Hey so if you liked the new tv series GLOW on Netflix may I suggest you check out the documentary about the actual team/tv show that is also on Netflix, GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.
It’s super interesting to see where the fictional narrative deviates and where it cuts close to the bone. Like almost every single character in the tv show is directly inspired by a real person. Only a few appear to be fictionalized entirely. And also, even as un-PC as the show is in places, you can see what they changed to make it more palatable to a modern audience. *If* (and it’s a big if) you have the energy for that sort of thing, it’s v interesting. And *some* of these women who actually went through it, I want to send love letters to for the rest of my life.
i’ll be like 40 w/no kids and people will say “aw i’m so sorry for you” and i’ll be like how was the fucking wiggles reunion tour asshole i went to italy last week for fun and didn’t have to hire a sitter
This is a very sad mentality. To think oneself more important than that of progeny is the sign of a failed human life.
so the wiggles concert wasn’t as good as you thought it would be huh
Donald O’Connor and Gene Kelly … two of the greatest dancers of all time!
“Nobody else in the business could have taken the beating I gave Donald O’Connor in ‘Singin’ In the Rain’ … Donald comes from vaudeville. He’s disciplined. I’ve seen him rehearse a step a thousand times.”
~ Gene Kelly ~
“Working with him? Yeah, he was miserable. No, we had a great time together… I was never offended by Gene, I love the guy too much.”
~ Donald O’Connor ~
And I love you both too much, you sweet guys ❤!

Donald O’Connor and Judy Garland
“The Judy Garland Show”, aired on September 29, 1963
These two sweethearts are so charming, lovable and blessed with such enormous talents ❤ … it blows my mind! They met as kids touring the vaudeville circuit and became lifelong friends. So sad, that they did not make a movie together …
Donald O’Connor in “Are You With It?”, 1948
In this awesome tap dance scene, which is one of my faves, Don is accompanied by his great choreographer Louis DaPron, known as “The Ace of Taps” because of the his almost incredible speed of steps. This scene also shows Don’s fantastic artistic skills …. He was always wonderful, regardless of his age! What an amazing talent … ❤
