“Oh my- Quinn! That’s amazing! Congratulations!”
“Thanks. I can’t wait.”
“Finally. The bastard had it coming.”
“That’s so exciting! I’m just so proud of you! All your hard work is finally paying off.”
“I keep expecting to wake up from a dream.”
“And?”
“I made the team.”
“Well, just some sounds or something would do! Merlin, this is amazing? Who’s the lucky team?”
“The Kenmare Kestrels. So I’m going back to Ireland.”
“Well…?”
“I got a letter from the Kestrels.”

“Yes,” Rory agreed as she kept packing. “So if things continue to look up then we’re golden.”
“My life has been looking up. so hopefully the trend will continue for everyone.”
I bet, what made you seal the deal?
“I was officially offered a contract.”
Escape.
“I definitely feel like I did.”
“At least you’re free now.”
“That’s the gayest thing I’ve ever heard. But good on you two.”
"I mean, I did ask my boyfriend to move with in with me. It should be pretty gay.”
“That’s still so amazing,” Kimber visibly relaxed as she looked up at her friend, grinning ear to ear. “And Hunter? Is he coming with?”
Quinn nodded slowly as a pink blush spread across his cheeks. “We’re going flat hunting after graduation.”
“You what?” Kimber’s jaw dropped, the thought of Ray moving to the back of her mind, if only for a moment. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know…Merlin!” She wrapped her arms around him once again, blinking in shock.
Quinn laughed as he returned the hug. “The only people who know are Hunter and Chase, so don’t feel bad.”
“As okay as I’m going to be,” she murmured. “Can we…I thought I could talk about this. Can we talk about something else? Please?”
“I heard back from the Kestrels. I’m in. I made the team.”
Escape.
“Me, too,” Rory said with a nod. “I’ve been here for a month and it’s just far too long.”
“I would have gone mad.”
Escape.
Rory was putting a couple of her sketchbooks in the box she was packing when Quinn spoke to her again. She looked up at him and shrugged her shoulders. “Leaving, finally,” she said. “Tired as hell, though.”
“Your body’s healing. That’s to be expected. But I’m glad you’re getting out of here.”
