“I know, but I want to.” Certainly, Rin would never allow the misjudgment of believing Chiyo incapable of fending for herself; she was strong and smart and every other quality which had lead to the development of his childhood crush. In his mind, though, there’s a difference between helping out of a sense of requirement or a sense of care. He falls squarely on the latter, a fact he hopes she’s aware of. Using the towel to gently catch a few remaining raindrops clinging to her cheeks, Rin attempts not to focus too closely on how he can feel her breath on his skin, or how effortless it would be for his palm to caress her face — he’s merely offering aid, none of that matters! He settles back on his heels, allowing a swift shake of his head as though me might possess the ability to physically remove such thoughts with the motion.
The brief moment of respite does provide the time for memories to rush back. “You haven’t changed much, huh?” The grin dancing along his lips grows slightly. “You used to like being in the rain when we were kids, too.”
Rin rises to his feet before offering Chiyo a hand. “Should I make you some tea? Maybe that’ll warm you up.” However, only a beat passes before his blue eyes widen. “I’ve been planning to make pumpkin oyaki, actually. Wanna help me?” He offers her a wink. “It’s easy, promise, and we can make it in like, thirty minutes max. I’ll get you one of my sweaters to wear so you don’t get cold before we can eat ‘em. What d’you think?”
he wants to. he wants to take care of her, and chiyo can’t help but think that rin hasn’t changed much, either. the differences between now and then... well, she never allowed him to care for her back then, too stubborn and careful in her self-appointed role as the “ older sister. ” she was to do the caring and the protecting -- not rin. and if chiyo is honest with herself, she isn’t sure how much of it was her desire for a younger sibling and her need to keep others at an arm’s length.
but neither of them are kids anymore, and creating distance between herself and someone who genuinely wants to be around her seems childish. what does she have to fear from rin who so carefully patted her cheeks dry? who so thoughtfully has offered her clothing and delicious oyaki?? nothing.
chiyo pulls herself up with rin’s assistance, less abashed and more excited at the prospect of food ( that they’ll cook together, no less! ) and a warm sweater to replace her soaked hoodie. “ i think you had me at ‘ oyaki, ’ though i won’t say no to borrowing one of your sweaters, ” she answers with a grin of chattering teeth. “ lead the way, rin! ”

1. How my muse acts differently around their love interest(s)
whether this is prior to dating or before, chiyo will become more likely to compromise ( “ i’m not leaving the house today okay i will not--- ” “ pls come with me to do some shopping?? ” “ i’ll be ready in 10 minutes just for you bby ” ) , more prone to getting flustered, and overall hyper-aware of the person she’s interested in. she might become slightly awkward in some situations because chiyo overthinks and has no idea how to romance?? or how to accept those feelings without first trying to ignore them. so chiyo might act a little out of character prior to dating.
however!! if she’s dating her love interest, the awkward phase will only last for a few days to a week or so before she’ll be back to normal, and once she’s comfy again, you can expect her to be teasing!! her s/o!! because man is it fun to see their cute cheeks get all red!! but you can also expect our wee bean to be fully honest if she wasn’t already -- she’ll tell them when she feels out of sorts, when her thoughts turn negative, when she’s worried about this or that. she’ll wear her heart on her sleeve only for them, trusting that they’ll be there to hold her hand. on a funnier note, chiyo won’t hesitate to be the biggest baby in the world around her s/o and whine all day when she’s sick or in pain or quite possibly just inconvenienced. she likely already revealed this side to them before dating, but it’d be shameless with her partner (゜▽゜;)

do you want chiyo to overheat from thinking too much?? then send her an anonymous love letter!! i don’t imagine she’d worry too much if she didn’t suspect anyone close to her to have written it, though. she would feel flattered and maybe touched that someone could feel strongly enough to write her a letter, but she’d only be worried and a mess if she thought a pal or someone she was interested in wrote it.
chiyo would likely try to move on as if she never received the letter just to avoid the stress of rejecting someone and pray that no one ever approached her about it.
21. How my muse would comfort their partner
i think this would vary a bit depending on who she was dating, but overall, chiyo is all about being there even if she isn’t saying anything. she’ll offer advice if she can, listen attentively while they tell her their troubles, but if talking isn’t something her partner feels up to, chiyo is still going to be right there. she’s going to hold their hand or hold them; she’s going to put their favorite show on; she’s going to cook their favorite food or pull out their favorite snacks; she’s going to do whatever she can if it means easing their pain, and in her experience, it helps a lot for someone to just be there when she needs them.
