Posted an update to AO3 regarding the future of the Perfect series.
Posting here as well: Hello!
First, hope you're all doing well. I've been taking some time to navigate some things personally, and have gotten settled back into my normal routine so now have time to brainstorm and write.
I've begun writing book three, but this time, I'm going to try and finish it before posting.
I've long been a WIP poster, and I know this helps and hinders my work in different ways. For one, it's nice and very encouraging to have an audience provide feedback as I write, much of which has genuinely influenced this series and given me inspiration, ideas, motivation. However, I often find myself hitting walls of writer's block, and feel pressure to finish chapters on a schedule or fast as possible to keep the story going and keep people interested. This pressure (that I fully invented, by the way, literally no one was ever mean or demanding of more chapters I did this to myself entirely) would cause me to lose energy/motivation to write, and I'd end up avoiding it and then falling out of rhythm with my own creativity.
So this time, I want to finish the story first. And yes, book three will be the ending to the entire series. As of now, I imagine it will be very long, perhaps longer than the first two combined. I also want to then go through the first two works, primarily the first which I rushed through some of the writing of which, and refine them, rewrite some things, include foreshadowing to events I at the time hadn't written yet, etc.
I also really want to work on Divine Right. I loveeee the story I've outlined for it, and I want to put out more of it genuinely just because I'm having so much fun writing it! I'm a huge history nerd so I'm also giving myself way too much work of literally researching late 18th century pirate/English history because for some reason I can't just write fun fanfics no I have to immerse myself as much as possible. Truly idk what my problem is okay.
Also... I'm unsure of plans for Just Like Sid and Nancy. I was on such a roll with it, and then I kinda... grew to resent it. It got painful to write, due to my own fault as I based Harry's problematic behaviors in that fic on my actual real life abusive ex, and at first it felt cathartic, but now it just... hurts. So, unsure.
Anyway. I appreciate all of you. So to stay in touch, and gather more inspo/motivation, I've created a Tumblr.
Thank you. Talk soon. 🖤
Some inspo pics for the third book in the Perfect series.
So, hi.
Figured I should make a Tumblr for info about fic updates, sharing my inspiration, etc.
