I’ve been thinking about an DarkSamAU for Death Stranding for a while because I really loved the first game.

In this version, Sam lost Lou after the ending with Amelie — the ending changed a bit: he spent millennia on Amelie’s Beach, and no one saved him because there was no way to do it. But I also tweaked the meaning of the dreamcatcher Amelie gave Sam as a child. Lockne modified it into something like a cage; Sam sealed Amelie’s power and herself inside it, and it became a catalyst for absorbing the power of Amelie’s Beach. After absorbing the power, he escaped the Beach, but when he found out Lou was gone and due to the power of a billion Kā and BTs, he started going insane. So Sam became not just an Extinction Entity, but an Immortal Madman with insane powers, unleashing Voidouts. He wanted revenge on everyone, rejected the whole ‘should be connected by a network’ concept, brought Higgs back from the Beach to mess with Fragile (who betrayed him), and also to keep him from causing trouble on the Beach — plus, he’s experienced in terrorism (though logically, killing Higgs would make sense, but hey, I’m not writing post-canon here, so it’s major OOC and I have a thing for angsty Sam/Higgs dynamics).

I also thought about how Higgs would betray Sam (like, playing both sides) and help Fragile stop him… hahaha..

I made a little comic with this AU I really want draw more as far as my weakness allows
