The "Woodsboro Bunnies" AU is taking off with multiple people so uh, my William is in his 40's. Billy(and Stu) is 19. I noticed that William's shirt he wears in the very opening of Fnaf2 is almost an invert of what Billy wore at some point. Because of color cohesion and the fact that they 'recognize' themselves in each other in this scene is the reason I incorporated it :)

Thinking a lot about the clothes William Afton wears in the fnaf films…

The first outfit we see him wearing is him as Steve Raglan, his pseudonym. It’s such a simple outfit at first glance: a button up shirt, some pants, glasses, and a tie. The tie is the immediate centerpiece: purple and green stripes. Purple for Afton, green for Springtrap (Springtrap isn’t green but it’s an association with the look of rot). The pants are plain and nothing too crazy, but the shirt is something really fascinating to me. It’s a regular button up with a plaid style, very 80’s and very dad coded. My grandfather used to wear shirts like this ALL the time. It’s the kind of shirt you’d see on any old regular dad, helping him create the illusion he’s a harmless middle aged guy. With a more casual shirt put together with a tie, it comes across as if he’s someone who doesn’t care too much about appearances, someone who dresses more casual to be comfortable. The glasses of course feel like a reference to Dahmer, a real life serial killer. After the second movie, however, it feels more like another way he tried to copy Henry and take from him.

His second scene happens so shortly after his first scene most people don’t even realize he’s in a whole new outfit. This time, the buttoned up shirt is striped and the tie is now purple with polka dots. This again goes back to my idea that he dresses like someone who wants to come across like he doesn’t care too much about appearances (the irony is that he absolutely does.) The way he constantly incorporates his favorite color into all of his outfits gives off the impression that Afton takes utter glee in being a little obvious as to who he is, knowing nobody would pick up on such small details. It’s why he also casually has a rabbit foot on his key ring: it’s a taunt.

Technically, his third outfit is the Yellow Rabbit, but underneath he wears a yellow jumpsuit/mechanic suit. It’s probably just to blend in better with the mascot suit, but I’d like to think that Afton just casually chooses to wear yellow and purple as much as he can since they’re his colors.

In the second movie, we only really see him in one new outfit. He wears some blue jeans and what I think is a corduroy purple button up. Once again this lines up with my theory that Afton likes to primarily wear his two colors. Later in the sequence, his glasses and a brown apron get added to the outfit. I originally assumed the glasses were fake based off of the first movie, but now I theorize that he wears glasses when reading/looking at schematics, possibly being nearsighted. Again, that’s just a theory based off of nothing.
