Childe, the unfortunate choice of a close friend, doesn’t think twice about whether it’s a good idea to kidnap you from your dorm and take you on a midnight supply run.

3:34 AM, destination: Dollar General
You’re barely staying awake as your eyes keep threatening to close. One blink lasted a little too long which left you to wonder if you’ve either fell asleep for a few seconds or time traveled. Your back is against the leather of the passenger seat, dressed in something cozy and comfortable for the night. As if you didn’t have the time to dress for a proper outing. A bit groggy you remember that the car you’re currently in is Childe’s Audi (I’d say a deep crimson red R8 honestly) which he is very precious about. There’s nothing special about it, in truth, it’s the third car of the year he’s driven because the last two got totaled within the last month. You could tell from how it smelled like new-car.
He’s in the driver’s seat with one hand on the wheel and the other leaning against the armrest on his side door with his cheek resting against his gloved knuckles. Rap music was being played on the radio he was singing along to under his breath. He had kidnapped you from the dormitories (because say the headquarters of the Organization also had dorms which were relatively empty since hardly there were other operatives your age who lived there) and go on what he called a “run to restock on supplies,” then shutting the door in your face and driving off. He was kind enough to toss you the hoodie you left in his car and let you have whatever remained of his can of Red Bull in the cup holder. It was an uncommon nights of sorts where neither of you spoke. Leaving you to have a blurry sight of the street lamps that were still on outside, the traffic lights, headlights and hazard lights from passing cars, and the hum of the engine. It was a quiet night.
The Audi soon pulls up to the general store with hardly any cars parked outside and the fluorescent lights from inside the store illuminating the parking lot. The engine shuts off, Childe’s keys jingle in his hands as he gets out and says loudly over at you, “Wake up sleepyhead or I will drag you. Come on, I’ll buy you whatever.” Not batting an eye that he’s partially parked on the yellow-stripped part.
He gets out and you follow while wondering if you’re still in the same city. You wipe the sleep out of your eyes as you get out a bit sluggishly and slam the door shut.
“Oi! Slam it harder next time.” Childe says glancing at you from ahead.
“I’d rather just break your windshield.”
The two of you head inside, a little electronic chime goes off as you two enter through the automatic doors. Childe waves at the tired cashier who waves back. You just go straight to where your feet and stomach remember faster than you do. Childe pushes one of the yellow shopping carts over to the freezers lining the wall and lets you wander off and get what you want. He won’t care. You come back to see PILES of energy drinks in the shopping cart. Red Bulls of many flavors, Monsters, coffees, sparkling water. He lives off of this stuff, you swear it’s the only thing you see him drink.
Childe turns around and sees the haul in your arms. Bags of chips, candy, packaged pastries, gum, maybe even some cheap toys from the toy isle or whatever you thought you lowkey wanted because the packaging was convincing. Even some press-on nails for Childe (which he’s not going to agree to putting on).
“Toss it in.”
And you do. You throw everything into the shopping cart and go back to go for another round of collecting. When you come back, you have yet another pile of things in your arms. Just in time for you and Childe to hear the automatic doors slide open and the chime go off. You both turn to see… a Wriothesley. Stopping just a couple feet away from where you guys were stuffing a shopping cart full of things as if preparing for war.
Childe: 👁️ 👄 👁️
You: 👁️ 👄 👁️
Item in your arms: falls and eats shit on the floor
Wriothesley: 🧍🏻♂️
Then… he nods and walks away. He doesn’t say anything. He just grabs a can of Arizona from the freezer beside you, walks to the cashier, pays for it along with a pack of gum, and says goodbye to the cashier without sparing another glance at the two of you.
“A Wriothelsey in the wild. How special are we.” You say then unload all of the things in your arms into the shopping cart.
The two of you make it to the cashier, you shamelessly get a few more things from those little walls with gift cards and throw in a whole stack of Olive Garden gift cards. Childe looks at the cards then back at you just as he was about to get his wallet. You think to yourself, “Oh yeah” then go back and get twelve Xbox gift cards for him. He pays for everything and the cashier gives him the look when he tells them, “Don’t bag it. Don’t want to put you through the hassle.”
When the two of you get back into the car you take a look at the receipt and the total cost. Hm, you’ve seen higher numbers. “Maybe one day I’ll milk you dry.” You glance over at him and toss away the receipt.
Childe shrugs as he pulls out from the parking lot and back onto the road, “As if you already don’t.”
Synopsis: In which Teyvat has its own international motorsport establishment and the paddock is made up of talented and speed addicted individuals with their own choice of build, designs for their cars, sponsors, legendary records, and special moments shared with fans and fellow teammates. With you holding a special role in this well loved and respected sport.
With the added scenario that: you are Diluc’s child, adopted or otherwise. Everyone else is essentially your family. With Lohen being the second youngest racer whom you end up dating. But it will be integrated along with the main experience of having this kind of lifestyle, a bit of both worlds ;)
Characters(to be expected in this and later related posts/parts of this): Eula, Flins, Kaeya, Varka, Diluc, Childe, Ayato, Ayaka, Wriothesley, Alhaitham, Hu Tao, Dainsleif, Scaramouche, Lohen, and You.
a/n: I do not claim any pictures in this post
Some terms you might want to know:

build(s) - refers to the modifications made to the car like the type of engine, suspension set up, tires
car enthusiast - refers to someone who doesn’t find the idea of having a romantic interest with a car weird
daily driver - a car for everyday use
🛞 Appetizer:
⚐ Ever since you could barely hold a wrench, ever since you were small enough to fit inside a stack of tires, or ever since you disappeared into every jacket or hoodie someone lended to you, racing culture was everywhere. Since you were small ,your memories were filled with so many sensory details. You remember the familiar garages, the stench of burnt rubber, blistering hot days and chilly nights, falling asleep in someone’s arms or lap or even in folding chairs, the sound proof earmuffs that were too big for your head. But most importantly, the roars and revving of engines. The sound the people made when a certain car passed the checkered line first. The roars of laughter and cheer the crew members and racers made that meant this particular show will be remembered forever.
⚐ Diluc didn't mean to make your childhood this way, but he doesn't regret a thing (mostly). Aside from being a winery tycoon, his racer life kept him just as busy. But somehow never too busy for you. Because you would follow him everywhere. Racing was a passion he could understand. It required both discipline and skill to remain in control but also let your car work how it should and adapt. Something that scratched a certain itch in his brain. He couldn't think of a better childhood for you to have than being surrounded by people who shared that same passion he did and absolutely LOVED you to death. You grew up learning about his passion and he got to watch how excited you got over upcoming racing events, cars with designs that caught your attention, and become a mini helper in the garage by the time you were five.
⚐ Everyone in the paddocks watched you grow up before their eyes and eventually became a racer of your own. It took a LOT of convincing from your dad to agree. Not because he never wanted you to race (heck he probably dreamed you’d become a racer but was okay if you didn’t want to), but because you wanted to race WAY too early. The look in his face when he realized you were serious about racing was one that was subtle but deeply pensive. Because… are you sure? You want to compete with these people in the very near future? As in, not even a couple years later to hone your skills? But you were serious. Even worse because a few of the other racers, Varka, Kaeya, Childe, Hu Tao, even Ayato approved such an idea. And when Diluc learned that even Ayato thought it wasn’t a bad idea (completely ignoring the other four’s opinions because he’s not surprised) he knew that meant he saw potential in you to be a good and capable racer.
⚐ Besides… it’s not like you haven’t driven before. At least five times someone let you get behind the wheel on a closed circuit and let you send it. And somehow you pulled it off with hardly any scrapes or crashes. So Dawn Winery had gotten its second representative. You. The heir to the Winery and the youngest racer of the sport. Kids who were new to the sport learned how old the youngest racer was in the paddocks and would snap their heads to their parents like “How old?!” The Dawn Winery’s logo and name covered your livery with all the other sponsors that decided “hey, we’re gonna support you just enough to see what you’ve got for your first competition” and from then on your car only collected more and more brand names. Even the ones you hoped would sponsor you. Maybe it was a drink brand or a company that made exceptional car parts or even a car manufacturer.
⚐ Everyone in the paddock (the characters mentioned above) have their own story as to how they became racers as well as the special relationship they have with you. You’ve competed against them numerous of times but always have they been willing to lend you a hand in your garage or trust that you know what you’re doing and let you help them with their car. They still see that little kid who wore oversized merchandise of her dad or her uncle, the one with earmuffs too big on her head, and who somehow stayed up the entire day just to see the final match in the late evening. But they also see someone who’s very much able to beat them even by decimals and someone who enjoy every moment they get to teach you something new.
🛞 A little more about them:
Varka and Dainsleif are the veterans of the paddock. They’ve seen generations grow older and legends who came before them retire. The younger adults definitely remember them as the legends of their childhood, Varka represents the Knights of Favonius (along with Kaeya, Eula, and eventually Lohen) and essentially Mondstadt itself. When he wins podium, it’s like all of Mondstadt wins. With Dainsleif representing… no one but himself. He’s actually the only racer in the paddock who doesn’t have a huge name or logo on his race car, only sponsors who respect the heck out of him show on his wrapping. He’s selective towards the sponsors he agrees to sponsor like small business or manufacturers that have products he actually likes and uses. He’s an enigma when it comes to racing, no one would be able to tell he’s incredibly synced to his car and is much more of a precise driver than he lets on. He’s never made a grand scene when he wins podium, he has his own specific standards for what count as accomplishments and victories.
Ayato and Ayaka both represent the Kamisato Clan and I wouldn’t be surprised if Thoma was one of their crew members. They are both elegant racers with Ayato having been in the racing business a little while longer than Ayaka. They individually are drivers that hardly ever lose their composure. They glide across corners like swans with Ayaka being known for her grace and Ayato having his own subtle flair. Their merch is equally beautifully made and very high-quality (with their prices for things differing just noticeably it’s sort of amusing). They’d have pretty solid runs as their builds are top notch and work exceptionally well, plus they know how to drive them.
Eula and Kaeya only ever got recruited because Varka insisted they’d love the idea of motorsports. And he was right. The two of them decided to give actual racing a try since the Grand Master made it seem so natural. Eula gave it a go because she actually finds the engineering and mechanics behind how cars function based on different components used interesting and the precision to drive at certain speeds was exhilarating. Kaeya mostly gave it a try because he liked the vibes and aesthetics of it. Until he realized he’s actually good at it and found himself reading sponsorship deals in his emails. They both drive elegantly with Eula having a knack for executing tight angles flawlessly and Kaeya having more of a cheeky flair but somehow still look like he’s in control. They too represent the Knights like Varka along with their respective list of sponsors.
It’s no surprise Diluc was also introduced to racing by Varka as well. I mentioned his attraction to the sport, though I didn’t mention how reluctant he was at first. He figured his schedule would be so packed, especially because he had you. But then he learned about the schedules and how they actually compete in seasons so he had time to be the scary and brooding CEO of Dawn Winery and for one planned week turn his attention to racing. But of course… it wasn’t that simple. Because then Diluc became a car enthusiast. Which meant he didn’t just race but also attended car shows/events across nations. He’d also invest in some cars of his own and decide to get a sleek, black Porsche 911 (turbo s) and he’s been doomed ever since.
Flins was actually interested in motorsports before he became a racer. Nod-Krai was small but had a track which was used by the racing company for the Nod-Krai championship. He probably attended a handful of times simply to enjoy the atmosphere. It was after learning that Varka was a racer that he found himself getting more and more drawn to the actual racing aspect. He liked the way a car required a sense of intuition to function like an extension of one’s will. He also liked the feel of input given to the car and physics respond in a terrifying yet stimulating manner. He’s scary when he’s on the track because he’s almost impossible to read. Even Ayato has a hard time determining what’s going on in his head and what kind of achievements he aims for. He’d be surprised that Flins races mostly because it’s fun. He would represent the Ratniki and have QUITE the local paparazzi among his fellow colleagues when they learn he competes in one of the biggest sporting events Nod-Krai sees. Then get blasted when they see how insane his talent is on the track.
Childe and Scaramouche would represent the Fatui while also being extreme types of racers. Childe’s style of racing is more reckless, daring, adrenaline chasing, and testing the limits of his chosen build. He races more for himself than for his sponsors. I can see him sponsoring Red Bull and… yeah, sponsoring Red Bull (was that Childe’s VA in a Red Bull ad??). Unironically runs off of Red Bull even when he’s not competing. Scaramouche tends to be ruthless. He’s a force to be reckoned with on the track from how uncannily he’s attuned to his car and operates like a machine that will run you over and not look back. His transitions can be sharp or smooth depending on whether he wants to intimidate someone or put the judges in a tight spot. He also doesn’t use the amount of sponsors supporting him as a reason to compete.
Wriothesley would represent the Fortress of Meropide but somehow be surprised when an inmate asks him about a particular season (it’s like getting flash banged because he forgets both sides of his life exist on the same planet). He’d be one heck of a calm racer. He remains composed and level headed during serious competitions. He’d like racing because of the feel of the car when it’s going fast or making smooth turns. He’d also genuinely find the lifestyle that comes with being a racer with other people insanely fun and memorable. He would find himself very lucky to have this kind of career. That, and because car enthusiasm is contagious. He ends up buying a motorcycle to drive around as his daily driver and becomes quite the mechanic who maintains it very well, it’s like his baby (anyone else listened to that playlist for going on motorcycle rides with Wriothesley from @winterrtide?)
Alhaitham enjoys racing more because of the engineering that goes with a car. His build would show how much thought went into making it efficient and flexible. I can see Kaveh being a member of his pit crew. And it’s actually normal for Alhaitham being the one under the car or looming over the hood to make preparations himself. Not because he doesn’t trust his crew but because he likes examining his car with his own eyes. He’d represent the Akademiya but hardly make a big deal about it. People sometimes forget he represents the prestigious learning institution in all of Teyvat even though he gives off scholar energy. He and Kaveh would definitely argue over comms when Alhaitham is doing practice runs.
Hu Tao probably became a racer completely by accident. She was interested in the Motorsport since she was young and as she got older had the freedom to get as close as she possibly could to see the legends up close. Then a racer, probably Varka or Eula who saw how interested in racing the girl was, let her take their car for a spin after the competition ended. She always made it seem like she was going to crash or scrape the wrapping but managed to miss the barriers by inches and let the car settled before making precise corrections to get back to normal speed. “I’d drive better under pressure, otherwise I might have really clipped that wall.” And found herself offered a contract to become a racer.
🛞 Then there’s Lohen…
Lohen, ohhhh Lohen. There’s actually a tiny story of the events leading up to him eventually becoming a racer (spoiler: Varka’s doing) so before any of his backstory gets told, here’s what the beginning of his career looked like. At first, he seemed like a new problem to the paddock. You can imagine their individual reactions when they learned a new racer was joining—well, not about the fact they were new but the fact that they were only a year older than you. The second youngest racer in Teyvat history. But then… they meet Lohen. And instantly they look at Varka as if he lost his mind. Lohen greets everyone with politeness, but anyone who’s seen things would understand that the smile he wears is a little… off. Childe immediately takes a liking to him, and so does Lohen. Now, there are two of them.
No one will ever forget that first competition. It was a drifting competition. He beat Ayaka in Top 32. He beat Ayato in Top 8. He beat Childe in Top 4. And he lost to Dainsleif by only a point. But Dainsleif won first place. So Lohen got SECOND PLACE on his first drifting competition. That day would forever go down in history.
From then on Lohen earned a place in the paddock faster than anyone was ready for. At the same time Lohen also found a place here he wasn’t entirely expecting. Becoming a racer would bring out a dangerous side of Lohen. Because as a Vice Captain, he had adults who treated him with professionalism and always had the same predictable responses when he set the fire alarm off right before a particularly boring meeting he had to go to. But here? As a racer? Performing a form of art that includes speeds that would be illegal on public roads? Getting PAID for it? A culture involving fast machines that bring out an unprofessional side of people despite this being a “professional” sport? He’s in love. Varka knew once he introduced him there was no going back.
Lohen didn’t know what to expect when he stepped foot on his first paddock on his first season. But he was very intrigued when he heard he wasn’t the youngest racer, but instead someone else was. Then he meets you. And instantly he’s hooked. You would actually be the first person he acquaints himself with that is not a co-worker of his. Much to Diluc’s chagrin.
Your dad would already have an impression of sorts on Lohen (his story quest). He met him before he became a racer and before you met him. He had mixed opinions and feelings about you meeting Lohen since he, you know, isn’t exactly right in the head. He’d watch you two interact like a hawk, not entirely expecting Lohen to actually try anything if he even considered doing anything at all but he couldn’t not look out for you.
Lohen wanted to test your skills upon meeting you. It sort of seemed like he targeted you when doing practice laps. He intentionally became unpredictable just to see how you handle a sudden turn or how quickly you adapt when it comes to changing speeds. He mainly did this to measure himself against the second most recent racer of the paddock (he also genuinely wanted to know your style of driving). It’s his way of bonding and testing the waters before he fully jumps in.
Diluc had a look that could kill when he saw Lohen do a reckless stunt which could have ended with you T-boning him or clipping a barrier. Varka had to meditate and beg him not to kill him as they both know this is Lohen who has been introduced to racing. “He’s strangely enough a bit more mature than Childe is, you’ve gotta admit.” Varka had to say which actually elicited a scoff from red-haired man. Ignoring the loud “HUH?” coming from the Fatui’s garage.
Lohen picks up speed as more sponsors accumulate and he actually has room to test his driving capabilities which are pretty impressive for someone who’s just started. After the first competition, everyone never looked at Lohen the same. A little more on that story in the future but after that run you two became friends. But the friendship phase was a whole historical event in of itself. To you personally and to the rest of Motorsport fanbase. Lohen wasn’t necessarily a mini Childe because he actually understood racing like a passion. Childe liked it because it got his blood bumping.
Lohen’s style of racing was rational but still daring. Even though he had a streak for being an adrenaline junkie, he wasn’t arrogant at all. He understood the aspects of racing from the handling of his car to the specific components of his build to even how the weather can affect his ability to drive. Some people wondered if he was a racer in his past life. Everyone turned to Varka with the same look that basically said “Varka where the heck did you get this kid?” But Varka just laughed like he never doubted for a second Lohen’s abilities for racing. He even mentored him because even though the new racer knows what he’s doing, there’s still stuff he has yet to experience and learn from.
🛞 A little extra info of how long they’ve been competing for:
20-18 years Oldest (1st) generation: Varka, Dainsleif, the legends, the ultimate veterans.
17-14 years 2nd generation: Diluc, Kaeya, Eula, and Wriothesley. Still considered legends but are more so racers everyone would recognize. They know everything about racing and rarely learn anything new. They’re the pros.
13-9 years 3rd generation: Flins, Ayato, Childe, Scaramouche. The relatively old but are still somewhat new racers, they’re in between. They got years of experience but still strive for more podiums. They have that charm that comes with racers still learning more about racing but have already established their style and honor as a racer.
8-4 years 4th generation: Ayaka, Hu Tao, Alhaitham. They have enough experience to race alongside the pros but are always learning something every season as well as still discovering what kind of build suits them best.
3-1/2 years Youngest (5th) generation: You and Lohen. You’ve spent enough time finding out that cars are your passion, but now you’re learning how to actually handle said cars and passion. Because you and Lohen are the youngest racers, you attract the younger audience like moths to a flame. But you also catch the interest of slightly older fans because of how you handled competing against Varka or Diluc. Being the youngest also means having the same kind of… audacity and nerve to challenge the more experienced racers, but somehow hardly make fools of yourselves and instead make things interesting.
a/n ideas are open on what to name this racing company. I took inspiration from Formula Drift, a US drifting event. I will write a mix of some drifting AND racing competitions in because the differences bring out other possible scenarios and styles of driving I just want to include both.
Thinking about Yelan, Diluc, Clorinde, Ayato, Alhaitham, Wriothesley, Childe, Kaeya, Heizou, Scaramouche, Venti, Aether, Xiao, and Kazuha in specific all agents of an elite, black ops division for the mafia. The setting is a modern au and they all operate in a huge city with the public and government having no proof they exist.
But then there’s you. The youngest of the group. And when I say youngest I mean you’re 12-16 years old in this au. Brought in since you were a baby and raised in the mafia until eventually you get assigned to this division. It would be a good couple of years since this division has been formed, probably about a decade or so. But there’s the side of things that is deadly and professional… then the side that HR should definitely know about.
Masterlist to this project
An appetizer of sorts…
For the most part what they’re like…
Yelan and Diluc are both executives with everyone else ranking below them as subordinates.
Yelan is Ayato, Alhaitham, Kaeya, Heizou, Venti, and Kazuha’s direct superior as they mainly specialize in intelligence gathering and investigation. They are agents she either chose and assigned to herself or was assigned to. But they still listen to Diluc just as much as they listen to Yelan (well at least the responsible ones listen to either of them) since he’s respected and without him they might be dead.
Diluc is also Clorinde, Aether, Wriothesley, Childe, Scaramouche, and Xiao’s direct superior as they are the combatants and on-field strategists of the group. They are also agents he carefully chose to work under him, with talents he can trust and use to their full potential. They also listen to Yelan because they know better.
You, however, don’t have Yelan or Diluc as a superior as much as you’re just assigned to this division. So you get equal attentive care to your talents and abilities by both executives and everyone else in the group who have mentally adopted you. In other words, Yelan and Diluc have shared custody over you.
Yelan and Diluc sometimes feel like executives and leaders who have to make the final calls even when they’re brutal or ugly. But then… they feel like PARENTS because of the clowns they just have to work with and keep alive.
It’s usually Childe, Kaeya, Heizou, Venti, and sometimes Scaramouche that are the prime perpetrators to making this group feel less like a lethal combat force and more like a circus (you may also be one of the clowns but future scenarios will do the talking 👀). They alone can be headaches to just about everyone else. Put them together in the same meeting room at an ungodly hour before anyone has had time to have their coffee? You get a room full of cranky people AND immature adults (*cough* Childe who takes up the whole room) who are entirely capable of killing each other but are required not to.
Alhaitham is one of the scary people in the sense he’s rational and logics everything and somehow cracks the code at having a (relatively) stable career and life. As stable as a black ops agent can get. Does Kaveh know? Of course not. Why? If Alhaitham answered a similar question it’d probably be because “he never asked”. Also because the less people know about his double life the better he can exist. He wears his headphones all the time and whenever the clowns of the group enter the same room he’s in he turns the volume up a little (if he’s playing music because they work just as well as keeping sound out). He still ends up hearing things he wishes to unhear.
Aether, Venti, Heizou, Xiao, Kazuha, and Scaramouche are like a pact deal. They’re a mini force within the official unit. Yelan and Diluc only ever set them all on a mission when things are serious or ugly. Sometimes it’s usually just two or three of them, it’s one in a blue moon where all six of them are dispatched together. When they’re all off the clock, they somehow always end up together. Like they gravitate towards one another and forget (or at least try to) about the schemes they’ve pulled off or casualties that couldn’t have been avoided in their line of work. They frequent a certain roof top to get a nice view of the city at night or visit this small but cozy cafe in the corner of a quiet street, pay the waiters extremely generous tips, and not mention a word of it to their colleagues.
Wriothesley somehow manages to keep his sanity with these people as his co-workers. Being a prison warden for the mafia means handling captured rival gang members or traitors. And to handle all those people is not for the faint of heart. Luckily, he views tolerating and putting up with everyone’s bullshit good training when dealing with uncooperative prisoners. The things he’s heard prisoners say they’ll do to his mother are nothing compared to what comes out of Childe’s mouth on a daily basis. Some of the agents are jealous that Wriothesley can be emotionally stable the majority of the week with only coffee, tea, and alone time every few hours or so. Hardly ever do they see his bad side… and when they do it’s usually because someone got injured or could have been killed under his watch.
Ayato, despite being a Commissioner AND meticulous agent, ends up getting in the middle of Childe, Kaeya, and Venti’s jokes. He gets called things like “old man”, “back-up piggy bank”, “guy who has a strange attraction to loyal dogs”. All the while handling it with a polite smile and a new wrinkle formed at the corner of his eye. But he never bothers to report anyone because frankly they are an absolute riot and one of the best forms of entertainment he meets with on a daily. He actually understands their humor even if dark and wildly inappropriate and laughs at it on his lonesome when he thinks back on certain jokes right before he falls asleep.
Then there’s you
You’d have such a good excuse to be a walking OSHA violation AND a menace to your colleagues.
Since you grew up without any proper parental figures or people who are “normal” enough to imprint or learn from, you essentially become a very carefree agent. Especially because of the life you grow up into.
Being in this elite division as a teenager, the youngest by decades, means you are the baby of the group. Which translates to a lot of things. You get fed proper meals or whatever fast food restaurant you want because people like Diluc actually want you to eat real food while Childe may indulge you and try to fatten you up after countless successful covert missions. He’ll take you to do something insane and dumb just to burn off those calories. You become a black ops agent and grow up alongside people like Childe, Kaeya, Venti, Scara, and Heizou meaning you may pick up some… bad habits, sense of humor, or a very creative way of speaking with the use of swear words and unique insults to rival gang members.
You would be LOADED by the time you become an adult and obtain all the money you accumulated as a black ops agent. You’ve only been given increments throughout your career with the majority stored away for safe keeping.
You would be one of the people with the BIGGEST nerve on how to interact with people outside of the mafia your way since A. You’re trained to handle any and all violent situations, B. People constantly underestimate you and don’t believe at first that you have a license to die-dead someone, and C. You’ve got worser problems when Diluc threatens your weekly allowance or Yelan assigns to you clean up duty.
You’d have someone like Yelan who doesn’t necessarily treat you like you’re someone she’s close with but always has contingency plans to make sure you get back safe and in one piece.
You’d have someone like Diluc personally fund your equipment, replace anything that’s damaged, actually give you useful and high-quality gear, make sure you’re eating and sleeping properly, knows when to push you to reach your full potential but also when to force you to sit out on a mission before you burn yourself out and completely injure yourself.
You’d have someone like Childe to spoil you with not just money but things like rare weapons from the black market, letting you use his wallet for whatever you want, night car rides in his Audi to get food or break into a building and not get caught, or even take you to the tavern/bar because he will actually forget you’re a kid sometimes since you hardly behave normal for your age. Bonus if you’re very capable at combat with or without a Vision because THEN your relationship with him would be on a whole other level, you’re someone who can keep up with him in a fight AND never bore him. He’d treat you like a sibling and a feral animal that will choose violence if someone flirts with him. He absolutely loves it.
You’d have someone like Kaeya who also spoils you but not just with money but also affection. He’d encourage you and DEFINITELY enable you without making it obvious. He would call you pet names like “darling” or “sweetling” and get you to do annoying favors for him like asking a stranger to hand you something using your doll eyes and bring it back to him. Only to learn the stranger was actually a target and Kaeya needed finger prints to ruin this man’s life after leaking valuable information about the mafia. He pays you back with $100 so you’re not too mad. He’d also take you to eat but at fancy places and intentionally over feeds you so you fall into a food coma and just be a quiet and sleepy gremlin for the remainder he has the watch over you. You hardly ever see the colder and darker side of him, mostly because he times it all right and you never see him working during serious investigations. But whenever an enemy of the mafia plotted against you or tried harming you in anyway when you thought you had it all handled, Kaeya had that calm voice but unreadable look on his face as he gently steered you away from the interrogation room he and Yelan were in. You only ever hear the bloodcurdling scream as Kaeya had taken extreme measures to ensure the enemy had confessed to everything. They left with a broken elbow and in need of an amputation.
You’d have someone like Venti who not only enables you but is equally carefree and doesn’t give an actual damn for professionalism. He’d be your equal in chaos and would love turning this gloomy, messy career into a sitcom. It actually works too.
Oooooooo the scenarios I could write…
A/n if I do make this into a bigger project there MAY, POSSIBLY be mature stuff in the sense adult jokes and gruesome concepts because this is a mafia setting with people who don’t bother filtering themselves to an extent. I can’t stop anyone from not reading but for anyone who knows they’ll enjoy it by all means do. That is IF I commit to this project.
