On Tuesday the 3rd of February I did some spot checking on bent steel bars to make sure cracks weren't forming. first use the blue spray to clean the metal simply buffing with a rag, then I would spray red onto the clean surface, let it set, wash it off and and use the third and final spray, a liquid chalk. After fifteen minutes any cracks in the metal will turn a deep purple, fortunately there were non!
At my internship on the Coronet project I out an inch and a half thread on brass bolts, I did about a hundred, it took most of the day.
some pics from my internship on the Coronet restoration project, info below
top to bottom, left to right
1. A plank being steamed (thing in plastic bag) to the correct curvature, right on the boat!
2. The chopping block where scrap wood is cut in pieces that will fit into the furnace.
3. Fire wood! I personally cut the top two layers.
4. Tall Sam(left) and Andy(right) planing a 45 foot piece of white oak that will then become an outer plank on the boat.
5. Pile of junk!
6. Another pile! jk thats me looking able bodied and willing
7.This other Sam, I mostly worked with him on this day, he's a nice guy, very intelligent
