FGO Lost Belt Story Rant

It’s not like the story is a main point of the game, obviously. But I still enjoy a lot of it, as well as the dialogue.

But Lost Belt...

FUCKING GOREDOLF!

We lose Roman, and as a replacement, we get Goredolf. I skip most all his dialogue, but it’s difficult when I think there might be some major plot points in there. But no. He’s just a fat, fucking piece of shit racist that pads the story with meaningless drivel. What a shitty character to replace someone key and beloved. There’s just no point to his existence except to earn reader hate. That’s just dumb.

I don’t give two shits if he redeems himself somewhere along the way, cause he’s such a shitty character now, I won’t read anything he freakin’ says in the future. Just absolute garbage mother fucker. If there is some turnaround, it feels like it’ll be hard plot-forced, and will expect readers to empathize and forgive all the shitty, inexcusable behavior he’s displaying now. Fuck that!

(And he also reminds me of Trump, which just makes me hate him even more.)

FUCK! I hate this character. I’ve hated a lot of characters, among a bunch of different series, but Goredolf is one of the most annoying AND least integral characters ever. If he was important in some way, things might slightly be different. But he’s not. Just a whiny, pompous, old, douchefuck waste of space.

And I thought I missed Roman before...

Arknights - Rate Up Banners NEED HIGHER RATES

I’ve seen a bunch of videos recording the crazy amount of pulls needed to get the actual 6-Star Unit featured on the banner. Lots of horror stories on reddit and elsewhere. Experienced it myself just recently. (I pulled Silverash and Skadi on Chen’s banner)

It is very off-putting that so many people pull 6-Star Units other than the one actually featured. Some gacha games have it down to a good science. Arknights? Probably needs to boost chances of actually pulling the Featured Unit over the open draw ones.

...Qrow forgot he can turn into a bird?

I thought he STOPPED drinking?! Clover fight was so unnecessary if the writers just let him remember that one little fact. Damn shame…

@kali-tmblr already pointed out he would have frozen to death in bird form, but there’s also:

1. He wasn’t going to abandon two people to Tyrian. Robyn was unconcious and Clover realistically couldn’t win that fight alone.

2. Him turning into a bird is a secret for a reason. If Tyrian sees it, all of Salem’s group finds out. If Clover sees it, it goes out over the wire with his arrest warrant. Everyone starts shooting at every black bird they see and Qrow loses both that cover of safety and his ability to spy undetected.

I’d be disappointed in the writers and the character if he had turned into a bird and run off. It wouldn’t have made any sense in the context of the scene.

Sooo he can’t temporarily fly and put some good distance, before freezing to death? Or he can’t transform once they’re within city limits? Or just transform at any other convenient moment?

1. I was also referring to Qrow transforming the moment he saw he was a wanted fugitive, BEFORE Tyrian crashed the plane. I agree he wouldn’t leave an unconscious Robyn around to escape.

2. Him needing to keep it a secret is an iffy reason not to use the ability at best. In a life-threatening situation, you use what you can. Evading capture is a high reason to supersede keeping bird transformation a secret. And yes, what if it’s revealed? You made me laugh when you actually suggested they might shoot every bird in sight thinking it’s Qrow. That was a joke, right? At most, they might be wary of birds going forward.

In the context of the scene and script, I’m sure the writers really wanted Qrow vs. Clover vs. Tyrian to happen. But, you have to admit there were some sketchy plot points that had to be fudged to get there(not including Qrow being able to transform).

Why would Qrow transform the minute he saw he was wanted? Being arrested wasn’t life threatening or worth giving up his secret. We’ll disagree on how closely he holds it, since he’s used it once I can think of…

Come on, though. You know your enemy/target turns into a bird. You see a bird just like the description of your enemy/target. You don’t shoot at it? What kind of officer/huntsman/bounty hunter are you? It’s just a bird at worst or at best you just took down the infamous Qrow. 😁

But you assume in most of your argument Qrow ever felt he was in a life threatening situation, at least more than normal. He didn’t. Any more than Clover believed he wouldn’t be able to arrest both Qrow and Tyrian. Qrow doesn’t turn into a bird because he never feels he has a reason to. Clover believed he would arrest both of them. Qrow believed he would kill Tyrian and, at worst, leave Clover unconcious beside Robyn while he went to figure out what was going on. Those beliefs drove their actions.

I don’t agree with anything sketchy except Robyn (the biggest issue in the whole thing) and Clover being stupider than normal. But even Clover can be chalked up to his cocky arrogance. All of those showy stunts were setting him up for this. Everything else is pretty easily explained. Robyn, I get, to a degree. She already had a thin trust in them. She’d just been massively betrayed. Should have paid a bit more attention to the serial killer, though.

Before the scene goes sideways, he gets a transmission from Ruby about Ironwood going off the rails. Qrow knows what that means, he’s known Ironwood for a long time, seen how he breaks under pressure. He also sees what Clover is going to do. knows what he’s capable of. You watch that scene, Qrow’s hand immediately goes for his weapon. He starts a fight in a confined space. But, suuure. He doesn’t feel like his life is in danger. Sure... 

He also didn’t just hear his niece freaking out, fear of life in her voice, right before a wanted order was issued for her capture. Going on the other time he transformed(as you reminded me), it WAS for Ruby’s sake, right? But, yeah. He would obviously not fear, not just for his life, but Ruby’s too, right? 

All sarcasm aside, Let’s be real and fair. Qrow had every emotional and contextual justification to tap into the bird transformation. Not just at that moment, but many others to escape. The writers either overlooked it or ignored it, simple as that.

And if the secret gets out, everyone’s going to shoot EVERY bird in sight. Like ALL the birds, no matter where or what? Any birds hanging around the Kingdom or even near their buildings. Yeah... what are you talking about? I know this might be hard to understand--but you can’t kill every bird around you. I mean, you could (try) but that’s another disastrous task entirely...
