Official channel of one of the UK's most comprehensive pen retailers, purepens.co.uk. We have been selling pens online since 2004 and have built up a great k...
We’re now on YouTube with our new official Pure Pens TV channel! Be sure to view, like and subscribe to our videos and we will try to return the favour!Â
Happy Easter from us all here at PurePens.co.uk! We’re off to enjoy our long weekend- we hope you are too! We’ve just launched an Easter Weekend Sale- 10% OFF every purchase over £25! Use the code EASTER10 at checkout!Â
We’re delighted to confirm that we are now offering Caffe Crema here at Pure Pens. This shade is a deep, warm brown with reddish undertones which we are confident will prove just as popular as the other Robert Oster colours. The ink comes in the signature Robert Oster Ink bottle which is a 50ml fully recyclable PET bottle, and has been manufactured in Australia’s first carbon-neutral plastics factory. Bottles are priced at £14.95.
Also arriving in the shipment is the Fire & Ice colour. Since beginning to stock Robert Oster Inks earlier this year, without a doubt, Fire & Ice has proved the most popular. Such has been the case that recently we sold out our entire stock of the colour. Today, however, we have been able to replenish that stock. Be sure to avoid disappointment by purchasing a bottle today for £14.95.
If you are yet to try an ink from the Robert Oster signature series, or simply are a one-ink type of fountain pen fan, then we’d certainly recommend giving it a go! Originating from one of Australia’s most idyllic locations, the Coonawarra district of South Australia, the ink has a distinctly natural feel about it. With natural tones such as Barossa Grape and Tranquility representing the earthier shades, a Robert Oster signature series ink would certainly prove a warm addition to your ink collection.
ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE INKS: NOODLER’S
Afternoon everyone! It’s tipping down with rain here in south Wales at the moment! When will Spring arrive? We thought we’d try to brighten the mood a little by telling you a bit more about our stock of Noodler’s ink here at Pure Pens.
Established in Massachusetts, USA, founder Nathan Tardif has over three decades’ experience and passion for fountain pens and inks. As a result, his Noodler’s brand is one of the most recognised across the world in possessing a unique and wide spectrum.
Not only this, but you will also find Noodler’s Inks rather special in their presentation. Each bottle of ink is adorned by a unique label for each colour- quite often displaying an historical quirk to brighten your day. The collection boasts the ever popular stalwart ‘Bulletproof Black’ but is perpetually added to with more eccentric names – from the ‘Bad Belted Kingfisher’ through to the ‘Monkey Hanger Blue.’
We’re fortunate enough to have an exclusive collection of Noodler’s Ink here at Pure Pens, and we thought you’d like to know a little more about them. Not only that, but we decided to use this edition of InkMail Showcase to inform you of some of the other must-have Noodler’s Inks.
Behind the name
The name Noodler’s comes from a technique of catching catfish by hand. Noodling involves wading into the water and feeling around for small crevasses and catching the catfish who have backed themselves inside by holding onto the outside edges of their open mouth. Nathan says it is the ultimate battle between man and beast and your bank balance and social standing have no bearing on your ability. The catfish can be seen on all the ink bottles packaging.
Disclaimer: We’ve had a couple of comments regarding the names of some of the inks. We’re proud to say here at Pure Pens we like to remain politically neutral (for obvious reasons!) Nathan on the other hand enjoys talking about his politics and is quite the anglophile. As a result, you may find one or two names unusual. It is all quite tongue in cheek however, and we can promise the name has no effect on the quality of the ink at all!
Some of our Pure Pens exclusives (click to find out more): Brexit Royal Blue/ Purple, Britannia’s Blue Waves, Prime of the Commons Blue/ Black, Monkey Hanger Blue, Empire Red
Some of our other favourites: Green Marine, Mandalay Maroon, Apache Sunset, Saguaro Wine, Hellfire
Let us know what your favourites are in the notes below! We’ll get another post up shortly to let you know a bit more about another of our lines of stock. Until then though, if there’s anything you think we may be interested in pen-wise, let us know. Alternatively, if there’s anything you need help with, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Have a great rest of the week,
Ross, Laura, Rhys, Jenet and Sophia
