At the end of another run and the beginning of a new one, or perhaps a limbo between the two states, there's a casket leaned up against the wall. You've awakened in the middle of what looks like a cozy living room, parts of the structure dilapidated and shrouded in darkness.

The sealed container is overgrown with yellow flowers. The closer You get, the more the vines retreat. Do You open it?

The child wakes- or, atleast, seems to become aware again, they cannot tell if they had warped here somehow.. both always leads to a loss of consciousness, like their brain lags to fully understand the concept of where they are.

They stand, after pushing themselves off of a groudy couch, finding a web left over on their leg- a quick grimace and a gentle peeling of the web were soon to follow off their onesies's leg.

Frisk catches a glimpse of the casket- and it scares them ... must've scared their soul too, as their legs moved to go check out the rest of the room- or, what they could see first.

Areas being blocked out by this unnatural darkness made them hesitant to touch beyond it, but from what they saw with the leftover scraps- it wasnt totally alien.

It just seemed.. even worse, surely if they left this room they could see the rest of the depreciated home- but they couldn't leave. Not with that casket there. Certainly not with that insistent nagging to pull towards it.

It was almost gorgeous in a way, Frisk could think as they stepped towards the casket, their squinted struggling to see properly eyes watching the vines slowly hide closer to the casket.

..There's some doubt that theres something dead in there, to say the least. If not paranormal? Its not their first time dealing with a traditional ghost but- this is certainly not traditional. They arent supposed to be here.

.. Doesn't exactly deter either of them though. Curiosity is just terrible.

They stand at the casket proper, now eye to eye with the flowers which grew on it, though they had the shabbiest vision known to humankind. They could still tell these were close enough to what they had landed on- many, many, many times. Never a real great sign, but also something burns in them to see whats inside.

The containers door is awfully heavy, but nothing that a real good pull cant try to budge.

The casket slowly swings open as if of its own accord with a drawn out creaking, vines crawling back and retreating into the darkness.

In the lightlessness of the grim structure glow two red pinpricks of light before a sickly pale face emerges after them. What had been bright red seconds ago now appear to be more of a dark bronze in color, irises like old clay-dirt, beneath two bushy eyebrows. At least, they seem brown. Their true shade is hard to place.

Almost sleepily, the reanimated child within drags their heavy body out towards Frisk (or, you ), the Dreemurr's adopted human's hands clasping together at their abdomen as if politely.

"Greetings. It's you. I struggle to remember, following my rest and re-awakening,... These in-between periods are strange for me. Would you please clarify,... remind me? What did you do? Did you spare them, or do you stand before me littered in dust and whatever's left of their hopes and dreams?"

Frisk flinched- hands moving away from the opening door and the sudden flicker of red glow- it sparks a memory repressed and guiltridden before quickly dissipating like a put out candle flame- but Frisk had not yet moved back, not until the other child started to crawl out from the casket- only then did they move, afraid of the moving arms which ended up keeping to themselves.

The dead-and-freshly-buried look of Chara did nothing to make the kid relax, the muddied and hard to fully discern look wasnt helped by the blurring of their vision.. it was hard not to notice, though, the blurry yellow which smeared their face. Maybe panic was causing Frisk to not fully absorb every detail. Unfortunate.

Almost shivering in place as it spoke, the way they spoke almost seemed to fly over Frisk entirely, aiming at A completely separate thing than themselves- but they barely even understood the You in question. Was it something behind, inside, or watching them? Seemed there was always something they couldn't see.

..Eitherway..Its rude to not answer, and they're used- atleast somewhat, to this weird form of speaking over them rather than at them.

They shake their head, almost excessively at the ladder question- palms pushed together in plead in pursuit to convince- they werent lying, and You had no reason to lie either! That'd only get them in more trouble- which they really- really really didnt want.

Atleast, not yet, anyways.

The stranger watched them flinch, a cruel smile upturning their features.

As Frisk shuddered, Chara observed their every shift in expression and body language, the green-sweatered being's hair a mess of choppy red-brown layers matted by time and the neglect of death.

The strands hung over Chara's cheeks and forehead unevenly as they began to float, looming over Frisk, briefly appearing emaciated, visage sunken, flowers sprouting from their ears, nose, an eye— which had momentarily become nothing more than a dark empty socket for buttercups to take root within. Dark black rot dripped down their face, from mouth and eye and nose. Maybe once it'd been blood.

"Are you certain?" They asked, their voice distorting, twisting, darker yet darker, both deeper and higher in pitch simultaneously. "Is there any dirt beneath your fingernails? Anything you fail to remember? Are you a liar? A rotten monster, a killer? Do you betray and hurt people? A failure? A waste of space? Better off, better off dead annnd buried?"

They only become more afraid, frozen still in place as they watch and- god forbid, smell the deathly flora start to pop from any sockets it could crawl out of, their nose catching a whiff of rotten diseased "gunk" which smelt like infection and iron. It was horribly strong when you're standing so close to it and watching it bloom.

Frisk found themselves suddenly giving a sob out of fear, the sight was grotesque- and when was the last time they saw blood?

Ah- yes, You remembered- or atleast, you thoight you did, it seemed like blood when it leaked down on that golden colored ground.

They saw bones too- of course they had, Charas casket wasnt the first one theyd approach with a cats curiosity to open, only to be jostled by the mostly consumed bodies, but this was akin to watching a body rot in real time, seeing nature retake it with it.

Chara's words hurt the most, they felt true- probably were true, after all, what had they even reset for again? Some sense of .. boredom? Some feeling of inadequacy?

Frisk didnt know, even when they reset it felt like theyd completely stopped being conscious for a blip before it was back.

Theyre crying now. Its almost pathetic. The continued drilling into what theyd done- and tried to reset-and-forget.. its miserable. Theyre miserable. Dare it be said almost inconsolable. Luckily enough Frisk wasnt a loud crier, their arms moving over their eyes as they whine like a wounded dog, at most.

They shake their head, quick but very readable; no, theyre not certain. Not at all.

Chara lowers to the ground once more, landing on their old brown mary janes with the gold button clasps, their socks just as tattered and faded by time as their green and yellow sweater is, so akin to the many similar sweaters in Toriel's wardrobes.

They wipe their leaking eyes and mouth on their sleeve as the flowers wilt and fall off. Whatever was dripping soon ceases. Their eye re-emerges into its usual place.

"So you do feel."

Those brown eyes study Frisk intenty, a small smile lifting Chara's pale lips, which had also been wiped clean of the yellow stains the flowers they'd once consumed incidentally when they'd intended to wipe off the dark goop.

Their smile is strained. It doesn't meet their eyes. Something odd and subtle knits their eyebrows together, some sort of feeling seeing Frisk cry had inflicted.

"Quit crying, you baby. I've seen you do some terrible things. I mean, of course you would. That's the human way." They sneer. "You don't get to cry after that. Not with your perverse sentimentality, coming back again and again, making sure you got every last one,..."

Then, a long pause.

"... Unless you didn't do it. You're, what,... Five years old?" They teased dryly, despite being well aware Frisk was about their age. "Then again, that doesn't mean anything. I've done a lot, too, and I'm still a kid. But you'd always drag yourself around like you were already dead, and your skin had this weird, gross look to it like something was squirming under it... It was really creepy."

"I'm not stupid, Frisk. I've known there's something more to you, something looking at me through your eyes. After seeing it do it all over and over, observing its behaviors, trying to figure out what its goals could possibly be,... All it seemed to care about was making all the numbers go up. Wiping everyone out, making me stronger so we could reach the highest point,... just trying to see what happened if they did all that."

"...For a while, I wanted to get stronger. I wanted to see what happened, too. But I thought it'd choose to erase everything when it was done. I thought it'd be satisfied. I didn't understand why it'd want to ruin everything and then come back and pretend to be a good person, like it hadn't done all that... But I realize now that, maybe, that thing inside you felt some sort of pathetic sense of guilt and thought returning and pretending everything was normal would fix it, would save everyone it'd hurt, as if that was a point it could come back from, redeem itself for."

"...During all that, I'd never seen you cry. You'd barely made an expression. I could hardly tell you were even a human anymore. But now,... Now? You're just about bawling your eyes out! It's gone, isn't it?... Or maybe it's still in there, just waiting, watching everything. That's so fucked up."

They stepped closer, head tilted, watching Frisk's face like they were attempting to peek through a misted window.

No it's jerry....of course it's me!

[Chara stepped closer tentatively out of the darkness, skin pale and sickly in appearance, their mouth still stained yellow, bags beneath their eyes. They were smiling a strained, uneasy smile, but took care not to allow their feelings to become obvious, trying to be aloof.]

Been awhile. Didja miss me, crybaby?

[Their voice had a hollow windy sound to it, like an old instrument. It was soft, raspy, somewhat sore sounding. Gritty, like it hurt to talk.]

The flower nodded gently looking over at his sibling giving a smile "sometimes.....okay yes...alot...and you sound like crap" he teases chara "you want....we can go to waterfall?"

"You better have! Don't let that Frisk kid replace me." They jested, though there was a subtle note of bitterness to their joke that suggested maybe that was only partially playful, half jealous. Their ruddy brown eyes were less guarded than usual, solemn nostalgia peeking through. They'd missed him too, terribly.

"Gimme a break! You'd sound like crap too if you were me." Chara teased back, sticking their tongue out at him.

They didn't seem to object to Flowey's Waterfall idea, even if they didn't outright voice an agreement. Seems that was a yes.

The flower takes a deep breath "I'd never replace you...I'd die again before replacing you " he blinks before speaking "I can't get through the ruins it's mostly stone... and ughh..not enough room to move underground "

Chara looks Flowey's way with a big ol' smile, exaggerated, like they always used to do. "Good!" Though, one gets the feeling they wouldn't really want him to die, even if he replaced them. There's just something about the way they look at him ever since he returned into their life a few moments ago, even if they try to fight it.

They've been holding back for a long time, trying to rein themself in, trying to cope with all the loss in their own "brave" way Asriel used to envy, even though it really wasn't all that healthy when you got to the bottom of it. Trying to act like their found family of monsters wasn't the most important thing in the world to them, the only thing that'd ever mattered.

Turning their gaze ahead to peer down the Ruins entry corridor, they frowned, squinting. Hmm...

"Since you're a flower now,... I guess I'd have to put you in a pot somehow, if we wanted to go through there to get to Waterfall,... I mean, I could go through easy! Since I'm not real anymore. I mean, I am,... Sort of, in a way, but not real enough to not be able to phase through walls. But that'd mean you'd have to stay here, and I intend to take you with."

The unsaid version of their words went a little like this, implied, hardly ever spoken: I don't want to leave you alone again. I don't want to lose you again. I want you to come with me.

"I mean,... Do you gotta be put in a pot to be transported? Or can I just rip you out of the ground and hold you in my hand? Would that kill you?"

"Wouldn't that be like ripping an arm off?" The flower asked with slight fearful squeak before taking a deep breath in.... "mom's probably got her gardening tools...in her house...she has multiple....and um just call me asriel or azzy...o-" the flowers eyes shrunk "who said you could talk ya baby?..."

"It would, for sure! I'm going to rip your flower-arms right off!" Chara teased, fake lunging at him with their hands curled like claws, before bursting into laughter. They always did have a dark sense of humor.

"Whatever! You're the baby. You're like... ten years old, which is basically like being five years old." They pestered upon misinterpreting Flowey to be talking to them, starting to drag their body towards the ruins's entrance. They then paused, looking briefly like something had whacked the wind out of them as they gazed into the darkness of the archway. Nothing had,... at least, not literally, and yet they'd froze up.

"You really are an idiot..." the flower giggled manically "you think i was talking to you? " he snorts "oh that's rich hehe the potted plant shoots a friendliness pellet at chara missing them

Flowey's violent intervention snapped them out of whatever the Ruins's entrance had made them think of, which they were grateful for, in their own twisted way. This was more familiar, easier. Self-preservation, heart-pounding anticipation for the next attack coming their way, the feeling of knowing from familiarity what someone was going to do to them and how it would feel. Simpler, baser feelings.

Chara struggles to catch their breaths, always seeming to wheeze. They barely dodge the pellet. It's been a while since they were in one of these situations.

While their brows furrow, they smile, but it almost looks more like a snarl. Their teeth are stained yellow in places.

"Don't forget what happened the last time you tried this." They threaten. "I was scraping flower off of my shoe for half an hour after."

The flower laughed coldly "anything to make that weakling I share a damnn body with... even more traumatised..... everything you did...all the times you killed us.... he felt it too....partner..." he started laughing crazed just giggling before attempting to burrow away ......"have fun hunting him down!"

They got that odd look they'd had at the Ruins's door, looking down at Flowey with wide eyes and a pale face, their breathing staggering.

Chara laughed and laughed and laughed then, smiling until the sides of their mouth stung. It was so funny that they could throw up! It was so funny that they felt sick! It was so funny, so, so funny, so funny.

"Whatever! That doesn't even matter. It was good for him, anyways. Maybe then he'd toughen up and learn to get used to it." Like they had.

Rooting around in the pocket of their brown shorts, Chara withdrew an old pocket knife, racing towards the golden flower to quickly carve at the dirt around it until the plant sat on a hunk of soil, which the child scooped into their hand and held onto, tucking the knife away in their pocket.

Despite all their talk, they'd refused to stomp Flowey out or tug him out of the ground without a dirt base. They'd just packed him an oval of mulch and started walking towards the Ruins. They figured they'd find Toriel's house and get Flowey a proper pot.

As much as they feared facing their adoptive mother again after everything, Asriel's wellbeing took first priority, and they'd like a convenient way to travel the underground with him.

The flower woke up behind the exit doors to the ruins...he looked around as he paused sinking into his voidness ...both began to argue asriel was biting the flower with his teeth ripping it's petals off ..."i hate you i hate you!" The prince screamed as flowey couldn't reply due to the continuous assault by the time chara got to the snowdin entrance...their brother was a mess

"By the Angel, stop fighting!" Chara complained, having got Flowey a decent pot. They'd been both relieved and a little sorrowful not to have run into Toriel when grabbing it. Definitely kept things uncomplicated, though.

"Now I've got two whiny lame crybabies." Mainly a jab at Flowey as their brown boots crunched over snow, hoping he'd take the bait and feel embarrassed. Maybe the aggravation would distract him and he'd be tempted to defend himself verbally instead of attacking Asriel, or vice versa.

"You're right ..." and there's her brother's true self "I can shut him up...it just takes alot....how'd the pot search go?" Azz smiled weakly his petals slowy healing

"Always am," Chara answered playfully, despite the pinched skin between their eyebrows and exaggeration to their eyebags implying they were more worried than they cared to let on.

"Pot search went fine. Do you like it? Is it... roomy enough? Not really sure what qualifications a good pot meets, given I'm not a flower. Against popular belief, you aren't actually what you eat."

Asriel nodded snorting an actual happy one "oh..oh that's gold char!" The flower tried to hop "oh right....um how do you feel about ...doing somthing with precision...... because if my roots are there....it'd be basically a cut off operation "

"It is!" Chara jested, using a finger to lift the corner of their sore mouth to display their gold-en flower stained molars, before giggling. They'd missed telling dumb jokes with their brother, who always laughed like they were the funniest thing in the world.

They'd missed their brother's laughter. They'd missed inspiring something other than fear.

They'd missed the same softness they acted like they'd rather him be without, the sensitivity that made him Asriel.

Truth be told, the best time of their life had been the days before the failed village plan, when they lived with Toriel and Asriel was as much of a softie as Asgore had been.

"... Doing what, specifically? Whaddya got in mind, Azzy?"

Chara let him hop free, observing him with a tilted head and a small, casual smile. Less forced than earlier.

But he couldn't hop free he's rooted the soil "just dig me out... I'm sick and tired of being in the soil just plain sick!" The flower licked his lips "I'll go through my own stem if I have to"

"Well, alright! If you say so! Wanna go back on the ground, or do you have other plans?"

Chara shaved away clumped dirt until Flowey was free of the soily prison, admiring their handiwork while they put their knife back in their pocket.

"Okay carry me please"... he worms his way to the pot doing his best and trying to climb in "ughh why did alphys not give me limbs!" He had a tiny huff struggling to get in this was probably the best entertainment for chara "cmonnn almost!'

Chara snorted. "I doubt Alphys was focused on legs of all things when she was trying to feed the flower determination or whatever she was doing in that dusty old lab."

They watched the flower squirm about, all sorts of mischevious and amused, before they fiiiinally leaned down, tapping their chin in an exaggerated fashion.

"Hmmm... I dunno if I really wanna carry a stupid flower around... Guess you'll have to convince me! What's in it for me if I babysit you?"

"You have a candy named after yoursef ..it's called charbar" the prince smiled at chara...."I'm sure dess is around somewere...I'm thinking about telling her " he looks shy

"I guess I'm convinced," Chara answered, lifting the flower into their hands, hugging the pot close for reasons surely only related to efficiency and not how much they'd missed their brother. Surely.

"What do you want to tell Dess, anywho?"

They didn't really know Dess, honestly. They knew of her, vaguely. They were awful curious, though.

That other world had only been tiptoed into by Asriel's sibling, peeked at on the sidelines. There had never been a moment in which they'd actually tried to talk to anyone up there, typically sticking to the familiar Underground instead.

It unsettled them to know an Asriel existed out there, growing to adulthood without them while they stayed a dead kid down here in a world with no sunlight. They hoped they'd never accidentally run into that other Asriel; the thought of that Asriel not recognizing or knowing them at all while living the life they'd always wanted,... A world where they'd never existed, none of their sacrifices or struggles known of or remembered by anyone...

None of that mattered, though. Dess wasn't that otherworld Asriel, even if she came from the same place. Chara wondered what she'd be like? They felt wary, but less wary than they might've if Dess was a human.

"That I'm a talking souless flower..." he replied seriously as he was carried through snowdin.....the town hadn't changed much at all people turned then turned away... "no..that's not them..." a monster whispers confused as the entrance to the caves neared a thirteen year old deer girl monster was seen... she was dressed in a yellow and green themed jacket and black pants carrying a bat at her side... "...no...no I'm seeing shit...chara?"

"Yeahhh, that might be pretty important to tell her,... I kinda thought you already did, though!" Chara pondered, idly tapping their fingers on the outside of the pot in thought. "Then again, I guess you could've just not met her as a flower yet,... How long have you known Dess?"

They wondered how they themself hadn't met her, if Dess and Asriel had known each other. Maybe there were some timeline hijinks going on, or this could be a different Azzy, even if Asriel remembered a Chara.

Maybe they weren't this Asriel's Chara. As confounding as universe things were, they were kind of just relieved they knew an Asriel, had him in their life at all, given everything they'd both gone through in nearly every timeline. It was like the world had decided happiness wasn't meant for either of them.

They didn't voice any of their other thoughts, though, caught off guard as they were addressed directly, eyes big and wide.

They were mildly startled by the eyes on them. Chara didn't want to be recognized, but they did, at the same time. It was complicated. What if people hated them? Misunderstood them? What if they hurt them? What if people were... kind to them?...

What would they even do then? They were so unused to it, even if Toriel, Asgore, and their son had welcomed them once upon a time. It was hard to internalize all that positivity when nearly all they'd known before and after the Dreemurrs had been pain and fear.

They almost wanted to be scary, so that they wouldn't have to confront all those soft vulnerable feelings they felt.

"... Dess? That's your name, right?" Chara began hesitantly, eyeing her. They knew the answer, but it felt like a natural start to the conversation, a casual pleasantry. Like that was what they thought would be normal to say.

Wherever Chara limped,— with Flowey in hand,— buttercups grew along the ground, each half-wilted.

The deer monster froze giving chara a look of pure confusion anger than suprise "your highness " December in an instinct kneels her bat thumping against the ground like a knight ..."i...do not understand....but i will protect you.....i-i owe asriel that..." the flower just kept quiet... he didn't know how to reply... how do you?...

"... Highness?" Chara murmured in confusion, wondering if Dess was referring to themself, Asriel, or both. Either way, they half stifled a short laugh, grinning, covering their mouth with a hand.

Still, no matter who the deer gal kneeled to, they couldn't help but feel a bit of pride and over-confidence as a result. It was fun to pretend it was for them.

"Who're you protecting? Me? The flower?... Both?"

As usual, Chara spoke plenty enough for both themself and Asriel, in the midst of the flower's speechlessness.

"You chara" December replied gently "may i accompany you and your....pet?' She asked curiously wishing to aid them for today wanting to be faithful

Chara then realized she wasn't playing a joke on them, eyes widening once more. They squinted at her, made an odd face, then looked away, almost appearing sheepish, shy for some reason. Confused, flattered in a way they wished they weren't. Time to save face with more deadpan humor.

"Yeah, sure, why not. Prince Chara, at your service. This is my pet, Flowey."

That last part was a joke. They just liked to rile Asriel up.

Dess nodded whilst flowey was fighting everything not to bite their sibling the deer tilted her head...."there's somthing about that flower.....it feels familiar...." she leaned down to asriels eye level

"Yeah? You meet a lot of talking yellow flowers down here?" Chara quipped, always way too smug and sarcastic for their own good, greatly amused by their brother's frustration.

"This one's grown from special fertilizer. You could say he's a decomposer."

Well, that was ominous. Of course, they refused to elaborate.

December nodded before freezing "only one person called me dess...." she looks at the floor gripping her bat tight "and he's gone...." the flower spoke up.....gently "I'm not all....gone dess" .....December blinked before proceeding to faint the poor thing flowey looks genuinely concerned "shit!" He yelled

Chara startled, gently setting Flowey's pot down to rush over and try to lift December, instinctively checking for a pulse. Sure, rationally, they'd figure she'd just passed out,... But Chara was more used to the grimmer reasons one might suddenly fall to the ground, so they did get a bit worried momentarily. Even if they refused to acknowledge it.

"December! December,..."

Upon confirming she had only fainted, Chara exhaled deeply, relieved nothing serious had happened.

They grinned at Flowey, playing at a brave face now that they were sure nothing terrible had occurred. "Now look what you did, dumb flower! You can't just say oh hi Dess, it's Asriel! I know I died, but now I'm a talking flower and everything's fine! Delivered it so casually, like you were talking about the weather."

They'd missed their brother's laughter. They'd missed inspiring something other than fear.

They'd missed the same softness they acted like they'd rather him be without, the sensitivity that made him Asriel.

Truth be told, the best time of their life had been the days before the failed village plan, when they lived with Toriel and Asriel was as much of a softie as Asgore had been.

Chara let him hop free, observing him with a tilted head and a small, casual smile. Less forced than earlier.

But he couldn't hop free he's rooted the soil "just dig me out... I'm sick and tired of being in the soil just plain sick!" The flower licked his lips "I'll go through my own stem if I have to"

"Well, alright! If you say so! Wanna go back on the ground, or do you have other plans?"

Chara shaved away clumped dirt until Flowey was free of the soily prison, admiring their handiwork while they put their knife back in their pocket.

Chara snorted. "I doubt Alphys was focused on legs of all things when she was trying to feed the flower determination or whatever she was doing in that dusty old lab."

They watched the flower squirm about, all sorts of mischevious and amused, before they fiiiinally leaned down, tapping their chin in an exaggerated fashion.

"Hmmm... I dunno if I really wanna carry a stupid flower around... Guess you'll have to convince me! What's in it for me if I babysit you?"

"You have a candy named after yoursef ..it's called charbar" the prince smiled at chara...."I'm sure dess is around somewere...I'm thinking about telling her " he looks shy

"I guess I'm convinced," Chara answered, lifting the flower into their hands, hugging the pot close for reasons surely only related to efficiency and not how much they'd missed their brother. Surely.

"What do you want to tell Dess, anywho?"

They didn't really know Dess, honestly. They knew of her, vaguely. They were awful curious, though.

They didn't voice any of their other thoughts, though, caught off guard as they were addressed directly, eyes big and wide.

They almost wanted to be scary, so that they wouldn't have to confront all those soft vulnerable feelings they felt.

Wherever Chara limped,— with Flowey in hand,— buttercups grew along the ground, each half-wilted.

"... Highness?" Chara murmured in confusion, wondering if Dess was referring to themself, Asriel, or both. Either way, they half stifled a short laugh, grinning, covering their mouth with a hand.

Still, no matter who the deer gal kneeled to, they couldn't help but feel a bit of pride and over-confidence as a result. It was fun to pretend it was for them.

"Who're you protecting? Me? The flower?... Both?"

As usual, Chara spoke plenty enough for both themself and Asriel, in the midst of the flower's speechlessness.

"You chara" December replied gently "may i accompany you and your....pet?' She asked curiously wishing to aid them for today wanting to be faithful

"Yeah, sure, why not. Prince Chara, at your service. This is my pet, Flowey."

That last part was a joke. They just liked to rile Asriel up.

The sealed container is overgrown with yellow flowers. The closer You get, the more the vines retreat. Do You open it?

They stand, after pushing themselves off of a groudy couch, finding a web left over on their leg- a quick grimace and a gentle peeling of the web were soon to follow off their onesies's leg.

Frisk catches a glimpse of the casket- and it scares them ... must've scared their soul too, as their legs moved to go check out the rest of the room- or, what they could see first.

Areas being blocked out by this unnatural darkness made them hesitant to touch beyond it, but from what they saw with the leftover scraps- it wasnt totally alien.

It was almost gorgeous in a way, Frisk could think as they stepped towards the casket, their squinted struggling to see properly eyes watching the vines slowly hide closer to the casket.

.. Doesn't exactly deter either of them though. Curiosity is just terrible.

The containers door is awfully heavy, but nothing that a real good pull cant try to budge.

The casket slowly swings open as if of its own accord with a drawn out creaking, vines crawling back and retreating into the darkness.

Almost sleepily, the reanimated child within drags their heavy body out towards Frisk (or, you ), the Dreemurr's adopted human's hands clasping together at their abdomen as if politely.

..Eitherway..Its rude to not answer, and they're used- atleast somewhat, to this weird form of speaking over them rather than at them.

The stranger watched them flinch, a cruel smile upturning their features.

As Frisk shuddered, Chara observed their every shift in expression and body language, the green-sweatered being's hair a mess of choppy red-brown layers matted by time and the neglect of death.

[Their voice had a hollow windy sound to it, like an old instrument. It was soft, raspy, somewhat sore sounding. Gritty, like it hurt to talk.]

The flower nodded gently looking over at his sibling giving a smile "sometimes.....okay yes...alot...and you sound like crap" he teases chara "you want....we can go to waterfall?"

"Gimme a break! You'd sound like crap too if you were me." Chara teased back, sticking their tongue out at him.

They didn't seem to object to Flowey's Waterfall idea, even if they didn't outright voice an agreement. Seems that was a yes.

Turning their gaze ahead to peer down the Ruins entry corridor, they frowned, squinting. Hmm...

The unsaid version of their words went a little like this, implied, hardly ever spoken: I don't want to leave you alone again. I don't want to lose you again. I want you to come with me.

"I mean,... Do you gotta be put in a pot to be transported? Or can I just rip you out of the ground and hold you in my hand? Would that kill you?"

"You really are an idiot..." the flower giggled manically "you think i was talking to you? " he snorts "oh that's rich hehe the potted plant shoots a friendliness pellet at chara missing them

Chara struggles to catch their breaths, always seeming to wheeze. They barely dodge the pellet. It's been a while since they were in one of these situations.

While their brows furrow, they smile, but it almost looks more like a snarl. Their teeth are stained yellow in places.

"Don't forget what happened the last time you tried this." They threaten. "I was scraping flower off of my shoe for half an hour after."

They got that odd look they'd had at the Ruins's door, looking down at Flowey with wide eyes and a pale face, their breathing staggering.

"Whatever! That doesn't even matter. It was good for him, anyways. Maybe then he'd toughen up and learn to get used to it." Like they had.

As much as they feared facing their adoptive mother again after everything, Asriel's wellbeing took first priority, and they'd like a convenient way to travel the underground with him.

"You're right ..." and there's her brother's true self "I can shut him up...it just takes alot....how'd the pot search go?" Azz smiled weakly his petals slowy healing
