chillin’ … Jacky Ickx chillin’ in his Martini Racing-Porsche 935/76 during the first Silverstone 6 Hours (now known as the Silverstone 1000km) Jacky would team up with Jochen Mass in the factory Porsche, together they would set the pole & fastest lap, but wouldn’t finish the race they would come back with their Martini Racing-Porsche 935/77 the following season to win the 6 Hours event, as they would do in 1978 with the 78 version of the Group 5 Porsche In the 80’s they would again do a back-to-back win in 1984 & 1985, now with the factory Rothmans-Porsche 956 They still are the record holders with 4 overall wins

Masta Kink …
The Masta Kink was one of the most fearsome sections on any race track in the world, requiring skill and bravery in equal measure to get it right. After a long run from Malmedy, the cars would reach top speed before having to negotiate Masta, a high speed left-right chicane, and a good exit speed was vital as it was followed by another long straight run to Stavelot. This was a very fast and very dangerous corner because it was situated right in the middle of 2 very long unbroken straights both about 1½ miles long (2.4 km).
