A little chalk pastel fish on board I made today.
Today I embroidered a stupid little fish onto one of my dish towels.
Realized itâs been a very long time since I shared any of my art, but I promise Iâm still making stuff. Iâve been keeping the bulk of it kind of quiet because Iâm hoping to turn it into a show sometime and want to save what Iâve been working on to release whenever that happens, but I canât keep this guy to myself.
Introducing FishInShorts.
Playing around with acrylics today. This is what Iâve done so far.
Maxwell Klinger in his Scarlet OâHara dress, gouache, 4x6 inches
My most recent painting for @jordanillustratesâ Artober challenge. I was struggling to come up with an idea for âGolden + Mistâ but I put on an episode of MASH and decided to lean hard into the word golden and paint one of my favorite characters.
gouache, 4x6 inches
For @jordanillustratesâ Artober challenge, this one is âGather + Fruitsâ based on a photo of the raspberries in my own garden!
Turkâs Turban Squash, gouache on paper, 4x6 inches, for @jordanillustratesâ Artober prompt âGourd + Squirrel.â Iâve always loved the shapes and colors of these squash! Also I cranked this one out in like 20 minutes while watching Jeopardy a few days ago.
Gouache on paper, 4x6 inches
For @jordanillustratesâ Artober prompt âSpices + Ciderâ I painted one of my favorite mugs. Also I drank some cider.
The mug in question!
Uncle Iroh enjoying some tea, gouache and ink on paper, 6x6 inches
For the prompt âTea + Leavesâ from @jordanillustratesâ Artober prompt list.
For @jordanillustratesâ Artober prompt âFungi + Ghostâ I painted my Dungeons and Dragons character, Cheddar, having a chat with their grandfather, who clearly happens to be a ghost. Having a ghost for a grandfather is what inspired Cheddar to become a necromancer, as they hoped they could also cheat death in order to hang out with their family an unnaturally long time. Cheddar is the friendliest necromancer youâll probably ever encounter.
Cheddar is a gnome, and gnomes love nicknames; Cheddarâs legal name is actually Amanita, which happens to be the genus name of the incredibly cute and deadly mushrooms included in this painting. I think âincredibly cute and deadlyâ is an appropriate description of Cheddar as well.
This painting is 6x6 inches and done with gouache and ink on paper.
Apple and honey, gouache on paper, 6x6 inches
Iâve been really enjoying the Artober prompts @jordanillustrates put together this year! The words chosen feel very cozy and gave me some fun ideas, and I appreciated the idea of doing one prompt every three days instead of daily. Iâve still managed to fall behind, but Iâve still made more paintings in the last few weeks than I usually do. As another artist friend of mine said, âIf it gets us to make more art than we normally would, then we are winning!â
This is the list of prompts:
In case it wasnât obvious, this one was done for âHarvest + Apples.â
Iâm going to post everything Iâve done so far, so come back for more!
When I woke up, he was sleeping in his white shirt on a white pillow and the lights and darks were beautiful.
Feeling some love lately for my favorite American Girl, Kirsten Larson. This portrait is 6x6 inches and done in gouache.
She loves it!
SHE THINKS HER LAUGH IS A SONG SO SHE SINGS BACK
@paperstorm
Just an absolute fucking orb of a creature
I couldnât resist
Tonight I finished this portrait of my current D&D character, Lenka Miller. She is a half orc barbarian with a couple of curses and I love her very much.
This painting is 6x9 inches and done with watercolor and gold ink.
Got distracted while cleaning the studio.
A little painting I did for my mom for Christmas featuring her two parakeets. The tree is painted with watercolor and ink on Yupo paper and the birds are painted with acrylic on acetate. Measures 11.5 x 4 inches.
