All Dogs Go To Heaven: Mata’s Homecoming
Today, I said my “See you Laters”. My family did everything to make the most of the past two days.
We started it with a bath. They were never my favorite, but it was nice to feel the warm water on a cold, rainy day.
After, my big sister took me for a car ride. They always make me happy... and a little sleepy.
There were so many treats and toys!
All of the choices made me exhausted after awhile.
So then we went home. We were pretty hungry.
After my nap, my other sisters & dad came home to hang out with me.
My sisters decided we would have a slumber party full of telling secrets and lots of love.
Eventually, we fell asleep.
I didn’t want to wake up the next morning.
But eventually, I got up to play.
We even went on a walk to my favorite places in the neighborhood. Well.. my sisters were walking while I was rolled like a princess in a laundry cart from next door.
First, we visited my favorite fire fighters. I used to always pull loose from my leash and run upstairs to their living quarters to say hi.
Next, we went to my favorite restaurant: Sea Breeze. Angela and Joe always spoil me with bacon.
Last stop: the laundromat next door. Tony and his wife used to weigh me on their clothing scale while I was a puppy to check how fast I was growing.
Back to the house we went to hang out with my other siblings.
After some quality time, the vets came to help me on my way to Rainbow Bridge. As sad as it sounds, I’m not in pain anymore. I can run again and my belly is full. I have met up with my siblings who went before me, Sosisi the Bassethound and Simba the Cat. Together, we will look after our family. Thank you to all who have loved me throughout my short time on Earth. I will miss you all, but I promise we’ll see each other soon.
