Evaluation!
Overall, the project was both successful and unsuccessful in the sense of teamwork. But managed to finish it off, and it is a strong piece of design, that really made it kind of hard for everyone to focus on one thing hence the distribution of tasks between us as a group/team.
Having distributed the tasks between ourselves, that made it really easy for everyone to know what they were doing or what job they had to do. I think that was a success because if we all talked the design process, as a group, we would have slacked behind.
The floor plan is quite complicated and minimal but tricky if you were the one putting it together, but overall working with Charlie (the wood technician), it made it more accessible because if we didn't know anything, we had to ask. The model took about 5_6 weeks working on it as a group. It's a minimalistic design but yet structural and complex. It took longer than we as a team thought. As the building process went on, we changed a few structures as we went on. Hence the building is the art piece itself.
works/pieces
At the beginning of the project, we had all decided to put at least a portion of work in the space to give it a sense of identity since it was an exhibition space, but have decided on the theme: “OUT OF PLACE”, we thought the pieces should be the piece itself.
As shown, the building process was a bit tricky when it came to the following the drawing plan to produce a more significant component of the design. The angles were a bit hard to put together, but with practice, we just smashed it, and the process got a bit faster considering we were behind when it came presenting the cardboard design.
Being part of the building team has really made me consider what we should or not do.
