watched her, listening to her plead.
he took a deep breath. it is time.
he emerged from the shadows, looking at her.
“ hi, little effie . remember me ? “
