B, (who has seen this show before) taking the cue and choosing violence by making a big fuss anyway by repeatedly making pointed comments every time A sneezes along the lines of:

"gosh, your...allergies are sure acting up" "it seems a bit...early in the season for this to be starting, no?" "do you maybe want to take an...antihistamine or something?"

Which has the intended outcome of B eventually annoying A into finally admitting they are sick if only to get B to shut 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝓊𝒸𝓀 up

A turns away and snaps forward violently with a very desperate, “Heh’EISHOO!”

“Shut up!” B growls.

A nods quickly and pinches their nose, curling in on themselves in an attempt to stifle all while struggling to say, “I’m sohh… rIHh— Hngxt!”

And B is like, “Oh no, baby, I didn’t mean hold them in. Please don’t do that. I’m sorry, sweetheart.”

character who 100% knows (in theory) that if they’re really not feeling well they should communicate that. they are fully aware of the logic of that (in theory). maybe someone they know has a bad habit of not doing so, and they regularly tell them off for being ridiculous in that way. if it were them, they think, they’d just do what they need to do and own up to their vulnerable state. like, come on, it’s not like it’s hard. in theory.
