If you don't know: the Gross Sisters being blue is based on a colorist stereotype where if a darkskinned Black person didn't have lotion on(so ashy) they become blue

Proud Family, as much as we love the show, had a lot of racist and colorist jokes thrown in. And while Louder and Prouder has made strides to do better(not w/o hiccups) it still doesn't know what to do with the Gross Sisters

They had 2 episodes about colorism(one was really bad, but the latest one was decent)

So they probably felt it negated the message to have the Gross Sisters be darkskinned. So in this episode, Nubia, who is Gabrielle when she has lotion on, is presented as a brown but lightskinned girl

While I get they were attempting to subvert the stereotype to show she was actually lightskinned this whole time, everyone knows this stereotype is specifically geared against darkskinned Black people. My mom literally saw one clip of Proud Family years ago, saw the blue girls, and voiced how messed up that was to show in a kids cartoon

There's also the texturism and xenophobia(Nubia's family are Jamaican) of it all too

For me I think that unconsciously (when I was little) Nubia was black skinned, she couldn't be anything else, that's not what made me have a crush on her as a child, but when I saw the rest and I saw that she wasn't even a little bit of my skin color I felt my little girl's heart broken for a reason that I still don't know 😅

Or maybe I thought I had the impression that they didn't want to show too many dark-skinned girls in their emotions 🤔

Childhood crush that came back to mind

People, I just re-discovered a series that I only saw 1 time when I was a child and that marked a small part of my mind.

What has known the series there proud family knows, or these memories, Gross sisters, these girls steal everyone's money whether it is a girl, a boy, people in their class, children smaller and weaker than them and even people with whom they get along well at times. Once they even told a duck to give them everything he had 🤣🤣 ( At least they don't discriminate 😂 )

But I had completely forgotten about the crush I had on Nubia, the only sister who speaks and the leader of the group.

yes it's not very beautiful but it came out in 2001, I was little and I had special tastes so be indulgent.

Is the idea of writing and doubling a story about the greatest and most powerful villain in this universe I am of course able to Starlight Glimmer.

Let's face it, the only reason she's on the right side is because it's a children's cartoon, but Twilight herself said that she wasn't powerful enough to stop her in terms of magical power and that the only way she found was to reason with her when we're still talking about the balancing element of magic.

She's intelligent, she's cunning, she knew how to use words (at one point she almost managed to get Twilight to say that she was right on one point) and she had the will to show and accept (by force if necessary) her vision of the world.

Because that's the strongest, it's its ideology, as a child I agreed with it and I didn't yet know the concept of communism 🤣. In a world where everyone is equal, no one makes fun of you because you are different, weaker or because you have a disability (I am mainly talking about the little Scootaloo that I love and that has a bad formation in the wings that means that it will never fly naturally. I loved her so much when I was a little girl, it was me if I was in the show to follow Dash everywhere she goes 🤣 ), everyone would work for the common good so rich ponies could no longer land and offer to family businesses to buy back their products to sell in their stores and to be able to get money on it.

Because yes, when you don't have enough money and problems come one after the other, it's as if someone had cast a spell on you and you're on the verge of losing the family farm, you take the money and power-hungry man and you grit your teeth.

But hey, I've grown up and even if her message is good, the way she makes others adhere to it, way of thinking, is not good at all.

Tell me that I'm not the only one who thinks that she would have succeeded in removing Celestia and Luna and that she would have beaten Twilight and her friends as if it were nothing.

No yeah I figured that too! I mentally put her at mid-thirties also cause she's, like, a professional athlete, and generally there's a time limit on that sorta thing. She's just so good this movieeeeeeeee uggggggggh

I had forgotten that she has lower back pain, that she wears grandmother's glasses, and that Mane tells her that he is surprised to see her use her phone other than as a flashlight. (35 years old is not that old, he exaggerates. ) but fortunately our grandmother is still in good shape (well except at the end of the film I think it's over for her).

I'm going to do more posts about Jett but before there is something that itches me on a character in the movie

I see that you LOVE Modo, And I understand..... He's incredible, I hadn't even seen that his claws were varnished with glitter 🤣 👌

But there is something, maybe I ask myself too many questions, that makes me wonder, isn't our eccentric dragon a rich man's child?

Let's talk about his egg to start, doesn't this stuff remind you of other eggs?

Fabergé's eggs, it's stuff, are worth about 20 million dollars, one of them was bought for 26 million, And you're going to tell me that Modo has this kind of egg on him 24 hours a day? Where does it come from? A legacy? Did he buy it himself?

No really, This pretty blue egg is worth enough to bet against the contra of a superstar team that has been playing a card game for 15 years.

Which brings me to my second question, how did Modo get into a card game with these people? For me Jett was the richest on the team, she should have contacts but she didn't call to try to buy the team? It's the first thing I'll do personally but it looks like she doesn't have it. But Modo was able to contact them without hanging up on the snout and he was able to meet them and play with them as if it was normal. How did he know that the one who bought the team would be there? Was he the one who contacted them? How come he's his number?

In short, for me, Modo has a heritage and he used it to save the Thorns, which makes him the richest, most eccentric and with the biggest heart, the most adorable child of all time

You know what I love most at my dear Jett? It's that she's what I imagined when I watched the trailer and at the same time she doesn't completely have it.

The first time I saw her, I told myself that we were going to have a fierce champion, a bit self-centered who doesn't want to change.

And in the end we got it...... But I didn't expect her to be a princess who sleeps in a pijama and silk sheets and makes face masks and tries to get pity from her partners when they don't invite her to play with them 😭

Serious who makes all this drama because she doesn't want to say 1 word for a promotional post and decides to leave the set because no one is on her side 🤣? It was as if the popular girl had been asked to apologize. Jett Filmore, you're the biggest drama queen I've seen since the beginning of the year and I don't think we can do better than you and I love it
