365 Days of Thankfulness

Day 365: it's day 365

I'm done. 365 days of thankfulness complete. Now it's time for me to look back and be thankful.

Hi Rachel, I'm Lou, French girl. I've read your blog for 3 or 4 months and I should really thank you for those thoughts and life moments you shared ! Sometimes (eventhough I speak French) I even surprise myself saying "thankful" for something ! You, putting forward the beautiful things nature gives, you allow me to appreciate and notice them even more. For this I'm thankful and you really strengthened my will to come to Australia. I wish u happiness in ur new student life!

Day 364: you

A blog is nothing if people don't read it. I'm not sure if many people have read this or not but for those that have followed at any point, this is my time to say thank you for hearing me out. I hope and pray that you can see the things in your life that are worth being thankful for. So thank you!!

Day 363: the timing seems appropriate

This three hundred and sixty five day venture is quickly coming to an end. Just as it is coming to it's close though, life looks like it is starting to move in a new way. I've spent the last year trying to figure out which direction I might go. Now a path is been paved ahead of me. This past year has taken me to places far greater than I knew existed, with people too beautiful for me to explain with mere letters arranged. It was a year unlike any it's previous. I've been blessed. The ability to be thankful for something new everyday is testament to such a statement as this. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am thankful for the time that has been and look forward to the time that isn't yet here.

Day 362: a roll over the bridge and under the stars

Standing, we let the wheels beneath our feet carry us along the bridge. As they carried us, we looked over the ocean that held the silver reflection of a full moon. Faster and faster, the wheels would spin as we felt the wind brush past our faces and take the heat from our skin. There was a purity to the simple rhythms and motions of rolling over the bridge, under the shadow of a night sky. It was something to be thankful for.

Day 361: the pursuit of holiness

"Holiness" is a scary word. Definitely a word that I don't associate with myself. We are called to be holy though. Surely not! That's for the perfect ones amongst us, the old and wise with years of flawless experience. Who am I kidding with thoughts like these? None of us are perfect. So if this is the case why do I wait around for a time when all of a sudden I miraculously become the perfect person. That day won't arrive. We are told to be holy. Now, with the help of a lady I consider to be wise, I am on the pursuit of holiness, knowing full well that I will fail more times than you would dare to count. "The Pursuit of Holiness", written by Jerry Bridges is a good read. I am thankful for what it's pages hold and definitely recommend it.

Day 360: the inner child, searching freedom and fun

There was a few of us who went to the park this morning. There was a play equipment there and we found ourselves playing like children on the swing and monkey bars. I guess it goes to show that some part inside of us never grows up. I believe the desire to be free and have fun like a child is beautiful. It was nice to be shown that today and it's something I am thankful for.

Day 359: we danced

A friend of ours had his first DJ gig so we went to see him mix some music. He mixed the music well. We danced until he stopped and then we left. I don't go out dancing very often but it was fun for a change.

Day 358: I am close to finishing 365 days

Only a week till I finish 365 days of thankfulness. I'm starting to reflect on this time and how beautiful it has been to see things in a different light. It's time that I be thankful for a journey of thankfulness as I draw closer to day 365.
