Hello all! Thank you for visiting :) On August 5th, Raffy and I rescued Carter from the streets of Los Angeles. He was malnourished and unusually skinny. He's been having multiple loose stools with blood and unable to gain any weight. With many vet visits and a consultation with an internal medicine specialist, which have thus far included prescriptions to around 8 different types of medicines, 2 prescription foods, a number of probiotics, antibiotics, x-rays and even an ultrasound, we still have yet to find out what mystery illness he has. All we know is that he has an inflamed colon and fluid surrounding the vital organs. This could mean a lot of different things. In any case, it was recommended that the next step is an endoscopy and colonoscopy for Carter. Unfortunately for us and Carter, the estimate for this work is around $3,000 on the low end and upwards to $3,700 on the high end. Raffy and I are at a crossroads right now. After looking at how much we've spent so far, how much there potentially is to spend after the colonoscopy, the financials just don't work in our favor. So...WE NEED YOUR HELP. Raffy and I have some money to spend on top of the $2,000 that we've both already spent before we have to make some really difficult decisions. Unfortunately, the money that we have for him is not enough to get Carter the help he needs and might need for follow up treatment. This is where it gets tricky. The colonoscopy and the endoscopy may not be the end of his treatment. We hope that through the procedure the vets and specialists find a very simple, effective solution that is cost friendly. But we also know that the condition may be much worse, which could include surgery or even life-time treatment for disease. We promise you that all money donated will not go to Raffy and I; it will all go to the well being of Carter. And you can rest assured we're trying to find the most cost-effective vets out there. If for whatever reason we somehow manage to have excess money, we vow to donate it to animal rescue centers throughout Los Angeles in order to keep their services alive and thriving, because we know first hand that those centers are single-handedly saving pets lives day in and day out. If you could help us and Carter out in anyway, we would be forever grateful. Thank you for your time!
