It has come to the attention of the members of the Interregional Pokémon League that due to violation of our rules of conduct representing the event, along with personal wishes of the effecting party that the final brackets will have to be readjusted.

CLOSING CEREMONY SPEECH TRANSCRIPT

The lights of the stadium are familiar companions by now. In this moment they take on a heroic connotation as they land on you, contestants. 

Amidst a sea of onlookers, you stand together in the repurposed arena, representatives from all over the globe and icons of your respective regions. 

The sash on your person is a symbol of personal triumph among your fellow competitors.

Perhaps you went on to climb the brackets and perhaps you were destined to fall, but regardless of the outcome of your matches you proved without a shadow of a doubt your undeniable right to be here.

Your proprietor, Sabrina, stands tall and next to her stands a stern looking Alakazam, holding in his hands a slew of medals, and cherrywood boxes at his feet. Sabrina gives you a small almost imperceptible smile as you all walk across the way and place yourselves in spots that she marked with chalk X's.

Sabrina clears her throat and her voice is magnified as she speaks calling out to the 100,000 attendees that will watch you claim your prizes.

"Greetings contestants. Over the last three weeks you have fought with honor against some of the toughest challenges in the entire world. I congratulate you on your accomplishments and encourage you to not let these be your only accomplishments."

She extends a hand to receive the journeyman top three contenders first, the three younger contestants crossing the stadium to stand on a stair like podium, or if necessary, be gently levitated to the top

"In third place, in the half light we have Kaito of the Kanto region. Treading the line of life and death, Champion of Death Giulia of Aeldria. And finally rising to the top representing Po Town, of Alola, champion of Life, Reese."

There is thunderous applause. The lights on you, and the dozens of sets of eyes seeing you as heroes for the first and not last time, you will never forget. You are medaled on the podium. 

The elites stand up.

"For the elite bracket. Representing Paldea in the half light, Larry, of Paldea. Walking the line of life and death, Champion of Death, Zain, of Aeldria. In the light, Champion of Life, Hassel of Paldea."

You are medaled on the podium to climbing applause. Some people cheer.

"For our challengers. In the half light stands Professor Mallow of Kanto. Hanging on the precipice of life and death is Nivallis of Sinnoh. In the light stands Señor Saguaro, teacher of Paldea and now Champion of Life."

You are medaled. There are chants and cheers for you being started, and escalating.

"In the half light of our World Leader bracket stands La Primera Geeta, representing Paldea. Our Champion of Death stands as Aspen, an independant, and facing the dawn as Champion of Life while being part of the shadow is Strelitzia of Atoma"

You are medaled, people start a rhythm of stomping and clapping.

"Representing our type expert brackets in the half light stands the fairy expert James of Alto Mare. Representing Galar are the Champions of Death and Life, Piers, and Raihan, two sides of the coin.”

You are medaled. The stomping grows in intensity.

“And lastly, in the half light of Champions, La Primera Geeta, again representing Paldea. And our Champions of Death, and Life, both representing Pallet Town, Champion Leaf and Battle Legend Red.”

Jubilant chaos rules the stands, and the cheering lasts for minutes on end. Contestants take podiums.

Sabrina waits for a moment, and that moment is punctuated by that sensation of pressure, and you watch the motion of the crowds slow to a standstill. To you in the arena, time stops.

“To you, my arbiters, I give you a final gift. At the beginning, I gave you the task of fighting with your all, and now I hand you a responsibility greater than yourself. There is a saying, in the Sevii Isles, that you must take with you along with the connections you have made. It goes as such.

Everything

has meaning

Existence

has meaning

Being alive

has meaning

Have dreams

Use power.

And to all of you. Safe journey. May you never forget these words.”

The ceremony concludes with you escorted off the arena. You filter with your loved ones and partners away into the night of Saffron.

To what end? 

Does it matter?

It means something to exist. So live.

Gifts for Contestants! Enjoy

1) A local litwick enthusiast and custom candle shop owner has prepared you, the contestants, a large custom candle based upon your team! The smell is a personal scent that you enjoy, and doesn't trigger any allergies due to the materials used to make it.

2) The Plum Baron of Saffron invites contestants to the Saffron Sake House A small celebration of the PWT contestants occurs. An invitation to the Sake House means all expenses paid for sake tasting, paring with various foods, and a tour of the house (food included of course). All contestant pokemon additionally can sup some Pokemon-only brew. All pokemon gain a level.

3) The Picky-Peck World Tasters show has stopped in Saffron to review the local cuisine. The PWT meets the PWT, and everyone involved agrees that contestants of the tournament should also sample a selection of Picky-Peck's famous collection of recipes. You receive a collection of hot and tasty appetizers, as well as an invitation to the food truck caravan, to also be on the Picky-Peck show  for the Saffron Episode, with famous television host, Firey Guy.

4)  The community inside garden invites the PWT contestants to pick vegetables and fill a huge bag for them and their pokemon. The head gardener gives each contestant a package of seeds and a planter to take with them. All Grass and Poison pokemon gain a level.

5)  The Foxtrotters, a group of antique vendors specializing in fashion exports from around the world have come into town to set up in the Saffron City Department Store. Contestants can peruse the wares and find something fresh and new to put on themselves, and maybe even their pokemon!

6)  You receive a personally selected edible arrangement from Sabrina. Some fruits are covered in several kinds of chocolate, some decorated with edible gold, and all themed with the colors of your PWT sash.  

7)  Saffron Luxury Onsen opens for the PWT contestants exclusively The bathhouse has tea baths, coffee baths, and wine baths. Heated mineral water rejuvenates you and bathing is even opened to tattooed  contestants. All pokemon gain a level.

8)  You get a package with an athletic outfit and new backpack in your size from a local Saffron designer. It's the beginning of fashion week! The family owned business sends their regards!

9)  You all receive a secret invitation to the Madrigoran Society Party on the outskits of Kanto. This invitation is for a rave run by the underground passage esper muralists, and is a hub for psychic talent exchanges. If you go you end up covered in lipstick kisses and blacklight paint. It's a good time. You got a lot of phone numbers.

10)  The Saffron museum of Fashion opens its new exhibit.  Contestants get free admission to the museum, and are able to speak with and commission the designers for personal pieces.

11)  The PWT Parade: Floats and gigantic balloons head down the main streets of Saffron, a dancing  Gyarados, mimicking Green's Gyarados with its glowing tattoos, at the head of the parade. Pokemon in costume toss sweets and balls of stickers to onlookers, and several of the floats are decorated to represent the different regions.

Team Skull Flashmob 

Team Skull fans have coordinated to do a glowtick rave dance at the PWT stadium. No one at the actual Team Skull knows who they are. They seem to be new fans.

RANDOM EVENTS Rolled a 20 on a d100 Piers concert 

Saffron's concert hall is OPEN for business. Sabrina's expertise in cinematics, technology, and pyrotechnics is really coming in handy! Piers explodes onto the scene, and a concert is held in the high tech battle stadiums. The arenas are programmed for Piers's concert, with the special effects team working overtime. All contestants may attend free of charge with a VIP afterparty, DJ'd by legendary jockey the DJ Nightshade. The drinks are exceptionally good.

Rolled a 91 on a d100 Ho-oh flies over 

A huge rainbow silhouette of a bird cuts the vision of Saffron from the sky, trailing gold behind it. There's a powerful aura in the air, and characters feel their wounds and aches heal and lessen.  Sicknesses and ailments lessen in severity, and minor ones heal entirely. The eye of a great spirit falls on the tournament, pleased at the shows of power.

Emotions have risen to a fever pitch! Every contestant may now roll their dice at advantage (roll 2d12 and take the higher number)! All pokemon gain a level.

The Rotom that record some of the battle camera angles start patrolling the audience and land on YOU and THE PERSON SITTING NEXT TO YOU. A floating lovedisc border surrounds you. QUICK WHAT DO YOU DO????????

Rolled 45 on a d100 

A meowth sneaks into the stadium and has to get chased around to get off the field. It runs through every single stadium. 

The camera people and Rotom make a show of insane action shots. The entire affair delays every match by an hour while people try to pick the field clean of payday coins.

The Manifestations of MT. SILVER are laid to rest.

Contestants from across the globe banded together in secret, charging into the Viridian Forest after reports that strange monsters were seen among the ancient boughs. They were not just monsters, but manifestations that had been locked away inside the mountain for centuries, awakened by the eruption.

Great spirits, deific Pokémon, powerful monsters banded together to exorcise these horrible creatures for reasons personal to each contestant. One thing is clear though.

Each twisted apparition sank into the ground after such hard fought battles, injury and exhaustion rampant through the ranks. 

There were words exchanged, and checking afterwards. 

Hours after each collection of trainers disbanded, a small sprig of a cherry blossom grew from the ash left behind.

You feel as if you have done an impossibly good deed.

The mountain has erupted, and four great manifestations have fallen into Viridian Forest! 

Contestants can band together to expel these massive monsters! (And hit them with Starmobiles, apparently).

Everyone had an absolutely wild night regardless of circumstances and is now post-fun achey. What kind of fun? I don't know! Party hard. All Pokemon gain a level.

No matter what the weather is. The weather immediately gets worse.

RANDOM EVENT Rolled 11 on a d100 There's a meteor shower and small wishes come true! Though they may manifest in strange ways.

A finger curls over the mankey's paw. Any small wishes made on stars will come true in the next 24 hours, but in the weirdest possible ways. All Normal type pokemon gain 1 level.

Hello, competitors!

This is beloved host Remy, reaching out in the hours of this emergency evening!

The local officers are already working on making sure everyone is in safe and secure locations. If you are in your hotel room, please, remain in your hotel room until further notice.

Saffron City is safe from the majority of the tremors, and the ash and soot will settle within a few hours. Please, remain in your places and await further word from your tournament instructors.
