soooo theres a different event if this is the second time the Ivory Wraith has possessed you and Gwylan comes to save you, but whats interesting to me are the unique lines the IW says to Gwylan during the encounter (and after)
the initial line the IW says at the start,
the rest as the fight goes on (in no particular order)
and lastly, the scene if you fail to fight off the IW:

i think while theres much to ponder on with the dialogue, i think being called an albatross by the IW is the most curious to me.
i think the IW calling the PC an albatross is so interesting because their great-grandparent was literally called Seabird, and it seems in a way the witches follow that habit of only meeting their lover to mate then depart if we assume Summer's case with Winter is how they usually go. Anyway, much to ponder on !
I think this might be a bit obvious but I'm pretty sure that pc has probably reincarnated alot of times and Fayne was probably the few reincarnations of pc cause I mean way back the hopeless cycle update IW keeps calling the pc goaler to which I found odd and how kylar calls pc goaler even though the pc would probably have fit being nona more and how pc was playing as Fayne rather then nona and also gwylan being a reincarnation of nona so this basically might mean that pc and gwylan might just be doomed star crossed lovers though pc wasn't always their lover in every century they had lived and how IW is probably implied that we look like their lover before and how we look like Morgans so called "Kid" and also kylars other parent

sooo… i was looking through dolcord for lore drops & saw this:

SO. now i’m thinking that since the scar moves to the womb as well, that that’s why the PinkRose!Gwylan mentions their issues with fertility. Maybe it hinders the ability to conceive?
OR. assuming this PR!Gwylan also has the triquetra they, Summer, and Mother Goose all have, then it’s just a byproduct of the triquetra itself.
Assuming the triquetra brand is used as a means to snuff the effects of the elk-scar (at least to avoid passing on that impurity?) then perhaps as a result it hinders the ability of conception as well.
im ngl this forever leaves me wondering/thinking that maybe the Leviathan (the placeholder name ive given the curious/forgotten deity), was maybe a 'greater' Elkspawn (in comparison to the lesser Elkspawn that crawls out of Gwylan). Perhaps its a negative/impure creature as a whole?
OR just a deity ambiguous enough to be used as a stepping stone by Auriga (hence it no longer existing), perhaps consumed by its emptiness?
but somewhere down Gwylan's bloodline they figured out how to 'transmute' their scar from the Dark Elk into something more positive- via the partial usage of its iconography ?

I think the take that Gwylan is a character that focus on trust, vulnerability and consent is a bit wrong in some places. Yes, the early starts of the relationship, Gwylan is a character who seem to care about having your consent, your trust in him. Putting you under hypnotic trances and waiting until it has wear off a bit so you wouldn't have any of the side effects, making sure you are prepare to go though rituals, and even comforting you when you share stories of your traumatic experiences in town.
This falls apart, for me, the moment he puts a dog collar and leash on you, out of nowhere during the second ritual you can do with him. No point did he ask, nor talk about it before hand. He just does so. It gets worse when he makes you 'roll over', even when you choose to simply lay on your back.
To me, Gwylan is a character that truly really only cares about consent until he actually begins to yearn for the PC. Before he really began to have more interest, he rarely ever did anything to the PC, being one of the kindest love interest outside of Robin, Alex and Sydney. Again, this guy comforts you and seemingly is the only one who really gets how it is to live in DOLtown.
But when you delve deeper and unlock him as a love interest, (Side note: I do not agree with how you have to break his boundaries but I'll get into that some other day) it seems all that care goes out the window. The more you fall into his hypnosis, the more you lose control of yourself.
It goes from feeling bad when you don't do his requests, to feeling actual fear and guilt, and then being unable to say no to him. Take the collar scene for example.
You can say no to him and he will know that you say no to him. He can go "Oh, nevermind then. You don't have to put it on." And leave the collar there, for you to put it on if you wish to.
But he doesn't. He snuffs out your will and replaces it with his, literally pushing away your thoughts.
He does this again when you ignore him and go wander in the forest, literally doing the same thing he did to the other denizens of the forests. Singing the Seabird Lullaby and luring you in, even if you resist. If you do resist, you'll get lines of 'Mine to keep', 'Clay between my fingers', 'you wanted this, dear birdie.'
You wanted this. Yes, PC did consent at the time to sink deeper into the hypnosis. But he can clearly understand and hear that you are resisting. That you don't want the collar or you don't want to do the ritual.
He does it anyways, snuffling your will like a candle. He also does it in heat. When in heat and wandering the forest, he will get into a hunting phrase with you before chasing you down.
This is what happens when he catches you and you resist.
He just entrances you so now you can't do anything but lay there. You can't touch him and make him feel good, you can't fight against him. You can't do anything.
I only got this event like twice so far and I have gotten one time where it fade off for a bit so I was able to fight him off. But holy shit, if this isn't a nightmare scenario.
I can go on and talk about how possessive he is, and how his lack of real consent plays into it but that is a post for another time because I have a lot to say on that.
oml YES. as much as Gwylan has overshadowed Sydney as being my fav LI , THIS —gestures at this post— is probably my only issue with Gwylan
especially considering this happens/can happen all before their unimplemented romance shit (since Gwylan doesn’t actually love us as of the content in update 5.10)
random thought but Harper being called the cannibal fox by Gwylan & then labeled as ‘the Silver Fox’ after the skyscraper is complete, + the patients in the asylum that said Harper isn’t actually a doctor and was once a patient makes me think:
Harper at some point was a victimn but instead of crumbling or fighting against it, they chose to embrace it/Auriga, but i need to know the why soooo badly —sigh—
so as it turns out, (so far) ive found Gwylan can tell you at least 4 different versions of the story's ending depending on what actions youve done before showing them the outfit

this one im not 100% certain of but i think the difference is saving the flock member AND doing charlie's friend's party
ive yet to properly come up with a theory on the stories themselves put all together or in relation to what the PC did to be told those variations but maybe someone will see this and come up with one before me~
oh. and if you havent done any of the parties, pc is like 'uhh im not sure i havent done it yet' and Gwylan silently looks disappointed

this makes me wonder, was it the witch's bloodline that had multiple kids or is the half-sibling born from the other 'regular' parent? if the former, would both/all children of the witch!parent be cursed with the antlers?
and what if this half-sibling looks very similar to Gwylan and the person in the photo with Bailey was them, not Gwylan per se?
also, is it insane to say im considering maybe this half-sibling is Zephyr? the green eyes, and both their and Gwylan's interest in the sea and knowing of the Ivory Wraith's existence?
ohmygod the scene after letting Avery ascend... and then the difference in the photo the PC and Robin cant remember... yeah that had to have been Gwylan or a previous incarnation like wow.
thats probably why Robin and the PC cant recall that second person, Gwylan is great at being forgotten. I mean Landry forgot, and now my social tab says "nobody"

The most obvious assumption would be because PRM!Gwylan was sickly, it made it harder to conceive right? but by sickly is it in the 'usual' way or in regards to Auriga/the mark left on them since Nona?
but Nona and Summer for that matter didnt have issues with conceiving. Maybe PRM!Gwylan's sickly state has some sort of relation to why this life's memories are forgotten?
PRM!Gwylan just seems so different from the other witches that I feel like it has to be because they were (seemingly) able to love freely with their partner
i just wish i could pinpoint why this run's answer was different...
although im inclined to believe its because the former scene ends with + + + ??? ie my PC didnt have the yearning reveal scene before showing the flowers, and in my current save, I showed Gwylan the flowers after the yearning reveal so it showed + + + yearning instead
