i LOVEEE sapnap in his big brother arc around drista, and the few times he snaps out of it is to make fun of george with her. he’s fr trying to help her and makes sacrifices so that she gets a better experience??? 

and also how george treats drista like any other friend he has, but just slightly nicer. like he teases her, but he’s literally like: “oh SUREEE why don’t i just give you everything then😐😐😐 you actually need to do it yourself omg😐😐” and proceeds to spawn in anything she wants lmaoo

and how bad doesn’t feel guilty for teasing her. like as quackity has done before, he is like “wow bad, i wouldn’t have expected this from you” and bad just cracks and apologises, but bad is actually comfortable to joke around with her, even after she calls him out, which i love

this just once again proves dnf need to work on their communication skills smh george clearly wanted him there to go through the clips with him and hang out together and dream clearly wanted him to want him there and got bitter when that wasn't conveyed properly, obviously this wasn't that bad and they had fun in the end but i feel like communication is always their downfall

yeah, it does seem that way... it’s kinda like there’s this gap they haven’t managed to fix where dream needs validation and thinks it should be obvious, and george not really even thinking about that stuff and therefore not realizing it when dream might get upset by something. they both need to be more honest and straightforward with stuff i guess? learn each other’s motivations on stuff like this and work around them. dream should make it explicitly clear if he feels left out or whatever, and george should learn to recognize the kinds of things that make him feel that way (which he can’t do if dream never tells him tho). but this is just speculation ofc

you make a good point there, he did bully george at first in the cooking stream too, and stayed weirdly distant for a while. but i guess after watching george’s cute cooking it healed his wounds and softened his heart and he no longer cared about not getting cordially invited and got really sweet with him

i suppose if he were to see them very intensely as a package deal in his head, the disconnection of george not inviting him to important streams would feel extra bad. like george doesn’t feel the same, or something. when it’s really just a misunderstanding they should talk through

yep, i’m very aware he was! but that didn’t seem at all like a planned appearance, and he also didn’t join even after he left it. i guess there’s a chance it was planned, but it sure seemed like it wasn’t. it also feels a lot like the kinda thing you might do if you were salty and trying to pretend you don’t give a shit, to just join a different stream instead and pretend you’re busy. v conveniently like 5 minutes before george’s stream was planned to start, too. this is all with ship goggles on i mean, could be dream wasn’t even thinking anything much with anything

i think dream perceives himself more important(?) to george than his other friends, and he wants george to really show that. maybe george actually does, and we’ve just seen the circumstances in which he doesn’t.

(going on a slight tangent here) i think dream is just so used to (and loves) george treating him in a ‘you’re the most important to me’ way. and you can really see that he loves it because he’s constantly boasting about it. but like what i mean by how george treats him is that he is frequently in a call with dream for 10+ hours, will leave other calls to speak to dream, sleeps in call with him, and usually they both discuss together whether they should stream, (and as we speculated), muted and turned his camera off mid-stream just to speak to dream. 

and as you said about how it could be loads of things piling up, i totally agree. i mean, it must be difficult for dream seeing george, one of his closest friends and who he considers a platonic soulmate, meeting up with wilbur and tommy, who dream knows aren’t as significant in george’s life than himself. 

and then seeing george go live twice with quackity, who we all know dream gets jealous of (personally i think its because george and quackity have such a good friendship, and dream knows quackity is funny asf, and has said something about him being one of the funniest people he’s spoken to, maybe he’s afraid george is going to ditch him for quackity). and the fact that george and quackity read fanfics together, like i see why dream may see it as ‘their’ thing. dream has said before that they read fanfics together, like even smut. i can picture dream being like ‘why are they even reading fanfics together😡😡 no one cares about qnf😡😡😡😡everyone only cares about me and george😡😡😡 if anything, me and george should be reading them together😡😡😡’. 

and as i’ve said previously, dream and george usually ask eachother if they should go live. i get how it may’ve been weird for dream, just scrolling through twitter, and george has a time for his next big stream, and hasn’t informed him. 

so yeah, overall i think his saltiness has originated from his expectations conflicting with reality, and jealousy of quackity/tommy/wilbur

My question is, how do platonic soulmates have sus moments  if it is all truly platonic? Yes it is true d + g have a deep affection for each other, we know that obviously , and that can be strictly platonic. But the getting flustered?  Having moments that have genuine tension? Getting off put by the baity jokes ?  Doing things like whispering dnf is real when you thought the viewers couldn’t hear and adding “DreamNotFound <3” to Minecraft? Yeah… okay.You can say that they are just so close to the point where they can make jokes about that and it not mean anything….. but it is clearly does? Because that is what makes the moment “sus.” Not the inappropriate or outrageous joke. It’s the way their voices get all soft and suggestive, like they are daring each other to react. It’s the way they get flustered by being silent or giggling in a breathless way. 

I feel like right now d and g are both thinking “what if?” What if we cross the waters by flirty with each other relentlessly?  What if our feelings are more deep than just some deep platonic bond? What if we continue this baity act as a way to disguise our growing affection?

Without a doubt, the turning point of all this when be when George finally moves to Florida. Being a whole ocean away, they can stay in this limbo of “what if?” for as long as they want tbh, but being in person, I find it impossible to see them continuing up the act, maybe to their audience but definitely not to each other( and also dream is so obvious so we would probably no). I think then the question would be “what now?”

@sheepwasfound brought up a thought that stuck with me. It was if george moving in will be the complex or the conclusion. the brainrot goggles are hard to take off, but when people who have no knowledge of mcyt see their flirting and all their friends know like a group of teenage boys know their friend has a crush…. it speaks for itself I think

i really agree with this, and i definitely think george moving to florida will have a domino effect on a lot of things

genuine tension can be swept aside when online, but the second it becomes irl that will be VERY difficult to ignore. and dream thinks him and george won’t be any different irl, so he’s assuming all this dnf stuff will still be huge?? and still be constantly flirting with eachother??

we know george blushes and does get flustered to what dream says online but i really pity him for every irl interaction, like it’s not something he can hide, or can be toned down due to cameras. it’s going to be there, out in the open, for them both to see. and dream says he blushes a lot,, god i cant even imagine what a flustered mess they’ll both be around eachother

but back to the point, i think if anything were to happen when george moves it’d be 1) him and dream realise that they’re is something between them, and they figure that out, or just not speak about it, idk. or 2) that they both see eachother be flustered and blushing at every suggestive comment that they both get so scared, in a way of it all, and dealing with everything irl will be much more overwhelming, that they just stop all the comments altogether.

but even if the comments ever stop, we all know that the smaller things that show they’re love for eachother (their voice changing when around eachother, all their friends knowing that they have a dynamic that no other friendship has, them managing to make anyone their with the 3rd wheel, spending almost all the time they have in the day together) will never stop.

if dream and george ever were to have feelings for eachother it’ll either be like

1. mainly dream but also george would be like ‘no haha of course i don’t have feelings for him!! you just... get like that around a close friend right? this is totally platonic, why would i ever have feelings for him? this is just platonic feelings, everyone feels like this around a best friend’ and it’d take MONTHS of their friends convincing that you don’t get butterflies and your heart doesn’t drop around a ‘close friend’

2. they’d flirt with eachother and slowly push the boundaries until they’re confused where eachother stand to the other, and then i bet every so often george would ‘realise’ what’s happening and go m.i.a. for like a few days until dream asks if he’s okay and comforts him and then he falls even harder again. then the cycle would start again and they’d both start to realise that they are in love with eachother but neither says it because 1. they’re not 100% sure it’s mutual and 2. george wouldn’t want to talk about it, and dream knows that.
