Divination Drinks: Teas to Aid in Divining
Divination in all of its forms (tarot reading, tasseomancy; palmistry; pendulums, etc,.), can be quite exhausting and require large amounts of energy. These teas and tea blends will aid you in divining by enhancing your psychic power, and/or boosting your energy.
Tea Blends:
Psychic Tea (Scott Cunningham)
3 parts Rose Petals
1 part Cinnamon
2 parts Yarrow
Brew the tea, strain it and drink a cup before performing any form of divination as this tea enhances psychic awareness.
Tea for Divination (Moura)
1 tbsp China black tea
2 tbsp Lemon Balm
1 tbsp Rose Hips
1 tbsp Mugwort*
Brew the tea, strain it and drink either before divination or sip during/throughout.
Teas:
Jasmine Tea
Jasmine is said to induce prophetic dreams, which can aid in the growth of psychic power and psychic awareness making this tea a good choice of drink to be had before divining.
Drink 1 cup of this naturally sweet and fragrant tea before sleeping the night before you wish to divine.
Vanilla Tea
You can brew your own or buy ready-made Vanilla tea/tea bags. Vanilla enhances psychic ability and allows the benefits of this enhancement to be better felt and absorbed.
Drink Vanilla tea before and during any divination work to open yourself up and be more receptive.
Peppermint Tea
Peppermint tea heightens your psychic sensitivity, as well as working to clear the mind and sharpen focus. It can also be used to cleanse the mind and body of any negative energies beforehand.
This tea should be consumed before any psychic or divination based activities.
Some Other Things to Consider:
Some herbal tea blends may not be to your taste but this can be remedied by adding honey to taste.
Other herbs, such as Cinnamon, are used to add oomph to magick and can be added to tea blends and teas to do just that. If you don’t want to add pre-ground and grainy Cinnamon to your drinks, you can use a Cinnamon stick to stir instead. This will add the oomph you’re after without altering the taste too much.
If you want to make your brew even more potent, stir clockwise. This adds positive energy to your tea.

Bottle Hex: Have A Terrible Day
SOURCE: Allura Hightower
INGREDIENTS:
Small Bottle/Jar (an empty pill bottle is ideal) 1 Black Candle 1 Small Slip Of Paper Black Pepper Saliva
INSTRUCTIONS:
Write your target’s full name on the slip of paper, and place it in your bottle or jar.
Pour a teaspoon of black pepper into the bottle, and spit a good amount of saliva in on top.
Close the bottle and shake the mixture together, thinking about why your target deserves to be hexed. Picture the kind of bad day you want them to have, in as much detail as possible. Open the bottle and whisper a quick “fuck you” in, before sealing the top closed with black wax.
This spell is best performed a few moments past midnight, so as to affect your target’s whole day from the very beginning.
NOTES:
This simple hex is designed to be short-lived – for when someone just deserves to have a terrible day. What makes their day a terrible one is up to you and your imagination.
The components of this hex are very easy to come by, and require very little effort on your part to put together.
This hex only has two ‘active’ ingredients: black pepper banishes evil and negativity, and saliva is widely seen as a display of disgust and contempt (and as such, is always useful in hexing and cursing).

Witch Tip🔮
Keep a magickal log/journal.
When you cast spells, sigils, enchantments or really any magickal workings, write down specific details about the magick, such as the place, time, moon phase, day of the week, and any herbs/crystals used.
If the spell did not work as you intended, go over the log on a later date and look to see what might have went wrong.
Use this information to perfect your future magickal workings.

hi! in your faq you say it's important to be able to distinguish good resources from bad ones when researching witchcraft, i was wondering if you could elaborate on this? i want to learn about witchcraft but i have no idea where to start reading
Hiya, friend! This is a really great question! The more you read and research, the easier it’ll be to distinguish a decent source from a not-so-good source. Here are some tips on how to determine if a source on witchcraft is worth your time:
Step 1: Research the author
There are certain authors that are known for being historically inaccurate, racist, or otherwise unhelpful/bad. Before buying or reading a book, google the author and see what pops up. If someone has a bunch of negative reviews, you might want to steer clear from that source.
Step 2: Research the source
Sometimes, good authors can produce bad work. If you’re reading a book from a commonly recommended author, check out the book’s Goodreads page or see what other members of the witchcraft community are saying about it.
Step 3: Cross-reference sources
If, when reading a book, you see something mentioned that you haven’t heard before or seems fishy, see if you can find another source that either agrees or disagrees with whatever was stated. If a book makes claims that you can’t find stated anywhere else, or if the other sources that also state it seem equally bad, the rest of the material might be suspect.
Step 4: Read as if you’re a skeptic
Skepticism is important in witchcraft! It’s important to never blindly accept everything that you read. Just because something is stated in an authoritative tone doesn’t make it true. So, when reading, pretend that you don’t believe in witchcraft. I’ve had genuine skeptics attend my classes at work say “you know, I don’t believe in this stuff, but I can understand the logic behind why someone might believe in it.” If you read something and think that it sounds silly, impossible, or otherwise wrong, trust your gut. If you can’t understand how someone came to a particular conclusion, it’s probably lacking something.
Overall, it’s important to remember that no book on witchcraft or magic is 100% perfect, even if it’s hailed by the community as one of the “best” books. So, don’t be afraid to read broadly, even if the community says the book has a couple minor things wrong with it. When you’re just starting out, it’s totally fine to read whatever’s available to you and make notes on what stands out to you. If certain things ring true, see if other sources state similar things. Learning a good source from a bad source takes time and experience; once you’ve read a few not-so-good books, you’ll be able to spot them from a mile away.
