“Riiight. I can hardly imagine what could’ve been bothering him so much, to neglect mentioning the harrows of wearing spectacles.”
“You’re surely joking, right? I’m George Weasley, your bloody brother!” George said, thwacking his across the back of the head, “And I’m not about to let you forget how utterly dumb you look. What are you even staking out?”
“Never met him.” Ron was grateful to have a helmet blocking the wallop to the head. “I look fantastic. What do you mean? I’m a muggle soldier, of course!” he huffed, unaware that his uniform hadn’t been in circulation for over fifty years.
“I know. Now quit being a dumbass. There’s cute girls around.”
"Who do you think you are, crashing my stakeout, demanding I chase skirts with you? Sod off, 'm working."
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Bisop.” She lowered her voice before speaking again. “Do they assign you these cover stories?”
"Nah. Makes these watchdog assignments a bit more interesting, though. Never realized how much these things pinch you," grumbled Ron as he removed the fake glasses to rub his nose.
“Under … under what cover?? Unless you mean you’re actually being UNDERCOVER, then, you’ve missed it.”
"Well, it's blown now, innit? Honestly. Do you want me to get my head cursed off? Er don't answer that."
“You look like more of an idiot than usual. This is why I don’t take you places when I go on my trips.”
"My disguise works then! Awh, you spoil everything."
“Oh, that is a good look for you Wea…uh, whoever you are.”
“Hush, you. Right now I’m ‘Clemont Bisop’, muggle sniper extraordinaire. Best damned shot on the force before an explosives accident gave me astigmatism.”
“Shh! I’m under cover! Can’t you tell?”
“’Leas’ ye’ve finally learned t’expect it bu’ crushed has gotta be an overstatemen’, eh? An’way, I heard a rumor ye’ve finally copped an’ ye’ll be supportin’ me Kestrels fer the remainder o’ the season. Good sense too, since they’ll obviously be winnin’ the league this year.”
“Not at all, an understatement if anything. That winning streak they pulled was a miracle to the long-time Chudley observer! Looked like they were gunna cut a path to victory, but those damn Arrows put them in the ground. Your information’s good at least; Kenmare’s looking pretty good these days. Best of all, they’re playing Appleby soon. Your boys better enact some sweet revenge.”
Hannah nodded along as Ron went on his little rant about the different teams that could beat Appleby, Serving another customer he spoke, but keeping her attention on him, as to not make him think that she was ignoring him. “So I’m putting my money on the Kestrals?” she asked, once he finally finished. “Good to know, if I lose I’ll take it up with you then shall I?” she laughed.
“I’d wait a few matches to say for sure, but they’re a good bet, yeh,” Ron nodded, going over statistics in his head of the remaining teams. “They’ve got a solid Keeper too, ‘n their Beaters are a couple of bruisers - no pun intended. Appleby’s all on the offensive, so Kenmare should be able to turn that against ‘em.” He laughed a bit, spirits lightened. “Sure, if you lose any money on my word feel free to beat it out of me!”

“No, I didn’t think you’d be open to that idea” Hannah laughed at Ron’s response, topping up his glass. She leant her elbows on the bar and nodded “Alright then. Give me your tips, I’d better win some bets with your advice. Who’s going to beat Appleby?”
“Well, Magpies are a favorite, but they’re predictable; got sloppy after so many victories, I reckon. Puddlemere’s been unstoppable - though if Angelina keeps flitting off to other countries with my brother, they’ll have no chance,” he quipped, pausing for another sip of whiskey. “Harpies are still in the running, but they’ve got Ginny. Personally, I think the Kestrals are the dark horse in this one. Their Chasers’ve been bit sloppy, but they’ve got the best Seeker in the league. Now that Chudley’s done, anyway.”
Hannah laughed, throwing the dish towel over her shoulder “So the game went badly? That sucks Ron. Maybe it’s time for a new team?” she suggested. “Although you’re in pretty deep now, with all the Canons paraphernalia and stuff you own”
“I’d never give up on Chudley!” Ron said indignantly, “They made it to tenth in the league! They haven’t been so good in years!” Ron sipped his firewhiskey. “Now it’s a matter of who do I think will be most likely to crush Appleby in the final.”
“And thats why you ordered such a strong drink?” Hannah laughed, putting his firewhiskey in front of him. “All starting to make sense now”
“Nah, this is just the usual,” Ron sighed, taking a sip. “Course, it doesn’t hurt.”

“You look… really nice. And I think we’re missing the opening act so we should probably.. go. Inside, that is.”
“Yeah? Reckon I’m still a pile of rags, next to you. Oh- right, er, here,” Ron mumbled as he grabbed the door, having briefly forgotten why he was at the Pistol & Dime in the first place. "Ready to rock out?” he asked over the myriad of sound from within.
“Mate, that’s fugley.”
"WOAH! DEAN! Bloody knock first!”
“HOUSE ELVES, GOBLINS AND WIXEN ARE EQUAL! TREAT THEM THAT WAY!” Hermione’s magically amplified roared down Diagon Alley. Both hands had a tight grip on the sign that read S.P.E.W in large, gold letters and just below it, flashing, moving pictures of house elves being abused by their masters. She stood outside Gringotts, brow furrowed as she protested. “Hey—” she said to the figure beside her, her voice at it’s normal pitch. “—have you a moment to talk about the Society for the Protection of Elfish Welfare??”
Ron had been scoping Knocturn of a few hours. In the light of day, it was much simpler to navigate the labyrinth of shops as he planned to continue his one-man crusade against Crowe - even if the case had been handed to the Hit Witches and Wizards. As he slipped out into the throng where the alley became Diagon, Ron let out a curse at the explosive noise. Once the shock left, though, he recognized the voice and smiled. He followed the unmissable sound to Hermione, a little awed at the intricate posters. “Glad you finally took my advice, consolidating spew with spug,” Ron joked before grimacing at a photographed elf getting knocked unconscious by a dishpan. “You, er, got a extra sign?”
