“So... What are your credentials?” Was that even a question you had to ask someone whom you wanted to be your babysitter? If they took care of your kid well enough, who cared? Still, it was a way to start conversation–he'd invited Brian over after he dropped Lilly off at school, to get a better feel of how Brian would do. The display Brian gave at the drugstore had him hooked, frankly, but the responsible thing to do would be to check him out before leaving him alone with Pru's child.
He was seated on the couch, Brian directly in front of him as he twiddled his thumbs and overall gave the (truthful) impression that he didn't really care about anything they were talking about and that it was just a formality. He'd much rather be screwing Brian than pretending to care about ‘old people stuff.’ So instead he leans forward, curiosity etched onto his face, and asks, "So, did they hurt? Your tattoos, I mean."
