got a comment on a fic today that genuinely had me almost replying "ma'am this ain't a McDonald's drive-thru" lol

like, don't get me wrong, I love chatting with /my/ readers and I loved receiving suggestions about the characters etc as I was writing or discussing potential missing moments to add some other time!! It's great and I love it!! It's genuinely my favorite part of sharing fanfics, the community it creates and the exchange of ideas!! I cannot say it enough, I ADORE this. But, this has also always happenened within the context of the story itself and any "request" has always been made with enthusiasm and in the most polite and caring way ever!!

(You can tell I print my favorite comments and glue them on my journal)

Now, the comment I received (at story wrapped up, mind you) didn't give any feedback about the fic at all - I don't genuinely know if the user liked the story or not, they didn't say! - and was along the lines of "can you do a miniseries about this and that" and... that was it. Send me an ask here on tumblr with a request if you have to dip immediately after?? Idk idk idk

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I was a little stunned at the lack of... care? politeness? feedback in any form? And I had to get this off my chest lol

as a lesbian who watched 4 seasons of bridgerton, with straight couples as main characters, and still enjoyed it/rooted for them/found them cute, i don’t understand how straight women can’t survive ONE single season about a lesbian couple.
