It may be better to turn anon off, as black person i appreciate the apology but i feel like keeping anon on is just a breeding ground for more people arguing at you for why the poll should have continued or why you’re the victim here. You’ve said your piece and apologized, the discussion doesn’t need much more.

It was definitely bad faith of you to state from the beginning that you intended to create discourse and pandemonium with your poll and then include documentary. People are saying you cannot have predicted the backlash, but your tone when this whole thing started makes it clear that you wanted there to be backlash.

I was wanting to create discourse when I made it, I admit that. I was expecting it to be people fighting over which ship was better or some nonsense like that. I never meant for it to be what it became and I should have had the foresight to have known what would have eventually happened.

I am sorry for what has happened, I shouldn't make excuses for what I have done, that poll was a mistake and I should have not included documentaries about real people in a silly tournament. What I did was racist and hateful. I have ended the poll early and will not start a new tournament. If I have hurt anyone, I am sorry.

hey as a black queer person i appreciate you stepping in and cutting it short. sucks that people couldn't just vote for their fav without being racist about it, this was otherwise a very fun tournament to follow

I shouldn't have made that poll in the first place and I shouldn't have compared documentaries and fictional media in the same poll, it treats the people who are in the documentaries experiences as nothing more than entertainment and that was wrong of me

At this point I feel like it's best to delete the poll. Not because of discourse but because this is racist, it is not discourse it's just more fuel for white people to act as though it's funny to be racist.
