Today's the fourth of July / Another June has gone by / And when they light up our town I just think / What a waste of gunpowder
and sky
So y'all know, I'm posting again even though I've all but abandoned this blog, because being silent is bad. I can't and won't promise to be active after this, if there's an after.
I'm trying to keep my blog solely focused on what's happening right now: highlighting injustice and police brutality against black people, highlighting crimes by police against protesters (especially black protesters), sharing other instances of injustice and signs of fascism in this country and others, and sharing resources. I will be doing this as much as I can, for as long as I can.
Blogging of unrelated things is going into locked sideblogs, as this is my main and the only one of my blogs which has any appreciable following.
I'm bad at tagging, because my mental health is in the toilet, but if there are tags I should be using to avoid triggering people -- again, particularly black people, for whom seeing images of violence against them so much can be extremely harmful -- let me know, and I will do so to the best of my ability. I will also remove disinformation if it is pointed out to me, though I am doing my best to avoid sharing anything that isn't verified.
Block me right now if you have even the slightest urge to speak against BLM or if you have a boot-licking problem. Fuck every single cop, support every single black person struggling to breathe or to have their voice heard.
I will not be making more of my own posts or commenting on what I reblog, because this isn't the time for my voice. This has been a PSA.
One of my only friends on tumblr quit speaking to me without explanation, and I have other ways to contact the few other friends I have, so I have no real reason to stay when 99% of my dashboard is either ableism or arguing about voting. I wanted to stay to boost important things, but my mental health is fucking me as usual so I haven't even been able to do that. Who's gonna miss me anyway?
funny how all of you are silent when it comes to the ethnical cleansing of the last remaining jewish community in yemen. not a singular post about this appeared on my dash. yemenite jews are being arrested, forced to sell their homes and their property. they are the main target of hate crimes. they've been treated so poorly by the houthi leaders and no one but jewish people are speaking up about this.
here are some links to educate yourselves:
Houtis Arrest Yemenite Jews
Houthis round up Yemen's Jews as part of 'ethnic cleansing' efforts
Reports of Houthi rebels imprisoning Yemeni Jews must be investigated as antisemitism
don't call yourself a human rights activist if you exclude jews out of the narrative.
Hell, I'm Jewish and had no idea. Isn't this exactly the way these atrocities get overlooked, hiding behind the major shit that's currently slushing around in the world? Let's make a noise and reblog the crap out of this. Write to our MPs and demand they take action? Something, anything. Once we know about ethnic cleansing/genocidal sanctions, we got to holler or become complicit.
2018 marked the ten-year anniversary of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. Fans together coined the term “Twilight Renaissance” to celebrate t
Another journal from my wix! This is focusing on the racialized sexism directed toward emily young and leah clearwater in twilight! My first of 3 twilight journals i wanna do!
“Indigenous bloggers have spoken out against sexism and racism within Twilight and are nearly always silenced and this says a lot about the racism within the Twilight fandom. When the sexism white characters and white fans face is taken seriously where as, the sexism the indigenous characters and fans face is ignored, that is an issue of fandom racism.“
A great article! Thank you for mentioning me in it and tagging this blog. It’s a great read.
Report from Atlanta IWOC on recent uprising at Ware State Prison in Georgia.
A slave rebellion, aka prison revolt, took place at Ware State Prison, located in South Georgia, on the night of August 1st 2020, starting at roughly 10 PM. A guard was tied up, two other guards were stabbed, windows broken, and a golf cart and different sections of the prison were set ablaze.
Three prisoners were also shot during the uprising by Ware County police. One had been shot in the thigh and another in the arm. “We are tired of this shit, FUCK 12!” In a video released online, incarcerated folks can be seen helping those inside who were shot by wrapping and elevating the wounds, bringing them ice, and carrying the injured to get more medical care.
Throughout this pandemic, people incarcerated at Ware State Prison have experienced extreme medical neglect since the outbreak began, where even those with the most severe coronavirus symptoms, such as troubled breathing, have been denied medical treatment.
Beyond the pandemic, other conditions inside the prison are just as bad. Inmates have only been getting two sandwiches a day, no hot meals, and little to no showers. Unsurprisingly, Ware’s phone line continues to ring unanswered as media and concerned family members of those inside have been flooding them with calls.
We may not see a national prison strike this year but perhaps the necessary actions have evolved. This might be the dire direction that other people enslaved within US jails, prisons, and detention centers will take from now on. Prison-led revolts and slave rebellions are imminent as slavery persists.
leftist antisemites are really everywhere on this hellsite making & reblogging their posts like “the Jews have too much power and privilege and actually their very recent genocide was not that bad compared to what my group experiences and antisemitism doesn’t even exist in my country and especially not in liberal spaces”
Goyim should reblog posts like this one instead of always only acknowledging antisemitism when it is about jk rowling’s goblins or easy shit like that.
Challenge the antisemitism that is coming from inside the house. Be a little brave. Because you will lose followers for reblogging a post like this, because there are antisemites following you that think this way, and assume you do too.
I don’t think non blacks actually realize how much my blackness affects my views on politics and everything I say about politics. That’s why y’all need to stick to arguing and shaming each other because y’all can’t even begin to understand where I’m coming from.
Democrats fuck over all marginalized people but they’re especially skilled fucking over black people and hiding it under the guise of being progressive and they do it so well that it’s pretty much impossible for y’all to even fully grasp the harm they have caused to us. Not only can y’all not fully grasp it, but they have tricked y’all into silencing any of us that try to talk about it for them. So stay in your fucking lane and stop veering into mine.
Every single Native culture is distinct and unique, though many share similarities, and lumping them together is ridiculous. And while some practices are pan-Indian, the vast majority are not.
hey what if we all just… donated the cost of midnight sun to the quileute tribe on august 4th
wouldn’t that be so sexy of us
like it’s one thing to donate during the pre-order period but if we all donated the exact cost of the book ON RELEASE DAY it would be such a nice fuck you to the Khaki Fetishist and gives her absolutely $0
SO… LET’S GET THIS CIRCULATING
here’s my idea: for everyone who is able to donate $28 USD to move to higher ground on august 4, 2020!!!
mthg is a quileute effort to move tribal facilities and housing from the tsunami zone; they recently started construction on a new school to open in 2022!
(my $28 estimate is based off of the original price on am*zon)
alright here comes a new proposition for u.s. renaissance bloggers:
dm me a receipt of your donation OF ANY AMOUNT for a chance to win custom merch!
if your donation is between $0-9.99, you’ll be entered to win a custom decal sticker
if your donation is between $10-27.99, you’ll be entered to win a customized tote bag
if your donation is at or above the $28 amount, you’ll be entered to win a customized shirt, tote bag, AND decal sticker
i have the ability to make vinyl and iron-on decals and can make you your heart’s desire. you want a shirt that says “rail me vampire daddy?” i can do that. want a reusable shopping bag that says “the bitch you know as sparkles is back” in glittery letters? you got it. here’s a few examples as my work! (1) (2) (3)
your last chance to dm me is august 8, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST.
i’m extending it beyond the fourth because i know money is tight for a lot of people right now so if you’re donating any time in the week before or after the release, i’ll count it. obviously i want to make a statement on august 4th, but payday falls in different places for everyone, and sometimes unemployment checks are funky too.
sorry to limit it to the u.s. but shipping costs are a bitch
You may have heard of what happened in Lebanon today and if not, basically, there was a big explosion in Beirut that affected many cities, destroyed shops, homes, cars, caused many injuries and deaths. The cause is uncertain.
As a fellow lebanese myself (that also lives there), today was absolutely terrifying, probably the scariest moments of my life. We heard a deafening sound as the floors were shaking. Some of us thought it was an attack, others thought it was an earthquake. As soon as it ended many expected a second one, which luckily never happened.
Here's a video of what happened that was sent to me, there are also many others that you can find online.
Windows were broken, doors wrecked, cars flipped over, buildings collapsed, people hit by flying or falling objects, and unfortunately, many didn't make it out alive.
We were one of the lucky ones, our families and friends were all safe and our homes were fine.
Some people couldn't even get out of the crumbling builings, so we saw corpses being pulled out, although some people survived the crash. But wherever we looked, there was blood, poeple were half covered in it, their shirts, pants, hair, everything. And that sight was traumatizing.
We watched the news with elders severely injured, children with blood-spattered shirts and people in pain that couldn't get in the hospitals because they were full.
Some people are missing. Just try to imagine the pain and fear their families and friends are feeling.
Articles about what happened, there are a lot more
Officials expect death toll to rise after huge blast rips through Lebanon's capital.
The explosion took place at the port shortly before 19:00 local time (18:00 CET) with a large cloud of smoke billowing over the city. Eyewit
Not only are we in the middle of a pandemic, but Lebanon is also going through a very serious economical crisis. To give you an example, before, $1 equaled 1 500 lebanese pounds. Nowadays, $1 equals more than 7 000 lebanese pounds. Not to mention that we obviously don't have any dollars at disposition, so yeah we're fucked.
People are hungry, homeless, unemployed. And even if they are getting paid, it'll be useless since the prices of everything went up because they were affected by the economical fiasco.
Important additional information
Today, I heard my 7 year old cousins scream in fear that they were going to die. I saw my aunt shaking, worried that her children won't survive. I saw my dad freak out while trying to reassure us when we both knew that we were uncertain about the next minutes of our lives. I heard the panic in the trembling voices of my family and friends as they couldn't believe what had just happened. I thought my loved ones and I were going to die in the next seconds.
I'm never forgetting those moments and feelings.
I don't think signing petitions will help, i don't even know if the following links will help either, I just know Lebanon and it's people are desperate for anything because the future of this country is extremely uncertain.

How can you help?

Lebanon Needs You More Than Ever. Know more about the crisis in Lebanon, sign petitions, donate or explore volunteering opportunities.
Help families, domestic workers, and refugees in Lebanon with food and other basic needs during this economic and public health crisis
I think donating to the red cross would be the most helpful, so if you are considering it, it'd be great.
There are so many great threads on twitter about what you can do to help, just search help lebanon or something to find them. Also if you can, please donate, and as I said, the lebanese pound is pretty much worthless currently so USD is way more useful to us.
ZIMBABWE NEEDS YOUR HELP (please read and signal boost!) there is little to no coverage on this crisis worldwide. Rally for it just like you have for Black Lives Matter in the US, Yemen, Australian bushfires etc.
a massive explosion just rocked the capital city of lebanon, beirut. footage of the explosion has been captured, and it is horrific and terrifying. dozens and maybe even hundreds of people have been injured and the reports have confirmed at least 10 people dead. reports are still coming in.
hospitals are overwhelmed. the lebanese red cross has sent out an urgent message in need of blood donations of all blood types. open transfusion centers to help aid in this disaster are currently

if you have loved ones in lebanon or you are aware of someone who has loved ones in lebanon, i strongly urge you to reach out to them as soon as possible. if you don’t have loved ones in lebanon, i hope you at least spread the word to help others and keep beirut in your thoughts today.
this all started just barely two hours ago, and the reports are still coming in with updates. keep an eye on the news, if you can. stay safe.
the country of lebanon and it’s people have been struggling intensely recently due to political unrest, famine, covid-19, and an economic crisis. please read this twitter thread by a lebanese user for more information and how to help, along with this carrd
additionally, a carrd has been made concerning the beirut explosion and it consists of information on emergency relief, access to breaking news about the catastrophe, and, especially, information on blood donations.
multiple lebanese twitter users have urged against monetary donations as they will have a far far smaller impact than intended. what they are asking for is blood donations and raised voices, along with the sharing of these resources on current events in lebanon.
please keep your heart, mind, eyes, and ears open to lebanon, the city of beirut, and its people right now.
So, how has this pandemic been a unique hell for disabled people? Let’s see..
“DON’T WORRY, IT’S ONLY PEOPLE W/ UNDERLYING CONDITIONS WHO ARE DYING!”
“SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!”
“NATURAL SELECTION!”
“IMMUNE-COMPROMISED/CHRONICALLY ILL PEOPLE SHOULD JUST SELF-QUARANTINE INDEFINITELY WHILE THE REST OF US LIVE OUR LIVES!”
OR THE FACT THAT WHEN ABLE-BODIED PEOPLE HAVE TO STAY HOME, IT’S “OMG SOOO HARD” BUT WHEN DISABLED PEOPLE HAVE TO IT’S “OMG UR SOOO LUCKY I WISH I WAS IN BED TOO LOL”
OR THE FACT THAT SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES WAIVED MEDICAL BILLS FOR COVID-19 CARE, BUT NOT MEDICAL BILLS FOR ROUTINE CARE FOR CHRONICALLY ILL PEOPLE
OR THE FACT THAT LUPUS & RA PATIENTS WHO RELY ON HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE FOR EVERYDAY LIFE & SURVIVAL WERE SUDDENLY NOT ABLE TO GET THEIR PRESCRIPTIONS FILLED BECAUSE “OTHER PEOPLE NEED THESE PILLS MORE” (FOR OFF-LABEL USE W/ UNPROVEN—& THEN DISPROVEN—EFFICACY)
OR THE FACT THAT DISABLED PEOPLE IN THE UK—INCLUDING MINORS—RECEIVED LETTERS URGING THEM TO SIGN DNR (DO NOT RESUSCITATE) FORMS SO THAT THEY WOULDN’T USE UP RESOURCES IF THEY HAD A HEALTH EMERGENCY
OR THE FACT THAT COVID-19 PATIENTS IN THE US CAN BE DENIED CARE BASED ON PERCEIVED QUALITY OF LIFE & FUTURE NEED OF RESOURCES (GOING BEYOND SURVIVABILITY-INFORMED TRIAGE & ENTERING THE REALM OF CAPITALISM-INFORMED EUGENICS)
OR, OR, OR. THE LIST GOES ON, & IS ONLY GETTING LONGER.
The past several months have been riddled w/ an amplification of the messages that disabled people are already used to; claims that we are less useful, less valuable, & less human than able-bodied people.
&, that our struggles only matter when they are suddenly shared by the majority…& even then, they still don’t matter as much.
Let’s add in the “$1200 isn’t enough! How can you expect someone to live on that?” when the current maximum a disabled person can receive on SSI is less than $800/month.
Look, I absolutely want people to have their needs met, but I feel a LITTLE prickly about it when they didn’t care that disabled people have been talking about how fucked up this is for years.
