Through the past few weeks, quite a few things have happened in hockey. With Ryan Fischer, Tim Bozon, Matt Stajan and his son, Rich Peverley, and Terry Trafford, it’s pretty frightening. To everyone. And through all this, I never forget to thank God for protecting these boys, for keeping them safe and healthy. It’s already happen once before with an Oil King (Kristians Pelss) and it’s just devestating. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I clearly remember the state I was in when the Edmonton Journal published the confirmation of Pelssy’s passing. Crying for countless hours, asking “Why him?” It has been a major speed bump in the Oil Kings family and I seriously wouldn’t wish it on anybody. I will always remember to keep Rich’s family, the Fischers, the Bozons, Matt Stajan and his wife and the Traffords in my prayers.

Can we talk about the fact that Peverley’s heart STOPPED BEATING while he was on the bench, that it took chest compressions AND oxygen AND an iv AND ultimately an AED to get it restarted. And then he asked to go back into the game?????
