Drones are used everywhere, from mining, salvaging, deliveries etc, to more advanced autonomous roles such as light defence and planet surveying.

They are capable machines, but are nothing compared to the AIs of old. It's probably for the best.

With their onboard wormhole generator, jump freighters are able to cross intergalactic distances in the blink of an eye.

Spaceshiptember 2023 Day 2: Racing

There are no other races more difficult than the Xirius Interplanetary. Starting off at the edge of the system, racers have to burn hard towards the star before using its gravity to fling them towards Xirius, plunging near-vertically through the atmosphere then dashing towards the finish at sea level.

Some racers have lost due to getting too close to the star and burning up, disintegrating on re-entry, or pulling up too hard near the sea and breaking apart from the g-forces.
