i think the reason why moral orel affected me so much is that it's so so close to home for me, what with the whole hypocrisy in religion and all, but

it's so lonely

the entire town pretends to have their lives together but they really aren't at all, and they're all looking for something that will help them become stable

and orel has it naturally, he just has this perfect faith in god that keeps him from becoming horribly twisted like literally every person he has ever known
