That's..definitely a problem.I'd say something to him next time or if you're in that situation again. Showing them that you disliked what they did and standing up for yourself will show them you aren't playing games and don't tolerate that.

You're really close to the gas station and I saw you outside the first time while I was driving past but I didn't realize it was you until I was done with pumping the gas. And good, you made this a whole lot easier than it needed to be. And I really hate to do this to you kiddo, but you're going to be getting in trouble. You know I don't mind you drinking..but you're doing it  out and about and not where your dad and/or I can make sure you're safe.
