// Been debating about this, but I may put this blog on a semi-hiatus for a while, since muse has been low and I’ve been struggling with motivation. Not sure why – I really enjoy writing with all of you, and I’m excited for threads, I love the RaC series, ect, but I’ve been writing Lawrence for a little over a year and it might be that I need to take a break for a bit. Real life has gotten busier, too, so I don’t have as much time to RP as I would like. 

In the meantime, I won’t be dropping any threads (unless anyone wants to drop one, which is perfectly understandable), and will work on replies when muse returns. I’ve had a lot of fun writing with everyone this past year, and I’m sorry for the lack of activity, but I think a hiatus would be the best for me right now. 

TL;DR, I’m going to put this blog on a semi-hiatus, mechanicaluprising & qwarktastic on a full hiatus.

I’ll still be around to work on things if inspiration hits / answer IMs / ect –  but in the meantime you can find me over at larcenousxursine

A special gift basket arrived at Captain Qwark’s door right around breakfast. The entire bundle screamed Easter, consisting of neatly tied ribbons decorating the outside in intricate and cutesy patterns. A few spieces of matching colored flowers were woven into said ribbon-work as well. In short, the basket in all its prominent pink and blue glory seemed pretty much harmless to the unsuspecting moron. 

But that wasn’t all; the contents which lie inside the gift itself was what stood out the most. Several flavors of cookies, chocolates, and all things sweet and tasty lined the interior, their colors and outer designs a clear sign that someone wished to put all their love (or hatred) into making their target suffer–er, making them overflow with absolute glee.  And if things could not get any better, amidst the sea of sweets slept a small white bunny, complete with a pastel green ribbon secured around its soft and fluffy neck. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be holding a simple green envelope in its tiny mouth while it snoozed away.

Ah, overall the entire basket was definitely the most perfect gift the spandex-clad hero could receive. Not only for Easter, but for his birthday as well. It was too good to be true—way too good…

It wasn’t long after finishing breakfast that Qwark discovered the surprise waiting on his doorstep. A big grin instantly spread across his face at the sight of so much Easter joy embodied by just one gift. Not only was it touching someone had gotten him something, but they’d put a truly impressive amount of effort and detail into the elaborate decorations. He wondered who the fan or secret admirer was. Hmm, there didn’t seem to be a gift tag. Oh well, that just bestowed a nice sense of mystery he could appreciate!

Whistling cheerfully, Qwark brought the basket inside, placing it on the table before opening it. This just got better and better! Good thing he saved room for dessert. Sure, it was still early morning but who cared?

“D’aww, aren’t you adorable?” the Captain said once he’d caught sight of the fluffy bunny. He didn’t want to wake it up just yet however, so he resisted the temptation to pet it and left the envelope alone. Choosing one of the many types of irresistibly delicious looking sweets, he popped one into his mouth. He chewed thoughtfully for a moment before --

“RRAAAAGGHHH!” With his eyes watering and tongue on fire, he made a mad dash for the kitchen sink. Wasting no time grabbing a cup, Qwark turned the faucet on and stuck his head underneath.

After a few minutes of gulping down water and fanning his mouth, he returned to the basket again, eyeing it cautiously this time. But it just sat there looking innocent. Maybe he should’ve been a bit more suspicious -- Easter fell on his birthday this year, which also happened to be April Fools Day...

Ah hah! The envelope would reveal whether or not this was some kind of mean prank! Qwark reached for it -- but all of his previous yelling had woken up the bunny, who uhhh was giving him a reeaally nasty look for some reason. Suddenly, it launched itself at his head like an enraged fluffy canon ball.

“AAAGGHHHH! HELP! Killer bunny attacking!”

ALL HAIL QWARK AND HIS MARVELOUSLY (and certainly NOT extremely hideous) SPANDEX-CLAD POSTERIOR! WHAT A SPECIAL DAY THIS IS, WOO!

“Why thank you, overly enthusiastic citizen! In case you’re wondering, my secret for an impressively sculpted backside is a killer glute and hamstring workout!”

So was your birth itself a joke or something? Hence why it takes place on this day?

“Heey, way to be a killjoy. My birth was definitely not a joke! I’ll have you know it was the most significant day of my life! You can take your hurtful words elsewhere, anonymous evil-doer!”
