the issue with growing up in the 2000s and 2010s was like there was this really big push toward "accepting your weirdness" overall but they meant like idk wearing mismatched socks or something not being tangibly beyond the norm in any way shape or form

Finished another scene of Who Holds the Power's next chapter today, so now there's just one more to go until I can post an update. Progress! 🥳

All they cared about was moving their body, oblivious to the way their wild movements were taking them across the room through the crowd. Only when it was too late did they realize how far they'd gotten from where they'd started. As they swung into the next move of their dance, they felt their hip hit the edge of a small table a little too hard. The table gave way before they could correct their blunder. The record scratched. The music cut off abruptly. Next came a sickening crash as the record player hit the floor.

very slowly working on this drabble!

Mobius looked down at his trembling hands, as he waited for the kettle to boil.

He was the one who was weak. He had left his friends to god-knows-what, to save his own skin.

No.

To save Loki's.

Just as Loki had more than once saved his.

Had saved everyone's.

A loud whistle startled Mobius from his thoughts. He scrubbed at his wet face and lifted the pot, just as a pair of arms wrapped snugly around his middle.

"I can hear you overthinking from the next room," Loki murmured, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

WIP Wednesday

Is it Wednesday again? I have more Project Hail Mary Stratt watching the tapes Grace sent back

"Would you like to go on a space walk, Dr. Grace?" the cool voice of the ship asked as the video began. Stratt was pretty sure a few minutes had been excluded between the previous video and this one but she was willing to follow along. Eventually Grace was bound to show why he needed to go on a space walk or what the blip that had been found was. Maybe it was part of the solution to the astrophage problem. Grace struggled to get into the space suit, wriggling his way into the layers. He spun around the ship several times, knocking into things and occasionally falling back out of the suit. For a person named Grace, he was maybe the least graceful person Stratt had ever seen. He'd been clumsy on Earth too though, where he accustomed to the gravity, so it shouldn't have been a surprise. As she watched him struggle on the screen, the words he'd said so long ago came back to her. "I am not an astronaut. I put the "not" in astronaut." He certainly did. And he was reminding her once again.

“How do you know it’s a mating display rather than something else?” he asks as he fiddles with the binoculars. “Territorial behaviour? Or just… playing. Do dinosaurs play?” “They absolutely do,” Alex answers, his attention never wavering from the animals. “I mean, a good chunk of the time ‘playing’ is just learning to hunt, fight, or mate. So it’s kinda all the same, anyway. But to answer your first question, I don’t know for sure. I think it’s related to mating because when they do this, they’re usually not aggressive about it. You’re missing the best part, by the way,” he adds, a trace of annoyance in his voice that Henry can’t help but smile at. Obediently, Henry leans back in and watches as one of the Gallimimus spreads its wings—and they are most definitely wings, even though this species isn’t flying anywhere—and begins to waggle them around a bit. “Truly magnificent,” Henry comments dryly, laughing when Alex’s sharp elbow digs into his side. “You’re the worst,” Alex complains as he finally pulls his face away from the camera to glare at him.
