The Duffer and Kate Trefry also imply in the The First Shadow documentary that the whole thing was written, if not episode 6 at the very least because they say "The only thing I don't like about it is that you kinda took Kate away from us when we were still working on season 5. That's the only thing."

And then Kate replies, "That's not true I totally fucking delivered on Season 5. Absolutely."

I can't remember what specific date that is in the doc but it was either very early October 2023 or a few weeks before. Which aligns broadly them posting everything all this around September-December 2023 but having been done quite a while beforehand.
