Crappy iPhone pics of the prototype of my interactive BSA origami DNA strand informational flyer. 

I'm actually very impressed with how this turned out and I hope the final product will be successful in grabbing people's attention. I plan to make a bunch of these, accessorize them a bit, and hang them all up around campus. 

I'm also currently working on a flat (conventional) flyer to hand out to prospective members and such and that will be posted here in the near future.

Spring '14 Semester Doodle Dump (1/2)

Just a few pages of my doodles from over the course of this past semester.

In exploring (or "dabbling in," I guess) graphic design, I tend to gravitate towards geometric shapes a lot (especially triangles and hexagons.. probably because to me they "feel" more balanced and they generally integrate well). 

Since I've had chemistry on the mind for quite a while (not at all looking forward to OChem next semester..), I decided to mess around with the periodic table of elements as a sort of messy hands-on type of activity with geometric shapes in graphic design. 

This is a very early work-in-progress kind of thing, so I do intend to properly balance the graphic, improve the spacing, add a color legend, add the atomic masses, and polish it up overall, but I found it interesting how you could condense the periodic table this way.

The table's divided into the s-block, p-block, d-block, and f-block, and each color set indicates whether it's a halogen, a nonmetal, an alkali metal, etc.
