Back in the late 60’s, an inmate of the system, having a moment of utter jubilation as the man in black comes to your home - your prison- to not just entertain you… but to help you feel free. To help you feel a slight bit of normalcy. This is Americana at its most pure. This is roots. There are those records that some bands make that are “once in a generation” kinds of records. Not saying #afi didn’t make other great albums, but there’s just something so special, dark, and also soulful about this one. As a youth, it was seminal for me in my life. Life changing. A look at my vintage 1977 Hitachi Amplifier

Someone at one point in history said that all of life up until this point in time is now dead. It’s dead. The only way of meaning comes with each breath you take. Once you exhale, it’s gone. The moment has passed. The moment died. Life is ahead of you. Only ahead of you.

And maybe hope doesn’t exist, but if anything is hope, that might be.
